Our job is to provide in person, over the phone, and video remote interpretation (VRI) interpretation services for scheduled and on-demand service requests within the state of Washington, and bordering zip codes. The Project Delivery Group is comprised of an executive director, directors, project and construction managers, contract manager and administrators, design and construction partners, within the Asset Management unit in UW Facilities. The PDG is responsible for the delivery of capital projects that help fulfill the University's teaching, research, health care and innovation mission. From concept to completion to transition to occupancy, PDG leads the planning, design and construction required to execute and successfully complete projects ranging from small remodels to new buildings. **The Project Delivery Group (PDG) has an outstanding opportunity for a Construction Manager (Healthcare) for healthcare capital projects.** Under the general supervision of the Director, and with direct guidance from the Construction Program Manager, the Construction Manager (Healthcare) serves as the University's representative in managing the construction and closeout phase of healthcare projects with stringent regulatory and compliance needs and complex programmatic, technical, and mechanical design requirements, with authority to approve changes in budget and time to the construction contract, within the limits of delegated authority and the approved project budget.
The Construction Manager (Healthcare) is responsible for a major project or may be assigned multiple special projects. Major projects include construction of new buildings or major renovations of an existing building above $15M. Special projects include renovations of portions of an existing building or utility system.
The Project Delivery Group places a strong emphasis on skilled and versatile project managers who are able to lead projects through their full life cycle from planning through post-occupancy. **Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
**(50%) Construction Management:**
+ Using discretion and independent judgment, manage the efforts of contractors during the construction phase of all projects, including general, mechanical, and electrical work, from contract award through warranty.
+ Ensure that adequate construction support services and facilities are provided as required for in a timely manner.
+ Prepare construction change notifications; process change orders and negotiate and approve pricing with the contractor up to the limit of delegated authority.
+ Establish a system for dispute resolution; review and respond to delay claims; develop proposed solutions to solve outstanding problems.
+ Maintain Owner's project statistics and change order tracking system.
+ Create monthly reports on progress, schedule and budget for senior management, each month during construction.
+ Maintain project progress reports and photographic history of the work.
+ Review contractor's work plan and coordinate inspections of the quality of work and materials.
+ Review and approve the contractor's Schedule of Values. and monthly applications for payment.
+ Receive, evaluate, distribute and respond to contractor correspondence.
+ Draft and release correspondence to consultants, other University departments and state, county, city and other regulating officials.
+ Arrange and conduct project meetings including weekly progress meetings, change board meetings, preinstallation meetings, preconstruction conferences, partnering sessions, disputes review board meetings and owner's oversight meetings.
+ Provide direction to and review consultant performance in responding to contractor questions and in reviewing shop drawings, submittals and product samples, to ensure timely responses are provided.
+ Supervise architect's progress in completing contract compliance inspections.
+ Evaluate site specific safety plans to ensure compliance within occupied buildings and public safety.
**(30%) Construction Support Services:**
+ Set-up and manage field office where applicable.
+ Conduct field inspections to determine construction site conditions.
+ Furnish to contractor field sketches as appropriate; evaluate and/or initiate changes to contract documents to resolve field problems.
+ Coordinate hazardous material abatement work.
+ Direct and monitor performance associated construction phase consultants and vendors, including test lab and geotechnical engineers.
+ Obtain necessary approvals for and coordinate building occupancy.
+ Manage efforts of consultants, contractors and University staff required during the building commissioning process including equipment and start up and testing, optimizing operation, obtaining operating instructions and identifying equipment with special requirements.
+ Respond to problems during the warranty period.
+ Working with University project manager, establish safety requirements for each project.
+ Review safety plans from contractors.
+ Perform safety audits.
+ Report incidents and perform incident investigations.
**(15%) Pre-Construction:**
+ Participate in pre-construction planning and review of issues including construction planning and logistics, project safety, schedule, budget and constructability.
+ Working in partnership with the University's project manager, serve as the project resource for construction-related issues (including execution planning, schedule, budget and constructability) in the design phase of capital projects and manage the prime consultants' construction phase services to the completion of the project.
+ When assigned to a GC/CM contract, review contracts for construction support contracts and subcontract packages; identify duplications and omissions in the subcontract buyout; verify completion of contracts and ensure that all contract completion documents (warranties, guarantees) are processed.
+ Provide subject matter expertise when evaluating Request for Proposals (RFPs) from contractors and provide objective feedback in the process.

