Job Purpose

  • Leadership of process engineering through business plan development/implementation
  • Oversee all aspects of process engineering and developing schedules to ensure adherence to deadlines and business goal achievement
  • Department process engineer expert for MP and New Model process efficiency and positive impact to business characteristics.

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversight of process engineering schedules and goal setting
  • Data analysis for identification of improvement activities.
  • Lead and Support department wide problem analysis and prevention activities for mass production process.
  • AF core systems expert (PDDA - process data development and analysis, EOS - electronic operations standards, &c)

Job Purpose

Lead the regional manufacturing process systems function team providing day-to-day, hands-on team leadership, development, execution and support promoting system standardization and diffusion across North American manufacturing plants ensuring robust, repeatable and controlled processes are in place to improve business value and plant characteristics enhancement. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of process systems (includes PDDA, EOS, MDRS) and standards strategies including plans and targets to sustain and improve the business operating capabilities for the NA region.
  • Lead regional improvement to standardized system processes, work standards and methods to support the sustainment and governance of all aspects of the manufacturing process systems. 
  • Lead projects/themes of varied complexity and scope through collaboration with team (plant, IT, regional engineering) including current system enhancements and feasibility studies for future products. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT/Engineering/MFG) to ensure system standards are created, documented and sustained.
  • Lead regional process systems and standardization collaboration activities with stakeholders for NA region through regular meetings 
  • Set goals, track deliverables, manage expectations and workload, identify risk and mitigate across all stages of assigned systems tasks and projects.
  • Mentor and assist in the development of team members.
  • Effectively sell ideas, collaborate and build consensus across HDMA/Div/Dept./Unit.  

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (related discipline as appropriate) or equivalent related experience
  • 8+ years relevant experience, preferably manufacturing experience with a focus in process engineering area
  • In-Depth understanding of manufacturing processes. (AF, PA, WE, ST)
  • Working knowledge of the following systems is desired (PDDA, EOS, MDRS)
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams
  • Strong verbal and written skills to communicate effectively both with customers and internal project teams
  • Business acumen in a technical environment

Design processes for safe and efficient automotive frame assembly. Use analytic tools and traditional industrial engineering methods to optimize Assembly Line production functions

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in developing a balanced process across manufacturing areas using Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (M.O.S.T.). Apply lean manufacturing techniques to support process efficiency and meet Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale (SQCDM) targets. Design and implement processes that are simple and effective.
  • Audit and maintain data to ensure accurate information across all operations standards. Perform basic time estimates for production processes and equipment loads. Support the develop and refinement of operation standards.
  • Support Stamping / Plastics Department Lead for Process Data Development and Analysis (PDDA), Managed Detection and Response System (MDRS), Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) systems. Participate in meetings with Honda functional groups to discuss improvement themes in Quality, Safety, Delivery, Production, Purchasing, Packaging, or Logistics.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste within the process and improve efficiency. Apply 5S work methods, workstation design, and set best practices for production.
  • Evaluate and implement ergonomic countermeasures to prevent associate injury.
  • Assist in developing plans and schedules for projects. Support New Model Events by incorporating change points into process design, and identifying concerns and countermeasure before mass production.
  • Maintain accurate AutoCAD department layout. Read Parts drawings, Spec Notices, 3D CATIA data.

Job Purpose

Analyze drawings from feasibility through design phase to achieve a product that can be manufactured within the factory’s capabilities. Lead Manufacturing Mangement Center (MMC) to prepare and execute new model development and Trial Stage. Improve technical tasks and project targets from a technical viewpoint for product design. Lead entry level engineers through mentorship.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct studies and detailed confirmations of new technologies, design concepts and manufacturing processes.
  • Technical Lead for designated category of parts. Lead correlation of design verifications and represent department in global verification check alignment with Japan. Assure horizontal communication of past problem history across designated category of parts.
  • Lead meetings and technical reviews to develop the most efficient manufacturing process (easy to manufacture, reduced Manpower, error proofing, built in quality, reduced ergo red, efficient part delivery).
  • Ensure a robust process design for mass production combining manufacturing requirements, factory characteristics and project targets.
  • Through the New Model development, help create and maintain all documents necessary for process, quality, robot/equipment, and training.
  • Support physical verification of the vehicle during initial production at the factory. Understand the factory capability and constraints.
  • Lead and support collaborative problem-solving activity with team members from your group and other business unit's including Design, Engineering and Buhin (purchasing).
  • Develop capability of self, colleagues, and team through training, mentoring, and sharing of experiences in area of technical expertise. Assure technical know-how is developed for designated part category.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Technology, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering etc. or equivalent related experience
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Excel, Power Point, Catia, Read Drawings, Honda Inventory Managemt system, Countermeasure Request Form knowledge, Part Drawing structure, Drawing creation (Minimum Level of Support), Manufacturing Mangement Center (MMC)constraints

Job Purpose

Develop the North America Quality Management System (QMS) including identification/resolution of business practice concerns, assuring compliance to ISO9001, and assuring compliance to government Conformity of Production (CoP) requirements. 
 
