As a Health Services Supervisor at Universal Studios Hollywood, you will be an integral part of the team dedicated to ensuring the health and safety of our guests, team members and vendor partners. Your role, alongside the other team supervisor and manager, is to lead our team of nurses, emergency medical technicians, and paramedics. They are responsible for delivering exceptional guest service through compassionate and prompt first aid care to our guests, as well as preventive and post-injury occupational health care to our team members. You will also be involved in supporting occupational health initiatives and collaborating with various departments to maintain a safe work environment and drive continuous process improvement for delivery of health services to the guests and Team Members at Universal Studios Hollywood. As the Supervisor, you will also play a key role in emergency situations, responding to and supporting your team in the field and collaborating with other internal and external business partners in incident response coordination and recovery after emergency incidents.
Responsibilities:
+ Team Leadership: Provide leadership and support to a team of medical professionals who deliver prompt and effective first aid and medical care to guests and team members of the theme park and entertainment complex.
+ Support Occupational Health Services: Assist EHS in the implementation and management of occupational health programs, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
+ Collaborate with Departments: Work closely with Park Operations, Security, Human Resources, and a variety of other departments to ensure seamless health services integration.
+ Emergency Response: Participate in emergency response activities, coordinating with business partners and external agency response organizations following established protocols.
+ Record-Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate medical records, incident reports, and other documentation. Track and report health services statistics to management using management systems and tools for record-keeping and reporting. Conduct regular reviews of records for accuracy, identify gaps, and develop and implement processes for continuous improvement.
+ Training and Development: Assist in developing and delivering training programs for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in health services.
+ Policy & Procedure Development: Assist with developing, implementing, and reviewing protocols, SOPs, and health policies to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. Stay updated on regulatory changes and translate them into practical updates to department operations.
+ Technology & Systems Support: Train team members on health-related software and platforms used for case management, reporting, and scheduling. Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies that enhance service delivery.
+ Guest and Team Member Support: Address and resolve health-related or operational concerns from guests and team members, providing excellent internal and external guest service and support.
+ Safety and Compliance: Ensure all health services' operations comply with safety standards and regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits. Participate in the safety committee.
+ Budget Management: Support the creation and management of labor and non-labor budgets for the health services department. Partner with the Labor Support team on scheduling and payroll processes.
+ Mentorship and Leadership: Mentor and guide team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Provide feedback and corrective actions as needed.
+ Teamwork and Collaboration: Promote a culture of teamwork and collaboration within the Health Services Team and with business partners across the organization. Encourage open communication and cooperation to achieve common goals.
Qualifications/Certifications:
+ Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a health services or medical role, preferably in a team leadership or operations management capacity.
+ Current certification in first aid, CPR, AED.
+ Additional certifications such as RN, LVN, Paramedic, or EMT are preferred.

Qualifications :
  • Must be a Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse holding a valid California nursing license in good standing
  • Prefer two (2) years of experience working in a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE)
  • Prefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees
  • Able to obtain a valid Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) license
  • Able to effectively teach/train staff
  • Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Must pass a criminal background clearance before beginning work
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Able to obtain and maintain valid first aid and CPR certification

This position is full-time (40 hours/week), any day of the week. Hours are varied, could be day, evening, or overnight, and will be discussed during the interview. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Our office is located at 1420 S Central Ave., Glendale CA 91204. This position will be in the ER Admitting Department. 

This role will require the need to work all our three overnight shifts, which are 4pm to 2:30am, 6pm to 4:30am, 8pm to 6:30am, as scheduled.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of specific registration requirements for all areas, including but not limited to: Main Admitting, OP Registration, ED Registration, Maternity and Rehabilitation units
  • Ensures complete, accurate and timely entry of demographic information into the ADT system at the time of registration
  • Properly identifies the patient to ensure medical record numbers are not duplicated
  • Responsible for reviewing assigned accounts to ensure accuracy and required documentation is obtained and complete
  • Meet CMS billing requirements for the completion of the MSP, issuance of the Important Message from Medicare, issuance of the Observation Notice, and other requirements, as applicable and documenting completion within the hospital's information system for regulatory compliance and audit purposes
  • Collects and enters required data into the ADT system with emphasis on accuracy of demographic and financial information to ensure appropriate reimbursement
  • Carefully reviews all information entered in ADT on pre-registered accounts. Verifies all information with patient at time of registration; corrects any errors identified
  • Identify all forms requiring patient/guarantor signature and obtains signatures
  • Ensures all required documents are scanned into the appropriate system(s)
  • Identifies all appropriate printed material hand-outs for the patient and provides them to the patient/guarantor (Patient Rights and Responsibilities, HIPAA Privacy Act notification, Advance Directive, etc.)
  • Follows "downtime" procedures by manually entering patient information; identifying patient's MRN in the MPI database, assigning a financial number; and, accurately entering all information when the ADT system is live
  • Follows EMTALA-compliant registration steps for both Emergency Department and Labor and Delivery areas
  • Assesses self-pay patients for presumptive eligibility and when appropriate, initiates the process
  • In the Emergency Department follows protocol for special cases, including but not limited to 5150, Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), Domestic Violence patients, Child Protective Services, incarcerated patients, Worker Compensation patients, auto accidents, animal bite reporting, etc. as required

