Lexington Medical Center is seeking a forward-thinking Designated Institutional Official (DIO) to provide strategic leadership and oversight of our growing Graduate Medical Education (GME) program. This position plays a critical role in maintaining institutional accreditation, fostering excellence in resident education, and guiding the continued expansion of our residency and fellowship programs. **Hours:** Monday-Thursday, 7:45am-5pm and Friday, 7:45am-12pm EST
**Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Greets patients in a professional and courteous matter
+ Directs patients to appropriate areas
+ Verifies and updates all patient demographic, employment, and insurance information with EACH visit
+ "Checks-in" all patients, gives patients medical forms to complete or update
+ Collects co-payments, deductibles, co-insurances, and outstanding balances, verifies insurance eligibility, verifies pre-authorizations were obtained (if applicable)
+ Collects payment, writes receipts, and posts payments
+ "Checks-out" all patients, schedules appointments for procedures, labs, and follow-up visits. Provides patient education for any prep information needed for procedures
+ Prepares information for the next day's appointment (if applicable)
+ Scans and files patient information as needed
+ Reconciles with the cash drawer daily and sends deposits to Department Manager
+ Retrieves and sorts of mail into appropriate boxes. Sorts and documents any returned mail
+ Maintains a good working relationship with practice staff members