Key Accountabilities

  • As a regional function, develop, maintain, and assure adherence to the North American Quality Management System (QMS) through leadership of the Regional Quality Standardization committee.
  • Identify and resolve issues to improve business practices involving QMS compliance by leading working groups with QMS representatives and subject matter experts.
  • Integrate requirements for improvements from internal sources such as ISO9001 compliance audits, risk assessments, and regular PDCA, as well as external sources such as normal warranty issues, recalls, government audits and external ISO9001 compliance audits.
  • Strategically lead the development of solutions through guided expert recommendations to plant and business unit QMS representatives while building horizontal consensus across all HDMA locations for consistent application. 
  • Build consensus with all levels of management in the North American factories and business units to determine how to change business operations to improve quality.
  • Good understanding of Global Honda Quality Standards (GHQS) and how they apply to North America.
  • Develop clear QMS supplements, standards and procedures.
  • Compliance with ISO9001
  • Lead auditor for ISO9001 internal audits and support external audits.  
  • Negotiate with auditors on technical merits of C/M ideas.
  • Create analysis reports.
  • Lead and direct other departments to investigate/resolve non-conformities.
  • Review and confirm effective countermeasures for audit results.
  • Compliance with Government Regulation 
  • Develop control plans to assure compliance to government Conformity of Production (CoP) requirements for countries requiring CoP or applying UN regulations (EU, China, Russia, Japan, Australia, Mexico, Morocco, Tunisia, etc.).
  • Collaborate with factory Assistant Chief Inspecting Engineers (ACIE’s) to implement control plans and prepare for government audits.  
  • Lead government audits to allow sale of our products in countries requiring CoP.
  • Develop countermeasures to identified Gov't Regulation conformity concerns using Honda problem solving methods.
  • Regional System Owner / Administration
  • Administer and maintain systems required to manage the QMS, audit plans, non-conformities, training, and records (IntellaQuest: ISOQuest, DocuQuest, PeopleQuest, RecordQuest, AuditQuest, etc.).
  • Plan and implement improvements with suppliers and Honda IT.

 
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; or equivalent and strongly-related experience
  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, ISO9001, and Related Government Regulations.


 Workstyle

  • Some remote work is acceptable for this position (hybrid).
  • Frequent domestic travel and occasional international travel (Canada, Mexico)
  • Expected 10-20 hours of overtime per week as needed.

Job Purpose: 

A Project Manager for Equipment Production department is responsible for executing New Model and/or Business Plan project activity across design, manufacturing, quality, and production in achieving the new model quality, cost, and delivery targets which are critical to the success of New Model launch at the production site for large or multi-plant full model change (FMC) or minor model changes (MMC) while under the guidance of the Unit Lead or assigned mentor. You will be expected to influence cross-functional Honda teams within the department and respective plant locations with support/direction from the Unit Lead or assigned mentor.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the execution of Equipment New Model (NM) and Business Plan (BP) Projects to achieve the project general schedule and specified action plan. Use technical expertise to develop Project Specified Action Plan (SAP) and develop resolutions to schedule delays/concerns from manufacturing overlaps from tool sets and projects with guidance from Unit Lead or assigned mentor
  • Collaborate and lead communications with all required entities across Production Engineering Business Unit (PEBU), Global and Local Honda (Manufacturing Management Center , Accounting, Purchasing, etc.), Honda Engineering of Japan, Local and Global Suppliers. Communicate project status to all levels of management. Drive daily/weekly meetings and coordinate with support groups and other Auto Development Center (ADC) Business Unit’s.
  • Lead the execution of maturation adjustment activities to meet build events and mass production dates. Use technical expertise to provide guidance and/or direction on action achievement.
  • Lead and chair evaluations based on Technical and Management evaluation requirements during the execution phase. Expected to develop expertise and build proficiency in New Model evaluation content.
  • Resolve issues and conflicts that arise during the project so that project goals and targets can be successfully achieved. Expected to negotiate and influence outcomes with cross functional teams, suppliers, Japanese counterparts with the guidance of the Unit Lead or assigned mentor.
  • Monitor Plant activities to proactively identify issues and develop countermeasures to improve Plant Characteristics, Competitiveness, and KPI achievement
  • Statement of Work (SOW), including acceptance criteria, for Outside Supplier
  • Expected to grow New Model knowledge, skill, develop expertise, and build proficiency in New Model activity.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in design, manufacturing, and/or maturation methods for equipment manufacturing or relevant years of experience in Engineering/Production
  • MS Office, Communication – Public Speaking/Presentation skills, Problem solving and decision making, & Interaction with executive level management. Total Quality Management (TQM) style analysis and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Need to be comfortable on Plant Floor Production area, open office, and meeting room
  • Short to moderate periods of high workload based on needs of overlapping projects
  • Domestic and International travel as needed. 10% of the time.

