Responsibilities: 

  • Interview patients to gather medical information and confirm the purpose of the visit.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, ensuring they are stocked, neat, and clean.
  • Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for exams by performing preliminary physical tests (e.g., blood pressure, height, weight, temperature).
  • Record patients' medical history, vital signs, and test results in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Assist medical staff during exams and treatments, including handing instruments and performing tasks such as giving injections and removing sutures.
  • Perform laboratory procedures, including urine analysis, cultures, immunizations, hemoglobin testing, lead levels, and EKGs.
  • Collect and prepare blood, tissue, or other specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Administer respiratory treatments, injections, and immunizations following protocols or standing orders.
  • Sterilize instruments per guidelines and maintain accurate sterilization logs.
  • Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physicians' instructions to patients.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medical laboratory procedures and healthcare operations and work flow
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Medical Assistant Certificate (from an accredited school
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Associate's Degree in Healthcare related courses
  • At least one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience strongly preferred
  • Six (6) months of experience with documentation in an EHR system
  • Phlebotomy training strongly preferred 
  • Pediatric experience strongly preferred

  • Perform respiratory treatments, injections and immunizations according to TrueCare protocols or standing orders.
  • Change dressings on wounds.
  • Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records.
  • Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians' instructions to patients.
  • Discharge patients from visit per patient discharge protocols.
  • Schedule appointments for patients, as needed.
  • Refer calls to medical staff when appropriate for emergency or medical questions.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Your Role & Impact

What We’re Looking For

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Psychology or PhD / PsyD in Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), Licensed Psychologist by the California Board of Psychology, or an Active Registration with BBS as a pre-licensed ASW or AMFT or Active Registration with the Board of Psychology as a post-doctoral pre-licensed psychologist.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association
  • Valid California Driver’s License, proof of insurance and clean driving record.
  • Experience providing health psychology services such as smoking cessation, weight management, stress management, substance abuse disorders, or work with chronically ill patients.
  • A general understanding of trauma-informed care approaches and therapies, Adverse Childhood Experiences and their impact on brain development, suicide prevention and acute crisis assessment/intervention. 
  • Familiarity or work experience in integrated behavioral health models (IBH).
  • Computer savvy with electronic health records
  • Bonus points if you’re bilingual (English/Spanish) or have community clinic experience!

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse holding a valid California nursing license in good standing.
  • Prefer two (2) years of experience working in a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE)
  • Prefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees
  • Able to obtain a valid Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) license
  • Able to effectively teach/train staff
  • Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Must pass a criminal background clearance before beginning work
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Able to obtain and maintain valid first aid and CPR certification
  • Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.

The position works closely with clinicians as part of the treatment team. Services are provided in the schools, at the North County Lifeline Clinic, and via Zoom.   • Collects clinical data, correlates this clinical data, and provides clinical input to the treatment team;
  • Conveys medical criteria and clinical information between the insurance provider and treatment team as warranted;
  • May also correlate clinical data for the business office as required.
  • Providing case management and care coordination services for patients in the clinic;
  • Responsible for coordinating the continuum of care activities for assigned patients and ensuring optimum utilization of resources, service delivery, and compliance with external agencies and referral sources requirements;
  • May also be responsible for conducting individual, and family educational sessions, various duties related to coordinating treatment and discharge activities, as needed;
  • Coordinates in a timely manner, issues or activities relevant to the team, and/or to the team's relationship within the facility or treatment milieu; and,
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation for roles at Capalina CTC varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Capalina CTC provides a reasonable hourly range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California as set forth below.

Role Location: California

Calculated Salary Range for role : $29.00 - $38.00 per hour.

Qualifications

Your Education, Skills, & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related Human Service field is required
  • 1-2 years of experience working in behavioral health setting is required
  • Experience with the Opioid Use Disorder/Substance Use population served by the clinic is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in case management and/or utilization review is preferred.
Preferred Experience:
  • Prefer previous experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings, such as outpatient, residential, or correctional facilities.
  • Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone, and its role in recovery planning.
  • Experience providing case management services, including assessing client needs, developing individualized service plans, coordinating referrals, and connecting patients to community resources.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), harm reduction, and trauma-informed care, with the ability to support clients through various stages of recovery.
  • Strong documentation skills, including timely and accurate maintenance of case notes, service plans, and progress summaries in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Understanding of regulatory and confidentiality standards (e.g., 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, Joint Commission) related to substance use and behavioral health services.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including counselors, nursing staff, medical providers, and peer support specialists.
Required Certifications:
  • AOD Registration is required.
  • AOD Certification is preferred.
  • Registration/Certification must be obtained from a California-approved Counselor Certification Organization (CAADE, CADTP or CCAPP).
