**Job Summary:**
**_The Associate Vice President of Supply Chain Operations_** leads the strategic and operational direction of UTMB's supply chain across the institution to maintain high-quality service and accomplish objectives set forth by the Chief Supply Chain Officer **_._** This role is responsible for ensuring seamless, cost-effective, and high-quality support to both procedural and non-procedural areas, including warehouse operations, linen, and mail services. The AVP of Supply Chain Operations drives long-term planning, daily operations, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with UTMB's commitment to exceptional patient care and operational excellence. This position leads cross-functional teams and champions data-informed, technology-enabled supply chain practices that support organizational priorities and service line growth.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Lead and direct all supply chain functions in logistics, inventory management, receiving, distribution, and procedural units across all campuses.
+ Develop and implement system-wide supply chain strategies that support operational efficiency, cost containment, and high-quality patient care.
+ Define priorities and goals, ensuring objectives are consistent with institutional goals.
+ Provide strategic and tactical guidance for all UTMB Supply Chain activities based on best practices both within and outside the healthcare industry.
+ Support the digital transformation of supply chain operations, leveraging ERP and analytics platforms to drive automation, transparency, and data-driven decision-making.
+ Lead supply chain activities with the goal of the lowest total cost of ownership while balancing quality and service outcomes.
+ Maintain and develop relationships with key stakeholders, including C-Suite, Hospital Administrators, Operations Officers, and senior leadership representatives of all affiliates of UTMB. Effectively communicate the strategies and activities related to UTMB Supply Chain.
+ Ensure that department policies and procedures are updated on a consistent and regular basis as the needs of the organization progress. Ensure that all policies and procedures are communicated and adhered to across the organization.
+ Establishand monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to evaluate operational effectiveness, service levels, and cost containment across all sites.
+ Coordinate and execute business continuity and emergency preparedness plans to ensure the uninterrupted supply of critical products and services during disasters or supply chain disruptions.
+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies, focusing on process automation, waste reduction, and workflow optimization.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

**Job Summary and Qualifications**
The Supply Chain Technician is responsible for receiving, keying, and promptly distributing all supplies within the facility, as well as reviewing and maintaining all Min/Max levels for storeroom safety stock as well as all other stocking locations. The Supply Chain Technician is also responsible for conducting physical inventories of all POU areas according to the defined schedule.
**What you will do in this role:**
+ Deliver supplies in an accurate and timely manner
+ Is authorized to transport and deliver legend drugs, non-prescription drugs, contrast media and drug-containing devices relative to core competencies of the position
+ Place safety stock in proper location
+ Receive expedited deliveries, accurately key receiving into the SMART system, and deliver to appropriate department(s)
+ Receive all cross-docked items into the SMART system as appropriate
+ Review Min/Max for storeroom safety stock daily and place orders appropriately
+ Count par level areas (POU areas) weekly according to schedule
+ Ensure POU items have the appropriate barcodes
+ Perform QA random checks on totes per approved policy
+ Rotate stock in POU areas and backup storeroom areas to ensure no items are out of date
+ Check after-hour logs for charges and determine how to avoid reoccurrence
+ React appropriately to POU "critical point" messages and stock outs
+ Process all "returns to vendor" or "returns to backup stock" appropriately
+ Provide assistance to the POU Station personnel as well as provide assistance with problems, questions and concerns at the nurses stations

+ Using documentation such as delivery manifest, pick ticket or packing slip, inspects and audits supply and equipment deliveries based on department standards and procedures (i.e. quantity, unit of measure, correct label, physical condition, product expiration).
+ Assists with capture of non-conforming products by rounding and inspecting supplies and equipment when defects or recalls are identified and routinely for identification and removal of expired product. Ensures clinical supply and equipment areas are clean and organized.
+ Responsible for basic trouble-shooting of concerns in the inventory management systems, including but not limited to PAR Excellence Scale Errors or locating deliveries based on workflow through the systems.
**FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
+ Responsible for input of all Supply Chain transactions (inventory, receipt, etc.) and ensures transactions are completed accurately within the appropriate tracking systems and within the established guidelines of the department.
+ Uses resources efficiently; does not waste supplies. Utilizes efficient and cost-effective work practices with department resources and supplies; provides recommendations to reduce expenses. Self-motivated to independently manage time effectively and prioritize department daily tasks, minimizing incidental overtime.
