We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves setting up and operating metal forming equipment. The position will initially require working the first shift from 7 am to 3 pm for training, with flexibility to move to other shifts such as the 3-11 pm or 11 pm-7 am shifts once permanently hired.

Responsibilities
+ Set up and operate metal forming equipment.
+ Utilize tools and follow work instructions.
+ Operate cutback saw and perform changeovers for shear dies.
+ Operate stamping presses.
+ Perform visual and quality inspections using calipers and micrometers.
+ Conduct basic math operations and use a tape measure for quality checks.
+ Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
+ Use a tape measure to check the length, width, and spacing of holes.
+ Complete documentation for completed jobs.
+ Assist material handler with coils and steel.
Essential Skills
+ Mechanically inclined with experience in using hand and power tools.
+ Ability to read a tape measure to the 32nd inch.
+ Openness to all shifts.
+ At least 1 year of press operator experience.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with stamping presses and slitter machines is a plus.
+ Must have metatarsal boot covers.

Job Summary:
The Machine Operator will set up, operate, and adjust machinery used in the can-making process. The operator will perform quality checks to ensure that can dimensions meet product specifications.
Job Duties:
- Read blueprints and can drawings to determine job specifications and tooling.
- Set up and operate manufacturing equipment (ie., Extrusion Press, Liner Machine, Printer, Necker, etc.).
- Perform routine cleaning, preventative maintenance, and changeovers on manufacturing equipment.
- Observe machine operations to detect machine faults and make necessary adjustments.
- Monitor environmental factors, such as humidity and temperature, that may impact equipment performance.
- Remain organized, maintain proper inventory levels, and stack finished items as needed.
- Perform routine quality checks and record findings to ensure cans meet job specifications.
- Communicate defects and production outputs to fellow operators.
- Authority to stop and/or modify work processes due to non-conformance and/or unsafe working conditions.
- Report all potential food safety concerns to the quality assurance manager.
- Perform all other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Measuring skills using calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
- Quality control skills to detect variations and defects in dimensions, color, size, etc.
- Basic computer, data entry, and blueprint reading skills.
