Job Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of machine learning, data annotation, quality assurance, and natural language processing. They will play a pivotal role in updating our machine learning models and ensuring their efficacy.
MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Machine Learning Model Updates:
- Update training and test model databases with new or amended synthetic textual and image data.
- Modify and refine machine learning data creation, annotation, and rating guidelines.
- Initiate model training processes using internal tools and command-line interfaces.
- Evaluate the performance of trained models to gauge their efficacy and readiness for deployment.
- Design and develop test and training datasets as per the criteria provided by the project manager and other full-time employees.
- Handle data efficiently, ensuring its integrity throughout the workflow.
- Engage in data relevance tasks, ensuring data sets are aligned with project goals.
- Annotate data accurately, ensuring it adheres to set guidelines.
- Conduct manual quality analysis of model results.
- Recognize error patterns and report anomalies for further investigation.
- Deliver detailed reports on findings, including aspects such as utterance quality, LLM evaluation, ASR bug tracking, and customer pain points to be reviewed by the User Experience Research team.
- Implement basic quality control measures and ensure the reliability of processed data.
- Utilize intermediate data analysis techniques to extract insights and inform decision-making.
- Arbitrate discrepancies effectively, ensuring consistent data quality.
- Apply basic knowledge of natural language processing and linguistics to data processing tasks.
- Ensure linguistic accuracy in all processed and annotated data.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Linguistics or Computational Linguistics or a related field.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Location: Iraq
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible to provide comprehensive health services to DOS, DOD, and contractor personnel stationed in Iraq. The MLT performs lab tests and procedures, mostly comprising of microscopic, bacteriological, hematologic, immunologic, and chemical diagnostic analyses on samples of tissue, blood, urine, stool, synovial fluid and semen. The MLT looks for clues to the absence, presence, and extent of the causes and progression of diseases through accurate and efficient lab tests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing.
- Conduct routine and specialized tests in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean laboratory environment.
- Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with pathologists and other medical staff to interpret results and ensure quality patient care.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Actively participates in Mass Casualty exercises and events.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Minimum of 3 years recent experience as Medical Laboratory Technician including 6 months within the last year.
- Certified as a medical laboratory technician through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCALP) or the Board of Registry of the American Association of Bioanalysis (AAB).
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.
- Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology or related field.

- Conduct routine and specialized clinical laboratory tests-including chemistry, hematology, and immunology-following established guidelines.
- Ensure the accuracy of results through diligent analysis, troubleshoot discrepancies, and perform necessary preventative maintenance and calibration on laboratory equipment.
- Assist in the collection of specimens and preparation of samples for analysis as required.
- Thoroughly document all procedures, mentor new staff or students, and contribute to upholding the high-quality standards of the laboratory.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace, while complying with all regulatory and accreditation specifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent allied health qualification with preparation for ASCP/AMT certification.
- ASCP or AMT Board of Certification in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) to be acquired within the first year of employment.
- Ongoing maintenance of certification throughout your tenure with us.
