The Retail Vertical team in US Market Development seeks to advance commerce and strengthen relationships with key retail merchants the Discount & Department Store, Sporting Goods, Mass, Apparel and Luxury categories, while driving value for MasterCard and our customers through developing and articulating MasterCard's value proposition for merchants in the verticals.
The Director, Account Management for U.S. Market Development is responsible for all things Mastercard within our managed merchant base, including owning the relevant customer P&L's and driving strategic planning and solution selling, with an emphasis on Services, including SSO, and digital solutions through building and broadening our overall relationships at all levels of the merchant organization.
You will lead business development activities with a focus on select strategic merchants in the Retail vertical, including working with senior/C-level executives to build strong partnerships that support Mastercard's financial and strategic objectives.
Role
- Provide superior strategic account management driven by robust planning and retail knowledge - building a deep understanding of customer needs, defining creative solutions to meet those needs, and working effectively across internal functions to bring together the resources required to deliver enhanced value to the customer
- Identify and develop new business opportunities (with both existing and new customers) that provide the best potential for future business growth, and appreciable return on financial investments. Qualify opportunities before working with internal product experts & other stakeholders to then progress the sales process
- Support strategically significant organizational initiatives, including cross-selling of key Mastercard products, capabilities and solutions to deepen relationships
- Work with customers to build an in-depth understanding of their business and a point of view on how Mastercard solutions can address the needs of their business, leveraging internal stakeholders to efficiently move prospect through highly matrixed buy cycles
- Develop detailed business cases, including financial analysis/modeling, in support of merchant initiatives
- Negotiate, execute and manage the customer contract agreement process, ensuring global linkage of resources and information sharing
All About You
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
- Experience in the payments or technology business with exposure to retail issues or experience in the retail business with some responsibility for payments, co-brand, CRM and business development being desirable. Background in business development also relevant
- Demonstrated track record of planning, managing and closing complex, competitive sales efforts and delivering results in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and accuracy
- Dynamic, forward-thinking positive team player, adept at engaging and leveraging internal resources to achieve success and contribute to the wider team environment

Director, Technology Account Management
Overview:
The Technology Account Management (TAM) role, focused on external partners, is aligned with the Mastercard account teams. JOB SUMMARY

The Business Developer will report to the Vice President Sales and will work with the Sales Manager and outside sales team. **Summary**
The Business Development Manager for Marken is responsible for building up their defined territory and/or defined accounts by supporting and growing existing and new client relationships. Meeting these objectives includes the identification of potential accounts and opportunities, the formulation of specific account strategies, and the implementation of tactics that primarily result in new sales while building long-term productive customer-supplier relations. This position provides timely reports on activities, expenses, operations and forecast data for assessment of progress on meeting objectives. This position confers with other Marken Departments as well as Markens senior management to discuss quotations, project management and scheduling activities.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Meet or exceed goals for assigned accounts, territory or area.
+ Focus on growth of existing business and new customer sales by working to meet business goals set by management.
+ Build upon and maintain Marken's existing customer base through Customer Service, frequent client interaction and technical expertise
+ Lead and provide business support to client specific team(s) of Project Managers and Project Coordinators to ensure end-to-end customer satisfaction and accuracy of all jobs pertaining to clients' accounts assigned.
+ Lead, develop and provide innovative services and technical solutions to clients
+ Manage quote requests and client special requests
+ Facilitate, track and communicate job win / loss ratios & pursuit metrics for all assigned accounts by using Marken internal systems

+ Conduct market research and trend analysis reporting for all assigned and prospective accounts

About the role:
In this high-profile role you will be primarily focused on growing Mastercard's Fintech co-brand market share across the Americas, specifically focused on the Small Business segment, ensuring the BD teams are cultivating senior external relationships with prospects, key current fintech/core co-brand partners and consultants. Additionally, you will be responsible for helping to inform the sales pipeline for all forms of payment products (i.e. credit, debit, prepaid, SMB, etc) co-brand programs for fintech and digital partners. The day-to-day responsibilities include:
Establishing day to day and senior business partner relationships and collaborate with partners to create opportunities for new payments business.
Driving Mastercard revenue growth and creating strategic brand / payments deals.
Leading negotiations with partners and with internal stakeholders and develop terms sheets and contracts.
Continuing to evolve the internal/external sales process and relationships to ensure the "Why payments" and "Why Mastercard" story resonates across key payments partners and regions; this includes custom creative solutioning for partners and bundling of services assets as relevant.
Developing deals and running financial models for key partners while partnering with digital, issuer, merchant, and finance teams. Ensure offers are compelling / secures the deal while maintaining the best possible return for MA. Assist in negotiating in line with Mastercard's strategic priorities, revenue and profitability targets.
Maintain up-to-date research on key trends and players in the fintech and SMB space and assist with developing a framework for identifying viable SMB prospects and flip co-brand opportunities.
Create persuasive presentation documents (pitch decks) that showcase Mastercard's capabilities and align with partner needs in a customized and relevant manner; support customer pitches as needed.
Manage Salesforce records and contract management process (ironclad), ensuring all opportunities are consistently updated.
Collaborate with appropriate internal Mastercard teams (Finance, Product, Data and Services, Marketing, Law & Franchise, Issuer, fintech and regional Partnership Teams, etc) and external partners (processors, bin sponsors, program managers) to execute deals post-win, including standing up co-brand products and ensuring cross-functional alignment and maximum support for launch efforts.
