Responsibilities:

Under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director, the RCP II is responsible for performing respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician. Emphasis will be toward the assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care, with consideration of age and population specific needs and requirements of the patient. In the absence of a supervisor, may be assigned/identified as Lead RCP, having responsibility for the section or department during their shift.

Qualifications:
  1. State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required.
  2. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  3. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
  4. 2 years experience as an RCP preferred.
  5. ACLS certificate within 60 day of hire and maintain current.
  6. NRP certificate preferred.
  7. PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
  8. Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
  9. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Summary:

The Mental Health Therapist II apply graduate-level counseling skills/social work as an independently licensed staff as stipulated by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. The duties performed include the psychosocial assessment of individuals, adolescents, families, and groups and the provision of graduate-level clinical social work/counseling interventions as appropriate to client needs in the context of the department.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conducts initial comprehensive patient and family psychosocial assessment, and triages care accordingly.
  2. Communicates with staff regarding assessment, treatment/interventions and interdisciplinary care plan through documentation and meetings such as patient rounds.
  3. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide competent care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
  4. Provides case management for assigned patients that involves consultation and collaboration with hospital and community professionals and programs in order to provide the most appropriate and comprehensive care.
  5. Consistent use of evidence-based trauma and risk assessment tools and application of crisis intervention skills when indicated, and determine formally the need for a referral to the Emergency Department or more suitable community agency.
  6. Ethical and timely completion of documentation as expected in the context of the department.
  7. Other duties as required.

Outpatient Add On:

  • Complete Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions in addition to other clinical evidence-based treatment modalities to assist patient and families in the completion of their individualized service plans.
PHP/IOP Add On:
  • Use of CBT and DBT (Dialectical Based Therapy) intervention through individual, group, and family therapy, to support client in achieving therapeutic goals.
PIRC Add On:
  • Works in a fast-paced environment conducting risk assessments and using crisis intervention skills as needed.
  • Triage and assess intake calls received from families and community referral sources. Conducts preliminary diagnostic assessment over telephone to assess the need for services for children and adolescents seeking psychiatric and psychological services.
  • Conducts comprehensive risk assessment either face to face in the ED or through telehealth to maximize continuity of care with the family.
  • Engages in consultation and collaboration with hospital and community professionals and programs in order to develop and communicate a crisis treatment plan for patients and families and provides recommendations for follow-up.
Substance Use Add On:
  • Use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy intervention as well as other evidence-based practices, such as Motivational Interviewing.
  • Involve family in therapy sessions and provide behavior modification techniques as clinically indicated.


Other information:

Technical Expertise

1. Experience working with electronic medical record software, such as EPIC, is preferred.

2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.

3. Experience providing clinical services through telehealth is preferred.

Education and Experience

1. Education: Master's Degree in Social Work or Clinical Mental/Behavioral Health Counseling is required.

Cleveland Clinic Children's is actively recruiting primary care pediatricians to join our outpatient practice at the Cleveland Clinic Wooster Family Health Center. The scope of work is outpatient only and after-hours phone calls are triage by our nurse-on call.

The ideal candidate is passionate about pediatric primary care and particular weight will be given to candidates recognized locally or regionally for his/her experience and accomplishments in clinical care.
Limited outpatient clinical teaching of medical students is expected and may expand as desired. Research, quality improvement, innovation, administrative, and leadership opportunities can be developed and supported. There is also ample opportunity for engagement within the community with civic and non-profit organizations.
Board certification, or eligibility in Pediatrics, and eligibility for licensure in Ohio are required. A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments is available at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University and Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Cleveland Clinic Children's has a staff of more than 170 pediatric primary care physicians and advanced practice providers who serve children from birth to young adulthood at convenient locations throughout northern Ohio. This 75,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art expansion, built on 16 acres one-half mile north of the original building, broadens the scope of specialty services offered by Cleveland Clinic Wooster staff. The new facility houses physicians representing the following specialties: audiology, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, medical oncology/hematology, orthopaedics, otolaryngology, podiatry, radiation oncology, radiology and urology. In the future, otolaryngology and audiology services will be added. A community room offers space for health education seminars The original Wooster Clinic building houses 24 primary care specialists, including internal medicine and family medicine specialists, pediatricians, and obstetricians and gynecologists. Three specialties are also located in this building: dermatology, pulmonology and psychology. A hospitalist at Cleveland Clinic Wooster follows patients admitted by internist colleagues to Wooster Community Hospital. General radiology services are also provided at the original building for patients' convenience.
