Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Plant Manager:
#1. Minimum of five years of management experience in a manufacturing environment
#2. Direct experience with wood products, biomass, or renewable energy manufacturing
#3. Strong knowledge of environmental and safety compliance
#4. Expertise in inventory, raw material sourcing, and supply chain management
#5. Solid business acumen for budgeting and cross-functional collaboration
Responsibilities of the Plant Manager:
The Plant Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations and maintenance of the facility. This role includes oversight of production, personnel, safety, inventory management, environmental compliance, and coordination with corporate leadership.
Requirements of the Plant Manager:
- Five years of management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with production systems, safety protocols, and environmental compliance.
- Engineering or Business Degree preferred
- Knowledge of biomass markets, wood species and the wood pellet industry a plus.
Other Key Requirements:
- Non-remote. Must be able to come into the office
- Relocation was not factored or budgeted. A local candidate is preferred.
- No sponsorships or visa holders. No Corp-to-Corp.

This role will also involve handling the management of a modern day, state of the art farrow to wean genetic sow farm. This position is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual who is looking to take their skillset and career to the next level and contribute to the growth and success of our company.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Overseeing and being actively involved in all sections of the sow farm including all areas of breeding and farrowing, management of employees, understanding of barn operations, with oversight of truck wash, and serves as backup for finishing site as needed
- Ensure the highest standards of animal wellbeing by verifying that all animals receive proper feed, water, ventilation, and overall care.
- Ensure operational aspects of farm are taken care of appropriately including making sure equipment is functioning properly, feed systems and feed quality are monitored, and maintenance and repairs and completed.
- Responsibility to ensure financial success of farm-overseeing payroll, supplies, maintenance/repair budgets, and production reports
- Have excellent communication with all team members, WFR Swine Management Team, and WFR Staff.
- Participate in assigned training sessions and leadership meetings to support professional growth and contribute to organizational development
- Provide leadership and guidance to develop staff to their fullest potential through comprehensive training, effective onboarding, and clear delegation of responsibilities.
- Manage, coach, and mentor team members while promoting an inclusive, positive work environment.
- Foster collaboration by balancing individual and team priorities, placing the success of the team first, and supporting everyone's efforts to achieve organizational goals.

- Utilizes data systems and completes all paperwork required for a genetic nucleus site (feed orders, HR requirements, data recording, and technical and production reports).

Requirements
Education and Experience
- 1 year in the swine industry with proven leadership ability or an active MIT/Assistant Manager in WFR system.

- Helps identify, communicate, and resolve staff, patient, physician, and family concerns, issues, and appropriateness of care. Addresses concerns immediately and reports all problems or patient complaints to DNO. Initiates immediate steps to correct problems when appropriate.
- May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.

Minimum Job Requirements
