Job Description

The Radiology Technologist performs x-ray scans of patient's internal anatomy to aid physicians in diagnosing illnesses, diseases, or injuries. Executes radiologic services in compliance with relevant laws and regulations and provides consultation advice to patients and radiology professionals. Delivers patient care and education before, during and after diagnostic imaging procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Appropriately positions radiographic equipment or x-ray film to produce images with necessary detail or contrast to assist with diagnosis and treatment.
  • Explains radiographic procedure to the patient, obtains complete and accurate history relevant to the examination to being performed.
  • Communicate effectively with the patient.
  • Provides staff and patient protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards, including placement of shields/aprons in order to limit radiation exposure.
  • Implements and monitors local, state and national regulations, standards, requirements and clinical protocols for radiologic imaging services.
  • Maintains x-ray equipment by performing scheduled cleaning/tests and documents results.
  • Maintains and updates patient and study information to ensure billing and RIS/PACS accuracy; handles patient records while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Performs other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor or manager, including those related to quality assurance and/or control.
  • Responsible for maintaining continuing education required for licenses and job positions
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) program or current validated Registry from ARRT in Radiology Technology (R). ARRT (R), (CT) Preferred.
  • CPR Certification is required

  • Maintains MRI equipment by performing scheduled cleaning, testing and documenting results; notifies supervision of malfunctioning equipment.
  • Implements MRI safety guidelines and conducts proper MRI safety during the imaging process.
  • Performs other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor or manager, including those related to quality assurance and/or control.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution or advanced clinical degree
  • Board certification in a relevant specialty if applicable.

  • Experience with quality improvement and regulatory compliance.

Salary Range

$243,472.62 to $346,948.48

The locations within this region include: Jefferson Cherry HillJefferson StratfordJefferson Washington TownshipMRI Technologist Under the supervision of a radiologist, the MRI Technologist performs a variety of magnetic resonance imaging procedures and scanners to produce detailed tissue images for medical diagnosis. Prepares pertinent information for physician and care team's review, and delivers patient care and education before, during and after diagnostic imaging procedures. Jefferson Abington Radiology, part of Enterprise Radiology and Imaging Clinical Shared service at Jefferson Health, Philadelphia, is expanding their team of radiologists. Abington Radiology provides community radiology services in Montgomery and Bucks counties for two local hospitals, as well as three outpatient imaging centers.

Applicants must be training in or have completed a breast imaging fellowship/embedded fellowship to be considered. There is a close working relationship with academic radiologists in the Department of Radiology at Thomas Jefferson University.
