Educates new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma. Explains the screening process, the health screening tests performed, the appointment system, donation fees, center policies, proper nutrition and any other information pertinent to the donor. Ensures that all donors' questions are answered timely, accurately and professionally. Maintains alertness to any reaction by donors and assists with reactions or notifies appropriate staff. Uses Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents that occur during the pheresis process, such as machine alerts and alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events. Provides guidance and technical training about processes and procedures to donor floor and other staff as required. Monitors donor flow on the donor floor to assure continuous turnover. Allocates resources to address donor backlog. Performs calibrations and verifies that maintenance has been performed as outlined in SOPs. May respond to and resolve complex equipment alarms or donor issues. Troubleshoots equipment failures, including creating incident documentation, removing and/or replacing equipment from service. Responsible for changing supply lot numbers in the electronic donor information management system when new lot number is introduced into production. Supports center management by providing input into staff scheduling, and resolves minor donor relations and technical procedure issues. Refers employee relations issues to center management team staff. Ensures the accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in SOPs. Understands the policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center if applicable. Maintains clean efficient work environment, and ensures sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed. Follows all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures. Promotes safety in all actions. May conduct routine audits of these internal procedures and documentation. Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information. May be cross-trained in other areas to meet the needs of the business. Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization, to meet the needs of the business. Mission/Objective

To Provide Leadership and direction to Metalsa Teammates through the Metalsa Model to support our customer.

What does your day look like?
  • Proactively improve safety in plant to achieve plant goal of 0 accidents
  • Facilitate and develop topics for communication at daily safety and area meetings
  • Champion timely resolution of all safety concerns and/or near misses
  • Work with maintenance to ensure equipment has proper PM and are safe to operate
  • Enforce area and plant safety procedures
  • Work closely with quality area to create and maintain systems that ensure quality products
  • Support teammates in their efforts to consistently exceed customer expectations
  • Communicate potential quality concerns and maintain customer and TS requirements
  • Enforce area and plant quality procedures, and monitor and track quality activities for production area

  • Plan ahead changeovers to minimize disruption of production

Description

NewLimit is seeking an immunologist or synthetic biologist with leadership experience in therapeutics to lead our Immunology team. Our Immunology program is developing reprogramming medicines to restore youthful function in aged T cells for the treatment of inflammatory & infectious diseases.

As the leader of the Immunology team, you will:

  • Lead a team of Scientists and Research Associates to develop reprogramming therapies
  • Develop functional assays and pre-clinical models for inflammatory and infectious disease indications
  • Evaluate reprogramming payloads using functional assays & pre-clinical models to validate payloads, select leads, and progress pre-clinical candidates
  • Collaborate with our Single Cell Technology, Epigenetic Editing, and Predictive Modeling teams to design, build, and test reprogramming interventions
  • Contribute to NewLimits product development decisions, company-wide goals, and technology platform. You will be a key part of building the company in addition to your team.
  • Contribute to day-to-day execution alongside your team. Everyone Executes at NewLimit.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in cell biology, immunology, or a related field or comparable industry experience
  • Experience leading a team and managing direct reports
  • Experience with therapeutics development, ideally leading a portion of a discovery or development process in an immunology, infectious disease, or inflammatory disease setting
  • Deep knowledge of immunology & lymphocyte biology
Nice to have
  • Direct experience with T cell biology, including relevant functional assays, pre-clinical models, and experimental methods
  • Experience with in vivo nucleic acid delivery technologies
  • Experience with pooled screening and related functional genomics methods
  • Strong molecular biology foundations and experience designing transgenic constructs
  • Experience with iterative product development cycles (e.g. design-build-test-learn)
  • Knowledge of aging biology, computational biology, and machine learning

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Research Group Leader to drive innovation and lead a talented team of researchers focused on the extension, use, and integration of biological foundation models to solve the most important biomedical and biological problems. You will play a critical role in advancing our mission to revolutionize biology and medicine through the power of Generative AI.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of research scientists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Work with the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) and other leaders to drive the research strategy and objectives for your group, aligning with the broader company goals.

Lead partnerships with industry and academic teams focused on the use, integration and extension of the foundation models developed by GenBio to derive novel insights into biological and biomedical systems and processes.

Analyze and interpret complex data, drawing meaningful conclusions and identifying potential breakthroughs.

Prepare and present research findings at internal meetings, scientific conferences, and in peer-reviewed publications.

Stay abreast of the latest advancements in relevant scientific fields and integrate new knowledge into research projects.

Collaborate effectively with our engineering and product teams and with other stakeholders across the organization.

Lead the writing and publication of high-quality papers demonstrating the success of GenBio's AI approach.

Contribute to the intellectual property strategy of the company through invention disclosures and patent applications.

Ensure adherence to high scientific standards and best practices within the research group.

Qualifications:

PhD in Computer Science, Computational Biology, or related area with at least 5 years of post-doctoral experience, OR an MSc in a relevant field with at least 10 years of relevant research experience.

Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, including managing and mentoring research scientists or a similar technical team (this could include experience leading projects, supervising students/postdocs, or managing a small team in industry).

A strong track record of research accomplishments, evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference presentations, and/or relevant industry achievements.

Deep knowledge and expertise in the design and use of foundation models for biology.

Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in both academic and industry research settings.

Experience with the use of AI to address systems biology questions.

Experience in working and integrating multiple biological modalities.

Experience in securing research funding (e.g., grants, collaborations).

Familiarity with software engineering best practices and collaborative development environments.
