Position OverviewThe CT technologist works under the supervision of the physician, provides radiologic care, and services to patients by arranging and operating equipment in order to produce images of the human body for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. The CT Technologist ensures that the Radiology department meets current accreditation program and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists standards and achieves the Singing River Health System objectives. He/She operates equipment requiring detailed concentration for extended periods of time, stocks an adequate inventory of supplies at all times, and maintains quality control of procedures and quality assurance of equipment.

CertificationMust complete BCLS certification by the end of position orientation; must maintain current BCLS certification.
ExperienceA minimum of six (6) months experience in Computerized Tomography Scanning required.
Physical DemandsWork is moderately active: involves sitting with frequent requirements to move about the office, move about the facility, and to travel to another facility within the SRHS service area. Work involves exerting a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Work involves using many physical motions in performing daily work activities; subject to exposure of body fluids, communicable diseases, CRT (computer) equipment, sputum and tissues, which may carry the hazard of infectious disease. Work involves using repetitive motions: substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and or fingers while operating standard office equipment such as computer keyboard. Work involves being able to perceive the nature of sound at normal speaking levels with or without correction; the ability to make fine discriminations in sound. Work requires close visual and acuity and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus, i.e. shift gaze from viewing a computer monitor to forms/printed material that are closer to compare data at close vision. Must be able to be active for extended periods of time without experiencing undue fatigue. Must be able to work schedules assigned with the understanding that changes may be instituted according to the needs of the hospital for off days, shifts or weekends.
Mental DemandsMust demonstrate keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities. Must demonstrate superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills to receive and give information in person and by telephone. Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Must possess emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels. Must demonstrate ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Attention to detail and the ability to multi?task in complex situations is required. · High School Diploma or equivalent required.
· Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population or if less than one (1) year of experience, must receive appropriate training from the PACE organization on working with a frail or elderly population upon hiring.
· Experience in a long-term care facility or with a community-based geriatric program preferred.
· Must be action-oriented, manage conflict well, be customer focused, have high decision quality and flexibility to adapt to ongoing change.
· Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.
· Superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills appropriate for audience comprehension.
· Valid drivers license and use of personal vehicle for home care visits
· Excellent organizational skills and the ability to perform multiple duties and functions related to daily operations while maintaining excellent customer service.
· Position may require 10% travel within the Centers geographic region and use of personal vehicle.
