**Job Description:**
Marken, UPS Healthcare Precision Logistics (formerly Marken, MNX & Polar Speed), the clinical and advanced therapy subsidiary of UPS Healthcare, unites expertise across healthcare and complex secure logistics to drive the success of our clients through innovation.
**Summary**
The Business Development Manager for Marken is responsible for building up their defined territory and/or defined accounts by supporting and growing existing and new client relationships. Meeting these objectives includes the identification of potential accounts and opportunities, the formulation of specific account strategies, and the implementation of tactics that primarily result in new sales while building long-term productive customer-supplier relations. This position provides timely reports on activities, expenses, operations and forecast data for assessment of progress on meeting objectives. This position confers with other Marken Departments as well as Markens senior management to discuss quotations, project management and scheduling activities.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Meet or exceed goals for assigned accounts, territory or area.
+ Focus on growth of existing business and new customer sales by working to meet business goals set by management.
+ Build upon and maintain Marken's existing customer base through Customer Service, frequent client interaction and technical expertise
+ Lead and provide business support to client specific team(s) of Project Managers and Project Coordinators to ensure end-to-end customer satisfaction and accuracy of all jobs pertaining to clients' accounts assigned.

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the growth strategy for health through identifying, qualifying and bidding activity for opportunities that align with the wider business aspirations and deliver profitable new business for Maximus
  • Lead on sales capture activity for identified opportunities, supporting the build and validation of a viable pipeline of contract opportunities
  • Establish external partnerships across all levels, developing meaningful relationships to enhance contract positioning
  • Manage a bid team for opportunities; high-level solution and delivery model design support in response to contract opportunities; internal governance working closely with Maximus' leadership teams; and matrix working across the organisation to ensure operations, finance, HR and other relevant departments are involved in, and sign up to, the final proposal
  • Develop impactful client relationships and with other relevant regional/local commissioners in order to position Maximus credibly within the health sector and achieve financial outcomes through a structured business development process
  • Support the marketing of Maximus as a provider in the health sector as required such as at public speaking events, through thought leadership, networking opportunities, market engagements and in pro-active or responsive papers to the market
  • Maintain current knowledge industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to support win themes and bid strategies
  • Support the strategy development process through market assessment on competitors, opportunities and commissioners
  • Build robust growth plans to pursue our targets
  • Work with operational colleagues to ensure Account Management is effectively supported by BD so that organic growth and customer intimacy continue to evolve within our existing business.

  • Demonstrable experience and understanding of leading and managing the sales cycle from opportunity identification to successful implementation, including the ability to input into all key aspects, such as solution design, financial modelling and risk analysis
  • A proven track record of achieving set targets in business development and/or operations (new and existing accounts) at a senior level
  • Track record of networking, building credible relationships and influencing external stakeholders, competitors, employers and commissioners

**Summary**
The focus for the Business Development Representative is creating additional pipeline opportunities for the Logistics organization in a complex selling model. This position will be responsible for collaborating with Directors of Business Development (DBD) and Business Development Managers (BDM). They will conduct outbound prospecting on targeted accounts and engage with senior level decision makers regarding Ryder's value proposition and Supply Chain Services. They will have targets and metrics to achieve.
**Essential Functions**
+ Identify C-level decision makers and key influencers within the targeted accounts and strategize with DBD/BDM on sales approaches. Primary resource for researching/prospecting of new business opportunities within the Top Targeted Accounts. Utilize outbound calls, email and social media tools such as LinkedIn to reach appropriate decision makers. Uncover customer needs through effective discovery questions.
+ Quick follow-up on leads from 3rd party provider. Conduct needs assessment and validate the opportunity utilizing the BANT process.budget, authority, needs, timing.
**Additional Responsibilities**
+ Maintain a high level of call volume and touch points to uncover customer needs, educate and develop prospects regarding Ryder's solutions within Supply Chain vertical markets, Last Mile, ECOM and Dedicated.
+ Maintain an organized contact strategy for nurturing accounts.
+ Copious note taking and documentation in Salesforce. Track all lead activity and stages of sales cycle.
+ Interact with marketing dept. to update regularly on quality and status of leads.
+ Research accounts to prepare for C-level conversations.
+ Strengthen skills to become a successful Supply Chain expert.
