Get to Know the Opportunity:
Voya Financial is looking for a Senior Auditor who will be responsible for leading the daily progress of internal audits within the Wealth Management Line of Business (LOB) of Voya Financial (Voya). The Senior Auditor is responsible for evaluating risk and controls, designing audit procedures, testing of internal controls, testing compliance with established policies and procedures and identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency. This is a new position that has been created to support Voya's growing Wealth Management business.
Please Note: This position has been designated as a hybrid-office/home role with an expectation of 3 days a week in Voya's Boston office.
The Contributions You'll Make:
- Perform the planning and scoping for audits for the LOB by preparing process flows/narratives of major processes within the areas being audited to ensure proper identification of risks, key controls, and the development of appropriate testing strategies
- Ensure adequate audit testing of key controls in the LOB by:
- Developing the audit program
- Performing and documenting testing of key controls
- Reviewing audit testing performed by other team members
- Reviewing and/or preparing audit issues if exceptions are identified
- Reviewing and/or preparing draft audit reports
- Discuss audit recommendations and reports for the LOB with Voya management
- Monitor the client's progress/resolution efforts of issues in the LOB and follow up with management to ensure that unresolved control matters are being addressed
- Perform business review activities as well as assist with special projects as assigned by management
- Lead with passion and clarity while collaborating with peers to achieve team objectives
- Responsible for personal and team development through enhancement of business knowledge, professional skills, and contribution to the audit performance evaluation process
- Ability to travel as needed to locations across US potentially
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree with a major/minor or emphasis in Accounting, Finance and/or Business is required.
- Advanced degree (MBA) and/or professional certification (CPA, CFA, CIA, CISA, etc.) is desirable.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience within the broker dealer, investment advisory, asset management industries. Relevant experience in a public accounting, consulting or internal audit environment will be strongly considered.
- Knowledge of broker dealer operations and compliance matters (FINRA, SEC) highly preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with product offerings within the Wealth Management industry such as mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, alternative investments, IRAs, annuities, and financial planning services preferred.
- Knowledge of internal controls, business and IT processes, and IIA standards.
- Knowledge and understanding of Accounting/Financial Risk, Market & Credit Risk, IT Risk and Regulatory/Compliance Risk.
- Experience with data analysis (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and AI/GenAI/Agentic AI tools (e.g. Copilot) preferred.
- Excellent organizational, project management, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
