Job Summary:


Manages the daily operations of the diagnostic imaging department, including patient services, personnel, scheduling, finance and equipment. Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations, standards and protocols. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment.

Essential Functions:



  • Coordinates all technical operations of the diagnostic imaging department. Ensures timely processing of all patients while prioritizing emergent procedures, minimizing patient waits and optimizing turn-around times. Monitors and directs the Radiology Information System (RIS) and the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Ensures the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.

  • Supervises diagnostic imaging personnel, including recruiting and hiring, orientation, training and development, scheduling and regular performance evaluation. Ensures optimum levels of staffing in accordance with hospital productivity targets. Conducts regular staff meetings and manages departmental committees and projects as directed.

  • Manages quality assurance and evaluates new business opportunities and management approaches. Recommends improved medical imaging protocols and designs and implements performance improvement programs as needed. Ensures compliance with Joint Commission and local, state and federal regulations, standards and protocols.

  • Assists in strategic resource planning and develops, implements and oversees department salary, operation and capital budgets. Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance, evaluating and comparing possible courses-of-action, and making decisions/recommendations after considering the various possibilities.

  • Researches and recommends new technologies and equipment to increase departmental productivity. Uses consistent exercise of discretion and judgment.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Services to the Armed Forces -

The Position

This position serves as the Licensed Mental Health Clinician for the Juvenile Hall and Juvenile Probation. The vacancy is in Ukiah, CA.

The list developed from this recruitment will be used for a limited period to fill open and promotional, regular full-time, and part-time positions throughout the County, should they occur. SALARY

Compensation is based on a five-step salary range, with annual merit-based increases within the salary range.

RETIREMENT

HOLIDAYS AND PERSONAL LEAVE

Mendocino County observes 11 paid holidays per year. Employees are granted 24 – 48 hours of personal leave annually, depending upon Bargaining Unit.

VACATION

Accrues at the rate of two weeks per year for three years. Three weeks per year after three years, four weeks after eight years and five weeks after 15 years.

SICK LEAVE

Paid sick leave accrues at the rate of 1.25 days per month, or 15 days per year. Accruals are pro-rated for part-time employees working at least 20 hours per week. Part-time employees working less than 20 hours per week, and extra-help employees receive up to 24 hours (or 3 days) of paid sick leave annually.

**How you make a difference**
The Discharge Planner coordinates healthcare discharge services, focusing on identifying community resources and scheduling follow-up appointments for patients nearing release. They provide both individual and group psychoeducational sessions to support patients' transitions into the community. The role includes facilitating benefit applications and coordinating medication or residential needs post-release. Discharge Planners maintain contact with community providers and document all activities in health records. The position requires close collaboration with facility and parole staff to ensure continuity of care.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Coordinate discharge planning services, including MAT, medical, and mental health programs
+ Provide individual and group psychoeducational sessions for patients scheduled for release

**Qualifications & Requirements**
EDUCATION
