**Overview**
The Business Development Manager drives sales growth of assigned region in close coordination with WuXi Biology leadership. The Business Development Manager will have an additional focus on penetrating certain assigned customers with significant growth opportunity, as assigned by management. The incumbent of this role will close and implement growth opportunities with Companies in the assigned territory. The Manager, Business Development's most important means of interacting with customers and prospects is through face-to-face meetings and is responsible for achieving an assigned sales and profit goal.
**Responsibilities**
+ Identify key decision makers relative to WuXi Biology business for potential contacts
+ Daily prospecting to get new leads
+ Qualify leads and present opportunity(ices) to their manager and WuXi Biology technical team.
+ Facilitate business meeting with WuXi AppTec with proper agenda, attendees, focus on opportunity and follow-up; meeting summary and action items
+ Project professional image of WuXi Biology as solutions provider with clearly articulated messages
+ Support proposal negotiation to close contract as defined by supervisor
+ Point of contact for WuXi Biology and customer; ensure communication channels; pro-actively identify areas of growth opportunity; ensure stable relationship
+ Identify issues which could jeopardize partnership; pose solutions
+ Maintain excellent relationships with internal business partners at WuXi
+ Facilitate customer travels to China
+ Effective communication skills both internally and externally to ensure teamwork to achieve common goals across WuXi Biology unit and be open for mentoring to effective techniques and sales strategies
**Job Requirements:**

**Qualifications**
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in life sciences (preferably in biology or chemistry). with 3+ years of industrial experience and at least one year of business development experience preferred
- Experience in CRO is a plus/preferred
- This position requires frequent travel (car, train, plane)
- Candidates must have a valid driver's license and passport
- PC proficiency
**Technical Skills / Knowledge:**
- Demonstrates a broad understanding of discovery biology leading to candidate selection and preclinical development
- Able to close deals by effectively utilizing internal resources.

About the role

We're looking for a driven and curious Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing Sales team, reporting directly to the VP of Sales. In this role, you'll be on the front lines of HqO's growth - sparking new conversations, building relationships, and creating a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities. You'll play a key part in helping us achieve our sales, revenue, and market share goals.

This is a hybrid position based in our Boston office, with in-person collaboration at least three days per week (Tuesday–Thursday).

What you'll do

  • Generate pipeline: Drive a steady flow of qualified opportunities through targeted outreach, prospecting, and lead qualification.
  • Engage prospects: Use sales and engagement tools to run value-driven outreach and spark meaningful conversations with potential clients.
  • Tell the story: Clearly articulate HqO's value proposition, aligning stakeholder needs with the excitement of what we deliver.
  • Stay organized: Leverage HubSpot for accurate forecasting, reporting, and pipeline tracking to ensure full visibility into sales performance.
  • Educate the market: Introduce prospects to concepts like the Experience Gap, Real Estate Experience (REX), and Asset & Tenant Lifecycle Management
  • Build relationships: Develop and nurture industry connections that increase both lead generation and brand awareness.

What you bring

  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in sales development, business development, or a client-facing role (internships or relevant experience in tech/real estate a plus).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical skills: Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot preferred), sales engagement platforms, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  • Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to tell a compelling story and tailor messaging to different stakeholders.
  • Mindset: A self-starter with curiosity, resilience, and a growth mindset
  • Collaboration: Team-oriented approach; thrives in a hybrid environment with cross-functional colleagues.
  • Industry knowledge (bonus): Interest in PropTech, commercial real estate, or workplace experience solutions.

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Business Development Representative / Customer Success Representative to join our growing team. Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls, emails, and text messages with professionalism and urgency.

JOB SUMMARY

The Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a key role in helping Storyblok meet its growth goals and is part of the Sales organization. The BDR is the first point of contact for potential enterprise customers and is responsible for generating qualified pipelines by engaging prospects via multi-channel through the inbound and outbound channel. The BDR engages with and qualifies incoming leads sourced by the Marketing team. By educating ICPs on the problems Storyblok can solve, the main objective is to convert prospects into sales opportunities, grow a pipeline of potential business, and build rapport with senior stakeholders to develop great relationships between Storyblok and new customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Identify, generate, and qualify leads and prospects through inbound and outbound channel
  • Conduct high volume prospecting and engage with prospects through phone calls, emails and social media to generate quality opportunities for our Account Executives
  • Adept at cold calling, handling objections and booking meetings over the phone
  • Attend marketing events and conferences; network and build rapport with prospects
  • Nurture long term relationships with prospects; help mid-market and large enterprise companies realize the potential of our product
  • Develop new ideas and strategies for identifying and winning potential new customers
  • Work closely with Account Executive, align on pipeline generating strategies
  • Consistently exceed monthly and quarterly sales KPIs

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in outbound sales, preferably in software sales
  • Track record of achieving sales quota and generating new opportunities
  • Technical experience in the SaaS field (especially CMS) is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Experience with outbound sales tactics and sales tech stack
  • Accountable and strong drive to deliver results, work in sales and contribute to a fast-growing company
