The Medical Staff Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining the hospital-wide call schedule. The Medical Staff Manager is thoroughly familiar with Joint Commission standards pertaining to Medical Staff, as well as the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules & Regulations to provide guidance with physician issues. The Medical Staff Manager is responsible for the accurate maintenance of the credentialing data base.

+ The Medical Staff Manager serves as liaison between the hospital and medical staff, providing service and information regarding their privileges and administrative needs, in a professional and courteous manner. Performs administrative duties as delegated by the chief of staff, medical staff officers and committee chairs, chief of surgery and chief of medicine.
+ Serves as liaison, as appropriate, between medical staff officers and the medical staff by gathering information and researching issues, minimizing the amount of time officers spend on issues that can be handled at the medical staff office level.
+ The Medical Staff Manager is responsible for the preparation and recording for meetings of the medical staff leadership at assigned hospital(s) and follows through assuring business is completed in a timely fashion. Prepares agendas and accompanying documentation for each of the Credentials, Medical Executive, General Staff and Bylaws Committee meetings. Follows-up with appropriate Medical Staff/hospital personnel regarding action items. Records minutes of meeting.
+ Prepares reports on a timely basis when requested, i.e., Board of Directors bi-monthly report, and Quality & Safety Board bi-monthly report.
+ Maintains a thorough knowledge of the contents of the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations. Serves as a resource person to the Medical Staff and hospital personnel on issues pertaining to the Bylaws.
+ Collects and verifies information required when physicians request additional privileges within approved criteria. Documents competency to assure criteria are met. When no criteria exists, information sources are queried (professional web sites, other hospitals, etc.), and draft criteria is formulated and presented to the appropriate Medical Staff leader

**The role you'll contribute:** The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for providing basic and advanced respiratory services to infant, pediatric, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. The RRT performs routine respiratory clinical care including medication administration, arterial puncture, breathing exercises and retraining, initiation and monitoring of oxygen therapy and pulse oximeters. In addition, the RRT performs critical care duties including the initiation of, management, and discontinuation of mechanical ventilation, endotracheal intubation assist, airway care and attendance at deliveries and cardiopulmonary resuscitations dependent upon the RRT level of professional development attained. May perform routine and emergency care for age categories infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.

**The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:**
**Minimum qualifications** :
+ Successfully passed the Registered Respiratory Therapist exam with the National Board for Respiratory Care approved by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoArc) or a successor accrediting authority
+ Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the state of Texas
+ Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care
+ Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ ACLS, PALS, NRP Certifications preferred
+ Active AARC Membership preferred
+ Experience in an acute care setting preferred
+ Experience in ED, ICU, and neonatal settings preferred

**The role you'll contribute:**
Performs procedures, including neuro and body scans on patients from neonate to geriatric, following specific guidelines of the facilities parameters, transmitting images for diagnostic interpretation, and keeping the hospital computer system up to date with the progress of these exams. Positions, moves, and assists patients. Performs clerical duties. Performs basic patient care within scope of practice and to departmental standards. Responsibility to adhere to the Hospital Corporate compliance plan, to the rules and regulations of all local, state, and Federal agencies, and to the standards of all accrediting bodies.

Performs all exams using established protocols. Uses facility policy for proper identification of patient prior to performing exams. Educates patient concerning exam. Properly screens patients for any contrast allergies.
Completes all exams in a timely manner, keeps workflow moving, and minimizes empty table time. Follows through after completing exams with communication and transportation of patients.
Performs all types of imaging procedures and operates all equipment safely and properly including scanners, injectors, monitors, and other medical equipment. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to perform x-rays and scans on patients on all ages, adapting protocols as necessary.
Properly screens patients of childbearing age, and operates all imaging equipment in a safe manner minimizing radiation exposure to patients, families, and co-workers. Practices infection control standards, and utilizes approved PPE and disinfectant agents. Maintains a properly stocked, organized and clean room. Performs vendor required QA on CT scanners and other ionizing equipment as required. Employee job duties may include transport of pharmaceutical waste from the point of generation to a designated secure storage area. Employee will be required to complete initial training (prior to handling pharmaceutical waste) to include proper handling and transport of pharmaceutical waste, and proper selection, use and disposal of personal protective equipment, if applicable.
Reviews all images of all exams, repeating images as necessary for best possible result. If necessary notify physician of emergent findings according to established protocol
Uses computer system for ordering, changing, and canceling exams according to protocol. Confirms order matches exam before pushing to PACS or correctly fixes exams on workstation or PACS.
Assists with collection of data entry for all process improvement projects realizing final goals of department. Maintains a knowledge and understanding of process improvement initiatives for the department.

ARRT (R) (CT)
Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist License - MRT
