**Job Summary:**
Under general supervision, the position is responsible for aggressively marketing the J.B. Hunt brand to develop new accounts and secure an established customer base. Responsible for the solicitation of business from new customers to build business volume according to the business needs. The incumbent will evaluate a customer's current transportation requirements (e.g., existing services, modes, lanes, and budgets) and propose a custom transportation solution from JB Hunt's product offerings. Accounts are typically mid-level and higher in terms of revenue, demand, volume, and/or complexity.
**Job Description:**
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Conduct lead generation activities for new and incremental business, including cold calling, networking, and other opportunity prospecting methods
+ Visit prospective and existing customers at their corporate headquarters or other sites as needed; Requires the ability to travel to customer sites to meet customer needs
+ Perform various activities related to Opportunity Management and monitoring the health of the account which includes, but is not limited to, Customer KPI review, revenue quality monitoring, watching for additional opportunities, contract and pay terms review to ensure adherence to agreement
+ Coordinate with internal teams and the customer to implement the customer's solution, including participation in kick-off
+ Meet with customers and prospective customers to discuss viable opportunities to understand their business needs, identify scopes, submit proposals, finalize the contracts, and win the business
**Qualifications:**
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ High School Diploma/GED with 4-5 years of sales or customer service experience and/or military equivalent experience
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, and/or related field with 2-3 years of experience and/or military equivalent experience and 2-3 years of management experience (where applicable)
+ Experience working in sales
+ Self-motivated
+ Ability to communicate effectively over the phone
+ Experience working in transportation
+ Ability to develop sales plans that are future-oriented, support business strategy, and reflect an understanding of emerging, as well as existing, opportunities and markets
+ Ability and willingness to seek out work and the drive to accomplish goals
+ Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers
+ Knowledge of the activities and responsibilities involved in selling a product or service
+ Ability to analyze customer activities, profiles, and information
+ Understanding of the importance of meeting or exceeding established targets and the ability to drive critical activities to completion

**Compensation:**
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
**Benefits:**
The Company offers the following benefits for full-time positions, subject to applicable eligibility requirements, as may be in effect from time to time: medical benefit, dental benefit, vision benefit, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, paid time off commensurate with tenure (includes vacation and sick time), six weeks of paid maternity leave along with two weeks of paid parental leave, and six paid holidays annually.

RUCKUS Networks, a CommScope BU, is seeking an experienced, technically capable, and results-driven Business Development Directorto drive growth within the **K-12 Education vertical** across North America and globally. You will collaborate closely with CommScope's field sales organization and partner ecosystem to identify, qualify, track, and help win large-scaleK-12 opportunities.
**How You'll help us connect the world:**
The ideal candidate brings deep understanding of K-12 networking challenges, public funding mechanisms (e.g., **E-rate** ), digital equity initiatives, and security infrastructure needs. You should be highly knowledgeable in CommScope technologies including **RUCKUS Wi-Fi** , switching, private LTE, and **copper and fiber connectivity infrastructure** , and comfortable engaging in both **consultative and technical sales** discussions with school districts, technology leaders, and state-level decision makers.
**Requirements:**
+ Serve as a **trusted advisor and subject matter expert** to the field sales team and partners, guiding strategic sales pursuits across the K-12 vertical and providing consistent forecasting of revenue and pipeline progress.
+ Respond to and support requests from CommScope and RUCKUS sales teams and partners engaged in **K-12 opportunities** , advising on contract vehicles (e.g., E-rate), cooperative purchasing strategies, and program alignment with education funding timelines.
+ Establish and nurture relationships with **ecosystem partners** (e.g., safety and classroom tech vendors, integrators, public sector consultants) to develop **joint reference architectures** that enhance CommScope's K-12 offerings.
+ Act as the **internal advocate for the K-12 business** , working cross-functionally with Marketing, Product Line Management, Engineering, and Finance to define and influence the solutions, programs, and features needed to serve this segment.
+ Help shape the **K-12 market strategy** , including vertical value propositions and tailored go-to-market models that align with school IT priorities like cybersecurity, hybrid learning, and student connectivity.
+ Develop technical enablement plans and build training content for sales and technical teams-internally and externally-to empower confident positioning of CommScope's K-12 portfolio.
+ Monitor and influence sales pipeline and revenue within RUCKUS to ensure geographies are delivering expected growth
**Required Qualifications:**
+ 10+ years of experience in business development or direct sales focused on **education, public sector, or technology solutions** -ideally with a strong understanding of the **K-12 education ecosystem** .
+ Proven ability to build executive relationships with **district CIOs, CTOs, superintendents** , and state education officials.
+ Strong understanding of **public funding models** including **E-rate** , **ESSER** , and state/local bond-funded technology modernization initiatives.
+ Experience as a **quota-supporting or quota-carrying** sales professional.
+ Deep strategic thinking and planning ability, with experience developing and executing go-to-market initiatives.
+ Skilled at navigating **matrixed organizations** , balancing collaboration with independent leadership.
+ Capable of leading discussions from **C-level strategy to technical architecture** .
+ Exceptional communication skills-both technical and conceptual, internal and external.
+ Recognized as a **thought leader** in education or public-sector networking-able to speak at events, participate in webinars, or support advocacy initiatives when needed.
Willingness to travel up to 50%, including potential for limited international engagements

Our salary ranges consider a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to benchmarking by independent third-party consultants, skill sets, years of experience, training, education, geography, and other business needs. Depending on experience, the range can be higher for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance. This position's expected total compensation (base salary and commission range) is $177,400-$220,000.00
The candidate will be rewarded with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, life and accidental death insurance, a 401(k) plan, and participation in the Company's Incentive Plan. Candidates starting with the Company will be eligible for eleven paid holidays in a full calendar year, two weeks of paid vacation (prorated based on start date), as well as other leave options.
