New-to-Peds and New-to-Specialty Training
- Are you an experienced ER nurse who loves working with kids? We welcome experienced adult ER nurses interested in transitioning to a dedicated pediatric ED with a New-to-Peds orientation, including preceptor-led clinical training.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for independently applying the nursing process through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of pediatric patient care. Resolves patient problems and needs by applying multidisciplinary team strategies. Selects and coordinates the appropriate care, taking into consideration the age, developmental level and size of the patient. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration, storage procedures and controlled substance regulations. Should be able to identify own limitations and seek resources as needed. Maintains a collaborative relationship among health care teams by communicating information and participating in team problem-solving methods.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's Degree in Nursing
1 year of experience
Current California RN License
BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
The current salary range for this position is $61.91 to $88.55
A candidate's placement in the range will be determined based on the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. The Clinical Nurse Informaticist is an experienced clinician who has expertise in pediatric patient care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, patient safety, quality improvement, and the use of technology to optimize care delivery processes. They are an advocate for clinicians and staff, translating clinical standards and requirements into technical specifications for the EHR (Electronic Health Record). The Clinical Nurse Informaticist, provides expertise and support to highly visible, sensitive, and multifaceted clinical projects and is responsible for the successful turnover of projects to production. The Clinical Nurse Informaticist, under the direction of the Chief Medical Information Officer, will work with clinical operations leadership, physicians, nurses, clinical informaticists, department leadership, quality and safety to clarify needs, prioritize requests, design workflows to fit with electronic systems, and execute change. The Clinical Nurse Informaticist will be proficient in the EHR application training (Ambulatory, IP, Optime, Clin Doc, or others as applicable) obtained while in the role or by way of formal accreditation offered by health record system. Responsible for focused, ongoing training (physician and staff in groups, teams, and individual 1:1 sessions).
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a registered nurse in a direct patient care setting
