Position Overview:

Under the direction and supervision of the Regional Business Director, the Business Development Manager (BDM) will manage and grow the Mercury Marine Independent Boatbuilder network within his/her sales zone through building strategic relationships with current and future customers. The successful BDM will coach, consult, develop and grow sales volume, market share, and profitability that meets the objectives of Mercury Marine. Additional responsibilities include developing a strategy to service existing accounts; develop new business; monitor weekly reports; work in National, Regional and local boat shows; attend sales meetings; and utilize computer and forecasting tools. The BDM is the principal selling agent within the assigned sales territory for Mercury Marine and is responsible for achieving the established short and long-range sales goals and objectives. The BDM must assure that sales and marketing activities within the territory comply with Mercury corporate policies and procedures.
**This specific opportunity - Independent Boatbuilder BDM for the Southeast United States, primarily the state of Florida.** The selected candidate will live in one of the states in the market.

Essential Functions:
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with existing Mercury Marine independent boat builder partners as well as develop prospective new opportunities.
- Outstanding commitment to the long-term development of Mercury independent boat builder partners. Must exemplify a proven ability to coach, manage, consult and grow sales with specific and measurable objectives. A strong business acumen is essential.
- Internal and external expert of customer, prospective, competitive and market intelligence information. The BDM represents the eyes and ears of the company.
- Must be a skilled listener, mediator, and negotiator while accomplishing goals and protecting interests.
- Must have a proven track record of exceeding sales and market share goals and demonstrate an intense motivation to sell and grow the business.
- Develop sales strategies, techniques, tactics and training of product knowledge based on customer feedback and the market environment. Must be able to present key selling points, features and benefits while focusing on exceeding customer needs and expectations.
- Ability to travel to multiple Mercury boat builder partner locations within the assigned territory. At least 50% overnight travel is required.
- Communicate customer requirements and request support from other departments as necessary to assist in achieving established objectives. Must have strong cross-functional skills.
- Work jointly with assigned inside customer account representatives, service personnel, and credit personnel to achieve territory sales goals.
- Attending Mercury sponsored events, boat-shows, open-houses, and dealer events on the weekend is considered common

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Marketing, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3+ years of related work experience within the Marine Industry, Recreational Industry, or in the areas of Sales, Business or Marketing.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint) Internet/Intranet and CRM skills, particularly while tethered via laptop from a remote location.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel at least 50% overnight.

- Strong data analysis and computer skills. Need the ability to understand and analyze data and trends. Metrics Driven.
- A practical "nose for business" and strong problem solver, both strategically and tactically.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $84,500 - $136,100 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a short-term incentive program.
At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate's qualifications and the business context.

**The role you'll contribute:**
The role of the Business Development Consultant is to develop business opportunities for AH and AHCC BHS within an assigned portfolio of municipalities, government, and/or business accounts within the Central Florida community. In this role, special projects will also be assigned to respond to the dynamic market. This includes maintaining and growing existing contracts established with the employer as well as identifying new opportunities to grow service offerings for the client. Thorough health care knowledge of the customer are essential to maximizing the benefits that AH could potentially offer.
Responsible for generating a minimum of $150,000 (or assigned annual goal) in annual revenue for an assigned employer base.
Adheres to Advent Health Corporate Compliance plan and all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.
This position actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
**Business Development:**
- Through research and industry knowledge, develops pipeline of net new business opportunities for the Studio Blue, a full-service production company as a brand at The Freeman Company.
- Sells all Freeman lines of business, products and services (with a focus on Studio Blue) and all related services and support.
- Focused on sales to corporate organizations within an assigned or self-defined customer market and/or segment.
- Actively engaged in the hunt. Makes a constant effort to find new business. Perform outbound sales calls, including cold calling, lead/referral follow-up and sales qualification to ascertain requirements.
- Builds relationships with assigned leads. Compiles and maintains list of prospective corporate sales leads and keeps the leads updated within Salesforce.com
- Concentrate on developing net new business contracts.
- Act as primary representative for assigned accounts taking each account through the Freeman Sales Cycle, working closely with the assigned Client Relations owner to blend Business Development with Client Relations.
- Obtain future show/event schedule information from client and solicit appropriate future business.
- Works closely with the Studio Blue Executive Producer and team on sales proposals and presentations, ensuring the message is on brand and on topic
- Achieves budgeted sales goals and revenue contribution.
- Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit future business.
- Prepares sales collateral and Power Point decks and makes face-to-face presentations when necessary. Modifies collateral as required to close the sale.
- Entertains clients as necessary.
- Attends industry events as assigned.
**Miscellaneous:**
- Ensures Salesforce.com data Integrity for assigned accounts.
- Prepares reports of business transactions.
- Keeps track of travel expenses and submits travel expense reports as required.
- Represents Freeman to internal personnel and external contacts in a loyal, ethical, and moral manner.
**Education & Experience**
- Bachelor's degree preferred, High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience required.
- Ten (10) or more years of Audio-Visual selling experience.
- Has proven ability to manage their own book of accounts in the profitable production of revenue opportunities totaling approximately $5 million or more.
- Knowledge of sales systems such as SalesForce.com is required.

**Detailed Description**
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
