ERM is seeking a Principal Consultant, Renewable Energy/Power overseeing Impact Assessment, Planning and Permitting for renewable energy facilities throughout the Midwest. This role will manage environmental studies and permitting for various power facilities and other major capital development projects, including solar development, battery energy storage system development, technology infrastructure and energy transmission projects. The ideal candidate will have multiple years of project management experience in the power and/or technology sector along with technical expertise leading environmental, local, state, and federal level permitting for large-scale capital projects.

It is preferred and desired that the candidate has experience developing permits and permitting strategies for renewable projects, particularly to support local land use permitting processes, including securing conditional or special use permits, identifying requirements or local municipalities and counties (e.g., buffer widths, vegetative screening, noise analyses, project design, water quality monitoring, and local storm water review criteria), analyzing the potential for variances, and working with developers to optimize layouts based on local permitting requirements.

As part of ERM's planning team you will be leading consulting on a range of environmental, social, and health impact assessment projects to build a sustainable business both regionally and nationally, while networking with ERM's global technical teams to share best practices across the industry.

This position will focus primarily on environmental impact assessment and federal, state, and local permitting to facilitate the development, construction, and operation of commercial-scale energy facilities and support the low carbon economy transition in the U.S. Our portfolio of projects is often fast-paced, multi-faceted, and geographically diverse. The position will require a candidate to work independently and to lead teams of subject matter experts, so the successful candidate must have the ability to manage varying priorities and multiple tasks while forging a cohesive delivery team to meet concurrent deadlines on multiple projects. The Role

The Information Security Consultant II plays a critical role within the vSOC’s 24/7 operational model, providing intermediate-level triage and analysis capabilities. This position ensures SLA-driven alert handling, accurate enrichment, and timely escalation of potential security incidents across a multi-tenant environment. Analysts in this role demonstrate growing independence in investigations, handle moderately complex alerts, and contribute to operational continuity through clear documentation and collaboration. This role serves as a stepping stone toward senior analyst positions by building technical depth, platform versatility, and confidence in a high-tempo environment.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Perform real-time alert triage and enrichment across SIEM, EDR, and other telemetry sources.

  • Apply contextual enrichment using threat intelligence, asset data, and user behavior to assess severity and relevance.

  • Draft and deliver clear, technically accurate analyst write-ups for escalated alerts, including indicators of compromise and recommended actions.

  • Issue timely alert notifications and escalate incidents per SLA and SOP requirements.

  • Ensure all actions are properly documented and traceable.

  • Provide feedback on recurring false positives, detection gaps, and enrichment issues to improve workflows.

  • Collaborate with shift teams to maintain situational awareness and ensure smooth transitions.

  • Participate in customer-facing activities such as incident documentation reviews and technical briefings under senior guidance.

  • Follow established playbooks and SOPs while contributing suggestions for improvement.

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • Requires Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • At least 3 years of related experience.

  • Proficiency in core vSOC platforms: Carbon Black, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender, SentinelOne, Splunk, and Microsoft Sentinel.

  • Developing fluency in advanced tools such as FortiSIEM, QRadar, and SOAR platforms.

  • Ability to conduct initial investigations and apply contextual enrichment independently.

  • Strong written communication skills for producing concise and technically sound documentation.

  • Familiarity with SLA-driven operations and escalation protocols.

  • Initiative in resolving recurring issues and improving detection workflows.

  • Willingness to engage in customer-facing support activities with professionalism.

  • Ability to work effectively in a high-tempo, collaborative environment.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$66,375 - $8,500 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.

69,694 - 92,925 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.

73,013 - 97,350 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.

What You'll Do

  • Lead group enrollments for assigned employer-sponsored retirement plans

  • Provide accurate and timely customer service to ensure a quality customer experience with a goal of customer retention

  • Meet with individual participants to educate them on why retirement planning is important

  • Conduct group education meetings to educate on the benefit of saving for retirement

  • Lead annual review process to educate the plan sponsor on fiduciary duties, assist with understanding compliance testing results, legislative issues and plan design enhancements.

What it Takes

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience

  • 2-5 years of related work experience

  • Ability to speak, write and understand Spanish is strongly preferred

  • Poised public speaker with proven ability to engage and present to diverse audiences of all sizes
