Travel RN – Emergency Room Care Manager (Case Manager)

Facility: Providence Saint Peter Hospital
Location: Olympia, WA 98506
Contract Type: Travel (13 weeks)
Shift: Nights – 3x12 (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

The ER Care Manager RN coordinates patient care and discharge planning in the Emergency Department and across inpatient units. This role ensures patients receive appropriate resources, facilitates care transitions, and manages length of stay and payer requirements.

• Experience: Minimum 2 years inpatient acute care hospital (HARD STOP)
  • Must include ICU, PCU, ED, Family Birth, and Adult Medical experience
  • Behavioral health–only experience will not qualify
• Certifications: BLS (AHA) required; CCM or ACM preferred
• Licensure: Active WA RN license or Compact license (no pending)
• Charting: Epic required
• Nice to Have: Familiarity with Milliman Guidelines or InterQual Criteria
• Other:
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Must float between like units as needed
  • EOW (every other weekend) required

May occasionally cover day shift

Efforts made to keep a regular schedule, but block scheduling not guaranteed

WA or Compact RN license (current) REQUIRED

Requirements:

• Current state license required
• B.S. In Nursing or related health field preferred but not required.

• Provides case management services to patients according to policy and procedure.
• Ability to take direction from others and follow through in a concise manner, which also promotes efficiency.
• Ability to communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, etc.
• Ability to set priorities.
• Acts to protect and advance patient’ s best interest.
• Maintains knowledge of billing, pay or contracts, agreements and reimbursement issues.
• Satisfactorily demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description as well as continually demonstrates competency in performing the job duties.
