Summary of Activities and ResponsibilitiesProgram Oversight & Compliance: Maintain and align program policies and procedures with organizational goals; assist the Director in ensuring compliance with licensing and accreditation standards; monitor monthly statistics using both quantitative and qualitative data; and support budget reporting, projections, and recommendations.
Staff Supervision & Development: Supervise and evaluate staff to ensure service quality and meet demand; ensure staff are following and meeting indirect client service requirements such as clinical documentation, administrative, and billing entry requirements; monitor training needs and progress toward individual and team goals.
Client Services & Issue Resolution: Provide direct client services as needed; manage escalated client care issues and resolve complaints.
Strategic Growth & Engagement: Assist with implementing program growth strategies; develop, manage, and participate in program events and required meetings.
Other Responsibilities: Participate in all required meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

As the leader for the licensing investigations team, some of the job duty and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead and manage licensing investigations to ensure compliance with state and organizational standards. Coordinate responses to licensing inquiries and document findings thoroughly. Implement corrective actions based on investigation outcomes. Collaborate with leadership to align investigation processes with broader program goals and quality assurance efforts.
Job RequirementsA Master's Degree in Social Work, equivalent degree or combination of degree and experience. Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) licensure strongly preferred Three years of experience in direct service with the target population is desired. A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, access to reliable transportation and a Motor Vehicle Check. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently, be organized and multi-task. Able to apply critical and strategic thinking to problem solve complex matters of concern. Ability to manage complex situations in the direct service of adoptive families.

HHS is responsible for working with families who have experienced abuse and neglect. You play a key role in preparing and supporting children and families to be successful. HHS, Family Well-Being and Protection Division, is seeking Child Protection Supervisors (Social Work Supervisors) to plan, direct and supervise a unit of social workers who conduct child abuse assessments and/or provide child welfare services. This is a full-time opportunity, Monday Friday with typical hours being from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with extra hours as needed including after-hours and weekend on-call rotation. These positions require an in-office presence to your assigned location and travel to various other offices within the Service Area to meet with staff, attend court hearings and meet with clients and families as needed. Mileage is paid at $0.50/mile travelled according to the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) State Accounting Enterprise Procedures. A valid driver's license is required; however, you may request to reserve a state vehicle if available.
This position will be domiciled (work location) in Cedar Rapids and will provide services in that and surrounding counties. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Coordination and implementation of goals and objectives to achieve desired outcomes
- Clinical supervision around case outcomes to assure the safety of children
- Communicating and adhering to current policy and procedure affecting the work

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of social work and work closely with our team to assist residents within a maximum-security facility. Our social worker interns are an integral part of the behavioral health department within the institution. Duties include completion of mental health assessments and treatment programs involving complex cases such as emotional and behavioral disorders along with follow up treatment planning and professional documentation, co-facilitating treatment programs, resident check-ins, coordination of services, and opportunities to observe and monitor case managers and/or treatment staff.
Internship duration: 400 hours to be completed from January - April.

Position Summary:
This internship provides social work students with hands-on experience in school-based settings, supporting middle school youth through NYJTL's afterschool programs. What You'll Do
As a HELP USA Social Work Intern, you'll work with one of our many programs that provide shelter and/or services to people currently or previously experiencing homelessness or seeking to prevent loss of their homes. You'll have a first-hand opportunity to learn about the many ways we're able to provide services to people in need by working directly with our clients and learning from your SIFI-certified supervisor. You'll also be able to participate in training and activities with other participants in our Internship Program, and you'll make great connections to grow your professional network. As an added plus, you'll have priority for job openings after you graduate!
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting intake interviews and assessments for new clients and collaborating with other members of the service team to formulate a service plan and provide clinical services, conducting biopsychosocial assessments when appropriate.
- Meeting with clients regularly and co-facilitating workshops and groups according to the population's needs.
- Advocating for clients and assisting in navigation of the service delivery system, serving as a liaison with various agencies, schools, health care providers, mental health providers, and employment training providers to ensure receipt of appropriate clinical and other services.
- Participating in team meetings, individual supervisory meetings, and case conferences, and documenting all work with and on behalf of clients.

Family Shelter
Our Family Shelters provide transitional housing for families with children who are experiencing homelessness. Each family has its own small apartment with a kitchen and bathroom. Our social services team works with each family to help identify the causes of their homelessness, develop an independent living plan, and find a home.
Our participating Family Shelters are located in:
- Bronx (Crotona l, Morris)
- Brooklyn (New Horizons)
- Queens (Anchor Inn)
HELP Haven provides emergency services, trauma-informed care, and a safe environment for women, men, and children who are survivors of domestic violence. The length of stay for families at Haven is generally six months, and single women and men stay about 90 days. Our social service, clinical, and housing teams work with each client to locate housing in a safe borough.
Our Domestic Violence Shelter is located in:
- Manhattan
HELP R.O.A.D.S. is a comprehensive, non-residential, individual and family safety program providing a variety of services designed to assist in empowering survivors of domestic violence, other crime victims, and their families. The program addresses the effects of abuse, neglect, and trauma and helps survivors and their families achieve safety and long-term stability.
Our participating Domestic Violence Program is located in:
- Brooklyn
Our Mental Health Programs provide therapeutic services to single men who have a mental health diagnosis or are experiencing mental health symptoms. The men reside in a congregate setting or a single unit, depending on their mental health needs. Our clinical, housing, and social service teams collaborate to assist with the stabilization of each individual's mental health needs in order to identify a concrete housing plan.
Our Mental Health Shelter is located in:
- Wards Island (aka Randall's Island), located between Manhattan & the Bronx (Clarke Thomas).
Our Supportive Housing Program provides supportive services to formerly homeless single adults with serious mental illness or co-occurring substance use. Our case management staff provides clinical care to the residents to support their journey to independent living and assist with community integration.
Our participating Supportive Housing Programs are located in:
- Brooklyn (HELP ONE, Genesis Homes)
Our Internship Program is open to first and second-year BSW/MSW students at the schools listed below.
This is an unpaid internship, and you must coordinate with your school to receive credit for your participation (we'll provide required documentation). We will work within your school's requirements to ensure you are scheduled for the number of hours and supervision as required by your program.
