The Boston office of SmithGroup is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

Working with us, you will:

1. Serve as the engineering leader through all stages of a project of any size and play a larger role in the marketing of the studio and management of the discipline.
2. Conduct building and systems assessments of existing facilities and develop strategies for upgrades and replacements in the context of future growth and expansion.
3. Lead and perform analysis, design, and documentation of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and controls.
4. Assist in establishing project goals, budgets, and schedules, track project performance, and follow/enforce quality control procedures.
5. Meet with clients, project teams, code officials, contractors, and others to address mechanical discipline issues and to develop effective working relationships.
6. Present engineering design solutions to client representatives and/or design review committees.
7. Serve as a mechanical systems specialist, conduct research in problem areas of considerable scope/complexity, and devise solutions.

An ideal candidate has:

1. A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent.

3. The ability to apply critical thinking to develop conceptual design solutions in the early stages of Project Planning.