A focus on experience and relationships in the A/E industry to contribute to the overall strategic and tactical leadership of the Stantec Health Sector engineering discipline, building and leading the health sector engineering practice in the Seattle area. In addition, business development, contributions to project delivery standards and work processes, quality control, workload forecasting, financial performance accountability and collaboration with other disciplines is critical. Your Key Responsibilities
Business Development/Marketing - approximately 25% of the time
- Be a primary contributor to building Stantec's Health Sector Engineering practice in the Seattle area.
- Interface regularly with additional architectural, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering leaders in US West and across North America to thrive and contribute within the integrated design practice
- Develop and execute strategic and tactical business and marketing plans for the health sector engineering practice in Arizona that align with Business Center, regional Buildings team, and Global Health Sector goals to advance the overall practice.
- Sustain and grow top line revenue helping to achieve growth objectives in the Seattle and US West areas in collaboration with the Regional Business Leader, Business Center Practice Leaders, and Engineering leaders in US West to achieve key operational performance metrics.
- Develop and maintain industry relationships and visibility with current and prospective clients, sub-consultants, and partner firms in the local and regional A/E industry.
- Assist with the development of the annual business plan and budget for the business center and working with the leadership team to achieve key performance indicators.
- Develop presentation materials and present to clients and at strategic industry events.
- Represent the firm through published articles, public speaking engagements and attendance at industry and community events, meetings, and conferences.
- Develop project proposals.
- Assist the marketing department with the development of health sector engineering marketing materials and content.
- People and
Practice Management - approximately 15% of time
- Hire and lead a team consisting of engineering project managers, designers, and CAD/Revit production team members.
- In conjunction with other stakeholders, identify and forecast staff needs and assignments based on current and projected workload and SME requirements.
- Hold project team members accountable for technical excellence, delivery standards, and best practices.
- Responsible for managing the financial performance, quality control processes, and project delivery for Mechanical Engineering projects.
- Ensure compliance with best practices, including Stantec PM Frameworks Project Involvement.
Project Design and Delivery - approximately 50% of time
- Work with PM's and SMEs on key projects to develop and deliver client drawings, specifications, presentations, reports, and other deliverables.
- Successfully manage projects of significant scope, complexity, and revenue budget.
- Apply buildings engineering and project management knowledge while leading cross-functional resources to meet project requirements within established timeframes and budgets.
- Meet technical, contractual, schedule, budgetary and client service objectives for projects.
- Apply strong engineering skills, experience and knowledge to the design and oversight of the design for building projects.
- Manage and plan the production resources and workflow to produce the design documentation, drawings, and calculations required for engineering projects.
- Act as a QC reviewer on Health Sector Engineering projects.
Technical Leadership - approximately 10% of time
- Maintain awareness of operational, technical, or regulatory changes within Mechanical Engineering and AEC industry overall, disseminate such knowledge to team and firm, and integrate into existing processes and standards.
- Assist to maintain and update Health Sector Engineering specifications, technical documentation, and standards in collaboration with other technical resources within Stantec.
- Oversee Healthcare Engineering Design delivery process and best practices and coordinate with other disciplines.
- Provide oversight for Healthcare Engineering staff education and certification process & balance firm, studio and staff needs.
- Learning/Maintaining and Expanding Technical and Managerial Skills:
- Maintain current knowledge of technologies and trends impacting Stantec's core service offerings and markets and continually strengthens skills.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors' degree in Engineering.
- 15 or more years of related professional experience.
- Professional Engineering license required.
- Project Management Professional certification a plus.
- LEED AP Credential preferred.
- Obtained ASHRAE Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP) certification or similar specific to engineering discipline.
This position will report to and be required to work within the Seattle offices five days a week to start for onboarding. Presence in the offices is required a minimum of three days per week after onboarding.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

CLINIC OPERATIONS:

  • Manages the operations of the clinic, including costs, processes, staffing, and quality standards.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and development plans for all direct reports.

+ Cultivate and manage business development opportunities. Understand EY and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to serve clients. Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks

**To qualify for the role you must have**
+ A bachelor's degree and approximately 5 years of related work experience; or a master's degree and approximately 4 years of related work experience
+ Approximately 4 years of healthcare consulting experience, preferably with prior experience as a manager (or above), in a consulting firm or in a management role within industry
+ Required experience with patient access and centralized contact centers.
+ Ability to lead patient access initiatives which includes clinician management, template management, template optimization, referral management, and scheduling algorithms. Experience should include assessment, design, and implementation of template optimization and scheduling algorithms within an ambulatory setting.
+ Experience with centralization of patient access functions, including contact center staffing models and technology for various engagement channels
+ Ability to read and interpret hospital financial statements and contract terms, utilize complex financial models, experience with operational process mapping and experience with healthcare cost reduction planning and implementation
+ Experience with healthcare organization M&A, physician alignment, or financial margin improvement initiatives
+ Experience in selling and delivering projects that cover the full life cycle of assessment, design and implementation support
+ Assist in generating revenue within existing healthcare clients and in developing new prospects at the "C" level of large healthcare companies
+ Ability to manage a team of staff/senior consulting professionals
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment (knows when to lead and when to follow)
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to create work products within Microsoft's suite of applications, including but not limited to Excel models, Visio scheduling and referral workflows, and PowerPoint presentations.
+ A willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is required as needed by the client.

+ A degree with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, and/or Business; CPA, MBA, MHA and/or MPH

+ We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $128,400 to $35,300. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is 154,000 to 267,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