Responsible for the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines. Assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean working environment. Supports the organization commitment to the Quality Enhancement Program (QEP) and CQI Activities, including those related to patient satisfaction and actively participates in process improvement activities that enhance the likelihood that patients will achieve the organization Quality Enhancement Goals (QEP).
**PRINCIPAL** **DUTIES** **AND** **RESPONSIBILITIES:**
**Patient Related**
Education:
+ Assist other health care members in providing patient specific detailed education regarding adequacy measures where appropriate - Online Clearance Monitoring (OLC), Adequacy Monitoring Program (AMP), Urea Kinetic Modeling (UKM), and regarding disease process/access.
Treatment:
+ Welcome assigned patients and inquire as to their wellbeing since their last treatment.
+ Evaluate vascular access for patency, perform vascular access cannulation, and perform administration of heparin as delegated or as allowed by state Law.
+ Obtain necessary pre and post treatment vital signs and weight and perform vascular access evaluation pre- treatment
+ Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders including blood flow (QB) and dialysate flow (QD).
+ Evaluate intradialytic problems and provide intervention as prescribed by physician order or as directed.
+ Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy.
+ Obtain vital signs prior to reinfusion; perform all relevant functions necessary for the discontinuation of treatment - document.
+ Discontinue dialysis treatment according to established procedures and evaluate patient prior to termination of venous access - standing & sitting blood pressure
+ Obtain Hemostasis and apply appropriate dressings.
+ Evaluate the patient prior to discharge.
+ Perform and record Pre and Post dialysis evaluation, weight, and vital signs with initial identification
+ Responsible for calculating and entry of individual patients' dialysis machine programming for Ultrafiltration (UF) goal; treatment time; and UF modeling as prescribed.
+ Responsible for ensuring appropriate safety alarms are enabled, including Narrow Venous Limits, (NVL) 160.
+ Record accurate and timely information regarding vital signs and treatment parameters onto the Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet with initial identification
+ Responsible for accurate documentation of information related to patient treatment including completion of Hemodialysis Treatment Sheet and, if applicable, progress notes.
+ Report any significant information and/or change in patient condition directly to the registered nurse or supervisor.
+ Observe patient and conduct machine safety checks according to facility policy. Report any change or unusual findings to the registered nurse or supervisor.
+ Perform and document any intervention for unusual patient status and document patients' response to intervention.
+ Evaluate patients' vascular access during treatment including arterial and venous monitoring pressures, provide appropriate intervention as needed, document and report any unusual findings to the registered nurse or supervisor.
+ Obtain all prescribed laboratory testing and prepare specimens for collection.
+ Ensure that all blood spills are immediately cleaned with appropriate disinfectant according to facility policy.
+ Prepare, organize, and efficiently utilize supplies and equipment to prevent wastage.
+ Monitors patients performing self-care under the supervision of RN
**Staff Related**
+ Assists in training of applicable direct patient care staff on appropriate programs under the supervision of a nurse.
+ Collaborates with the Clinical Manager and Education Coordinator in driving organization quality standards through education regarding all ESRD regulatory and legal requirements and the practice of Continuous Quality Improvement.
+ Provides developmental support to applicable clinical and facility staff.
Education/Communication:
+ Participates in implementing educational programs for PCT staff including contests and other team-based programs.
+ Assists in monitoring processes in the delivery of patient care through regular Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
+ Follows all organization business policies, procedures and systems incorporated into training, including compliance with ethical business practices
+ Maintain environmental integrity and aesthetics - ensure all areas are safe and clean.
+ Clean and disinfect dialysis machine surface, chair, equipment, and surrounding area between treatments according to facility policy.
+ Conduct all tasks necessary for preparation for dialysis treatment and document where appropriate and perform all required pretreatment dialysis machine alarm testing including Pressure Holding (PHT).
+ Initiate Solution Delivery System (SDS) system.
**RECORD KEEPING:**
+ Complete and document ongoing participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
+ Enters all treatment data into the designated clinical application in an accurate and timely manner.
+ Review treatment sheets for completeness, ensure nursing signatures are documented, and ensure
omitted entries are completed or corrected by appropriate staff.
+ Prepare initial patient chart for admission and compile paperwork for appropriate placement in chart.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week), any day of the week. Hours are varied, could be day, evening, or overnight, and will be discussed during the interview. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Maintains up-to-date knowledge of specific registration requirements for all areas, including but not limited to: Main Admitting, OP Registration, ED Registration, Maternity and Rehabilitation units
+ Ensures complete, accurate and timely entry of demographic information into the ADT system at the time of registration
+ Properly identifies the patient to ensure medical record numbers are not duplicated
+ Responsible for reviewing assigned accounts to ensure accuracy and required documentation is obtained and complete
+ Meet CMS billing requirements for the completion of the MSP, issuance of the Important Message from Medicare, issuance of the Observation Notice, and other requirements, as applicable and documenting completion within the hospital's information system for regulatory compliance and audit purposes
+ Collects and enters required data into the ADT system with emphasis on accuracy of demographic and financial information to ensure appropriate reimbursement
+ Carefully reviews all information entered in ADT on pre-registered accounts. Verifies all information with patient at time of registration; corrects any errors identified