Job Purpose

Design processes for safe and efficient automotive frame assembly. Use analytic tools and traditional industrial engineering methods to optimize Assembly Line production functions

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in developing a balanced process across manufacturing areas using Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (M.O.S.T.). Apply lean manufacturing techniques to support process efficiency and meet Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale (SQCDM) targets. Design and implement processes that are simple and effective.
  • Audit and maintain data to ensure accurate information across all operations standards. Perform basic time estimates for production processes and equipment loads. Support the develop and refinement of operation standards.
  • Support Stamping / Plastics Department Lead for Process Data Development and Analysis (PDDA), Managed Detection and Response System (MDRS), Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) systems. Participate in meetings with Honda functional groups to discuss improvement themes in Quality, Safety, Delivery, Production, Purchasing, Packaging, or Logistics.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste within the process and improve efficiency. Apply 5S work methods, workstation design, and set best practices for production.
  • Evaluate and implement ergonomic countermeasures to prevent associate injury.
  • Assist in developing plans and schedules for projects. Support New Model Events by incorporating change points into process design, and identifying concerns and countermeasure before mass production.
  • Maintain accurate AutoCAD department layout. Read Parts drawings, Spec Notices, 3D CATIA data.
  • Create charts and presentations to report status and plans for key department metrics.
  • Collect feedback from the production floor and address their concerns. Provide project support for all items impacting Assembly Department associate process

Qualifications/Experience/Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing) or previous work experience of 6 years that is equivalent.

Minimum Experience: 0-6 years of experience based on education

Other Job-Specific Skills: Excel VBA, Standard Time Evaluation, Workstation Design, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Customer Service.

Working Conditions

  • Generally first shift production hours, occasional split/second shift support required. 0-5 hours overtime weekly.

Job Purpose

Analyze drawings from feasibility through design phase to achieve a product that can be manufactured within the factory’s capabilities. Lead Manufacturing Mangement Center (MMC) to prepare and execute new model development and Trial Stage. Improve technical tasks and project targets from a technical viewpoint for product design. Lead entry level engineers through mentorship.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct studies and detailed confirmations of new technologies, design concepts and manufacturing processes.
  • Technical Lead for designated category of parts. Lead correlation of design verifications and represent department in global verification check alignment with Japan. Assure horizontal communication of past problem history across designated category of parts.
  • Lead meetings and technical reviews to develop the most efficient manufacturing process (easy to manufacture, reduced Manpower, error proofing, built in quality, reduced ergo red, efficient part delivery).
  • Ensure a robust process design for mass production combining manufacturing requirements, factory characteristics and project targets.
  • Through the New Model development, help create and maintain all documents necessary for process, quality, robot/equipment, and training.
  • Support physical verification of the vehicle during initial production at the factory. Understand the factory capability and constraints.
  • Lead and support collaborative problem-solving activity with team members from your group and other business unit's including Design, Engineering and Buhin (purchasing).
  • Develop capability of self, colleagues, and team through training, mentoring, and sharing of experiences in area of technical expertise. Assure technical know-how is developed for designated part category.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Technology, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering etc. or equivalent related experience
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Excel, Power Point, Catia, Read Drawings, Honda Inventory Managemt system, Countermeasure Request Form knowledge, Part Drawing structure, Drawing creation (Minimum Level of Support), Manufacturing Mangement Center (MMC)constraints

Working Conditions
