Job Description:

Under the direction of the office provider or licensed nurse of Fairfield Healthcare Professionals, the Medical Assistant will assist with preparing patients for exams, administering medications within the medical assistant scope of practice, assisting with procedures, and facilitating general communication with patients.

  • Accurately takes vital signs and gives injections as directed.
  • Performs all in-office testing as requested by provider.
  • Assists with minor surgical procedures/wound care and dressing, and sterilization of instruments.
  • Handles pharmacy-related requests/issues.
  • Collects and inputs patient information into patients EMR using correct medical terminology.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

DIRECT CLINICAL SERVICE: Provides on-going primary and secondary community services to Adult SMD's, serves as an advocate, liaison, mediator, broker for SMD's, provides transport for clients to services, promotes a client/driven, strength-oriented service, adheres to the agency's mission statement, policy and procedures, follows guidelines to ensure quality assurance, maintains productivity and documentation standards, keeps current licensing credentials. **Job Description Summary:**
The Advanced Practice Providers (APP), Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) including Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), work in collaboration with the physician in the outpatient setting (in-person or Telehealth). Primary care offices or clinics can include family medicine, pediatrics, or internal medicine. The Primary Care APP may perform minimally invasive procedures and generally works with a stable patient population.
**Responsibilities And Duties:**
Works under direction and in consultation/collaboration with physician and may perform services authorized by the supervising/collaborating physician that are part of the physician's normal course of practice and expertise. Promotes quality outcomes and initiatives. Must have a Supervision Agreement (SA) or Standard Care Arrangement (SCA) with a physician in like practice. Practices within applicable state laws, appropriate boards, and in accordance with his/her/their SA/SCA and delineation of privileges.
