LPN HEALTHCARE COORDINATOR ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
STAFFING:
- Assist with in-services for staff.
- Assist with completing staff reviews.
- Maintain adequate staffing by assisting with recruiting, hiring, terminating, and supervising, all on-site staff according to their individual job descriptions, along with supervisors.
- Assure quality customer service and performance is achieved by caregivers.
OPERATIONS:
- Assessments and re-assessments of current and prospective residents.
- Oversee staff providing personal cares.
- Be responsible for having the MAR prepared, accurately, monthly and as needed for DON approval and review.
- Document tasks accurately which have been delegated by DON according to State Regulations and Nurse Practice Act.
- Be responsible for all medication reminders and administrations delegated from Registered Nurse/DON.
- Give input on assessments and service plans for all current residents as required by company policies.
- Properly dispose of all hazardous materials per company policy.
- Report any resident health concerns to DON/Registered Nurse.
- Attend all mandatory meetings.
- Use and train on proper body mechanics.
- Be a part of the safety team and committees as assigned.
- Attend/conduct bi-weekly staff in-services and weekly manager meetings.
- Be a team player and perform various other duties as may be requested, within your scope of knowledge, by the Director.
- Complete incident report forms as necessary for residents, self, visitors, or co-workers.
- Contact management when necessary for emergency situations.
- Answer telephone promptly and courteously.
- Work with DON to assure that appropriate medical information is relayed between shifts.
- Uphold confidentiality and Health Insurance and Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) regulations.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Site Medical Director acts as the responsible Physician and health authority to ensure appropriate delivery of medical care at the detention center, with no additional managerial responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Consult with community medical providers to resolve service delivery issues.
- Supervise clinical services performed by professional and paraprofessional staff.
- Provide and manage on-call services.
- Annually review and approve clinical protocols, policies, procedures, and medical disaster plans.
- Manage referrals to outside healthcare facilities to ensure quality care and continuity.
- Sponsor Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners per state laws for correctional facilities.
- Serve as a resource for staff Physicians and clinical personnel.
- Assist in credential verification and hiring of healthcare providers.
- Participate in in-service training classes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of an accredited medical school.
- Fully licensed to practice in the state of Wisconsin.
- Current DEA Registration.
- Preferred board certification or eligibility in primary care specialty (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine) with experience in corrections and/or managed healthcare delivery.
- Fluency in English, including strong reading, writing, speaking, and understanding skills.
- Team-oriented with the ability to contribute to teamwork and collaboration.
