The Logistics Specialist will provide organization, control and coordination of materials used in manufacturing, including storage and delivery activities for the factory with a focus on inbound and outbound goods, material warehousing, inventory management and cost. Support the quoting and management of the logistics vendors to optimize costs and delivery for inbound and outbound shipments.
SUMMARY:
THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
• Manages and coordinates manufacturing runs to meet optimal supply and demand needs.
• Processes and reviews vendor invoices and freight claims to ensure cost efficiency.
• Analyzes the logistics activities and functions for Hyosung HICO, working with vendors and suppliers to streamline product manufacturing, transportation, storage and distribution.
• Executes the transportation and inventory functions for Hyosung HICO consisting of inbound and outbound freight, shipping/ receiving area, and inventory control optimization. Review analyzes and schedule shipments into and out of Hyosung HICO to ensure cost and schedule adherence. Optimize transportation for full loads, product tracking, route analysis, rerouting, costing, and usage alternatives.
• Writes, revises, and trains employees on standard operating procedures for logistics and warehouse processes.
• Researches, develops and implements best practice techniques to measure, drive and achieve goals for on time delivery, price, quality, and inventory management. Serve as liaison between vendors/suppliers and Hyosung HICO to maximize and maintain vendor/supplier performance.
• Forecasts material usage to manufacturing schedule and coordinate with purchasing to ensure the materials are available when required. Identify and recommend remediation actions as necessary.
• Analyzes and optimizes costs of inbound and outbound transportation as part of supply arrangements. Develops and execute action plans to reduce costs of freight forwarders. Approves expedited shipping costs. Provides justification for costs and preventive measures to limit future expedite fees.
• Ensures department policies exist and are followed to review inventory transactions, levels and storage locations for accuracy and conformance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines. Using ERP and other tools, maintains optimal inventory of materials, and components to efficiently support continuous manufacturing operations.
• Reports monthly on the logistics and inventory control activities status to established goals.
• Monitors industry standards, trends, or practices to identify developments in logistics planning or execution.
• Furthers the goals and positive, professional image of the factory by conducting business with other Hyosung HICO divisions, departments, suppliers, etc. in a timely and cooperative manner.
• Know Hyosung HICO's Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work.

• Evaluate material flows into, through and out of Hyosung HICO to drive continuous improvement of material on hand and inventory levels. Develop, monitor and drive improvement of logistics and inventory performance metrics.
• Coordinate with Purchasing to analyze specifications, transportation supplier capabilities, and market conditions to determine the best source for procurement of Hyosung HICO supplies, services, and parts.
• Make recommendations and take actions to improve Company policies and procedures.
• Develop, compose, and distribute procedures as required.
• Support and assist the Manufacturing Manager as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRMENTS:
EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business or similar technical related discipline, plus 5 years' experience in logistics or materials management at a manufacturer of large products, or equivalent education and experience.
• Advanced skills in supply chain systems and techniques including logistics and negotiating skills.
• Developed logical and critical thinking skills including the ability to develop, analyze and draw conclusions to problems requiring quantitative results.
• Advanced oral and written communications skills with emphasis on strong customer relationships skills.
• Developed organizational and time management skills.
• Working knowledge of computer systems, emphasizing MS Office, relational databases, computer-based planning systems.

What You Will Do In This Role:
- Participate in semi-complex buying strategies to purchase and arrange timely delivery of supplies and materials and expedites as vital.
- Effectively manage supply programs to meet lead times, as well as delivery dates for projects and sales orders.

- Support supplier quality and supplier development activities, including supervising and improving delivery reliability and lead time reduction.
- Resolve semi-complex delivery, quality or other related problems with invoices or purchases and ensure purchase orders are legally compliant and have the accurate customer flow downs and specifications of purchase.
- Optimally apply knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of Supply Chain Management.
- Solid understanding of SAP and EDI transmission of the procure-to-pay process, including data elements.
- 3 -5 years minimum proven experience in purchasing or Materials Management. Manufacturing environment preferred.
- Demonstrates good grasp of knowledge of the field.
