We're looking for a detail-driven, technically proficient Biomedical Equipment Technician to join a top-tier Clinical Engineering team in Elmira, NY . - As a BMET , you'll perform advanced-level service, repairs, and preventive maintenance on a wide range of medical equipment. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, guide junior technicians, and coordinate vendor-supported technical projects-all in a setting where innovation and patient safety are the top priorities.
- Technical Duties:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate complex medical and clinical equipment
- Conduct preventive maintenance and installations of new systems
- Evaluate demonstration units and submit detailed performance reports
- Provide in-service education on medical equipment operation and safety
- Analyze equipment failures and document root causes to prevent future issues
- Manage accurate service documentation using Clinical Engineering systems
- Coordinate technical projects and field assignments with other BMETs
- Collaborate with vendors and support departments across the organization
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through training and independent research
- Assist with on-call emergency service as per rotation
- Bachelor's in Engineering + 2 years of relevant experience OR
- Associate's in Biomedical/Electronics/Computer Tech + 4+ years' experience
- Solid understanding of electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and medical sciences
- ICC Certification a plus
- Must be able to lift and handle equipment safely
- Strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset
- Day shifts , with occasional flexibility for equipment access and emergency support
- Competitive hourly pay: 27.36 - 33.86
