Position Details:

  • No prior dialysis experience required - comprehensive training will be provided.

  • Standard schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week, with start times as early as 4:30 AM.

  • Training may occur at a different facility or designated training clinic other than your assigned home clinic.

  • Flexibility is essential - you may be required to float to various clinics both during and after the training period.

  • Candidates must have open availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What you can expect:

  • Direct Patient Care. Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.

  • Our PCTs care for multiple patients.

  • Technician Duties. To monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. Please note you will have exposure to blood and needles.

  • Building long-term relationships with your patients who are suffering from end stage renal disease and are receiving treatment on average 3 times/week. You will also be responsible for educating patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.

  • Team. Cross functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership. PCTs work under the supervision of a RN.

DaVita Kidney Care is bringing our industry-leading clinical quality to patients on-site at skilled nursing facilities (SNF) through a new team called DaVita Skilled Nursing Dialysis Services. Approximately 10% of all dialysis patients reside in a SNF and are transported to dialysis three times a week placing a significant burden on patients and adding significant avoidable costs to the health care system. DSD Services teammates will have access to all the capabilities and resources DaVita has to offer, and will work to quickly leverage these to develop the infrastructure and rapidly grow the new service line. What you can expect:

In this role, you take responsibility for the complete ongoing care of each patient to ensure their dialysis treatment stays on track.PCTs will work in conjunction with dialysis RNs to provide dialysis care.

Your primary work schedule will be a Full-Time position: The PCT will be based at our site in The Laurels of Huber Heights, and may be asked to support additional surrounding sites depending on business needs. Operations function Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Scheduled days will vary based on market needs.

Complexity: DSD Dialysis care is a complex but fulfilling service line. Meeting and/or exceeding clinical outcomes are the goals and multitasking is an expectation to meet the needs of the service, the patients and our SNF partners.

Autonomy and Critical Thinking: Provide comprehensive patient care in an independent setting. Plan to be on your toes at all times. You use your mind constantly. You apply your "core" skills to monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. Patient Care Coordinators are responsible for providing exceptional service by welcoming our patients and ensuring all check-in and checkout processes are completed.Acknowledge and greets patients, customer, and vendors as they walk into the practice, in a friendly and welcoming mannerAnswers and responds to telephone inquiries in a professional and timely mannerSchedules appointmentsGathers patients and insurance informationVerifies and enters patient demographics into EMR ensuring all fields are completeVerifies vision and medical insurance information and enters EMRMaintains a clear understanding of insurance plans and is able to communicate insurance information to the patientsPulls schedules to ensure insurance eligibility prior to patient appointment and ensures files are completePrepare insurance claims and run reports to ensure all charges are billed and filedPrint and prepare forms for patients visitCollects and documents all charges, co-pays, and payments into EMRAllocates balances to insurance as neededAlways maintains a clean workspacePractices economy in the use of _me, equipment, and suppliesPerforms other duties as needed and as assigned by managerHigh school diploma or equivalentBasic computer literacyStrong organizational skills and attention to detailStrong communication skills (verbal and written)Must be able to maintain patient and practice confidentialityBenefits401(k) with MatchMedical/Dental/Life/STD/LTDVision Service PlanEmployee Vision Discount ProgramHSA/FSAPTOPaid Holidays*Benefits applicable to full Time Employees only.Physical DemandsThis position requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, utilize equipment necessary to perform the job, and move about the office.
