JOB SUMMARY
The Mental Health Professional reports to the Program Director and provides mental health clinical services, direct treatment services to patients, and case management services to clients.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide mental health services to children, youth and families including but not limited to assessment, crisis intervention, individual and family therapy, plan development, group therapy and case management.
- Will provide mental health services to children, youth and care providers in settings such as client residence, school, community locations, tele-health and clinic sites.
- In accordance to program, county and state requirements, will document service provision of full-scope Medi-Cal and Short-Doyle beneficiaries under the age of 21 with comprehensive, high-quality array of preventive (such as screening), diagnostic, and treatment services under Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment Services (EPSDT).
- Will complete clinical assessments for children and youth, identifying symptoms, resulting impairments, develop treatment objectives and interventions.
- Maintain a caseload of clients, monitor and coordinate mental health services ensuring individualized and family-focused mental health treatment.
- As part of a treatment team, coordinate service delivery with Mental Health Rehabilitation Providers, Licensed Vocational Nurses/Licensed Psychiatric Technicians, Psychiatrists and Administrative staff.
- Will collaborate with Community Partners to help coordinate care, identify resources to help reduce barriers for clients and families receiving mental health treatment
- Will complete progress notes documenting service provision in electronic medical record (EMR) in timely manner and in accordance to standards designated by Program Director.
- Will comply with program standards for documentation, evidence-based practices, treatment planning, discharge planning and other indicators of quality assurance.
- Regular attendance to team/staff meetings.
- Complete at least 40 hours of required training.
- Employees shall follow the reporting requirements for incidents of Child Abuse, Elder Abuse, Adult Abuse, Dependent Adult Abuse, and Tarasoff warnings per California reporting laws.
- Will drive on Agency business.
- Physical presence in the office is required.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Licensed in the State of California as a Clinical Social Worker, Marriage Family Child Therapist OR,
- Unlicensed : A Master's degree in behavioral science with current intern registration (M.F.T.or L.C.S.W.).
- Demonstrated skills in clinical mental health services with individuals, families, and groups.
- Knowledge of mental illness and effective treatment approaches to mental disorders.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, Office 365, etc.
- Ability to operate communication/meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom and other platforms.
- Ability to operate within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a dependable means of transportation that is properly insured and operated in accordance with all laws. Agency insurer authorization is required.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, general physical, and TB test.
- Must maintain good relationships with consumers, co-workers, government and civic representatives, as well as community members within whom the Agency is transacting business, and relate to them in a professional manner.
- Must be available by cell phone as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR BILINGUAL SKILL
- Communicate effectively in written and spoken Spanish.
- Required ability to communicate effectively with monolingual Spanish speaking clients and families for all clinical purposes.
- Assist with phone calls for Spanish clients.
- Required to provide language translations for case managers and Physicians on a periodic basis.
- Other translation tasks as required.

**Position Purpose:**
The Healthcare Specialist is responsible for providing strategic guidance towards the compliant, safe and efficient handling and processing of all Waste Streams contracted by the facility(s). Ensures the services provided to the facility(s) by Stericycle consistently meet service expectations, regulatory and safety compliance measures, and are provided in a productive and profitable manner.
**Key Job Activities:**
- Monitors the performance of operational efficiencies and assist in ensuring that their performance and cost goals are being achieved by utilizing cost tracking tools and reviewing invoices for accuracy. Identifies and executes ways to reduce costs while still fulfilling contractual obligations
- Provides strategic consultative resources to hospital staff to assist them in managing all contracted waste streams in a safe and compliant manner. Serve as the primary liaison in managing all contracted waste streams
- Provides expert knowledge as needed on each of the regulations associated with the waste streams being managed (i.e., EPA, DOT, DEA, and any other state or local regulations)
- Conduct Survey for customers identifying compliance gaps and waste segregation opportunities utilizing the Virtual Compliance Partner application
- Project manage implementation of new compliance-based services including the tracking, coordinating, and communication of schedules and expectations to internal and external customers. Develop and deliver customized training for the implementation and maintenance of the contract
- Regularly schedule and complete customer-facing activity with focus on service satisfaction, building relationships, and identifying ways to improve operational efficiencies and profitability
- Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
**Experience:**
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, with experience in healthcare discipline preferred, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating detailed knowledge of OSHA and/or EPA-RCRA and/or U.S. DOT, and/or The Joint Commission Standards
- 3+ years of experience in the healthcare industry, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating excellent working knowledge of medical waste issues and the healthcare industry, and consultative skills to effectively deal with customers. Candidate is confident with public speaking duties
- Demonstrates the ability to work well with others, and provide excellent customer service, both internally and externally
- Demonstrates the ability to identify and understand customer needs; takes appropriate actions to ensure customer needs are met while also meeting Stericycle expectations
- Demonstrates the ability to present ideas/information in a clear, concise, organized, and diplomatic manner; asks appropriate questions to obtain information; listen to others to respond effectively to ideas and questions.
