Our QC Chemist play a vital role in Caring for Life by
- Conduct routine and advanced testing on multiple products and dosage forms using instrumentation including:
- Karl Fisher
- HPLC
- GC
- Particle size
- ICP Testing
- UV
- FT- IR
- PPK
- Polymer Tests
- Physical Samples
- Fail Testing
- Volume Testing
- PLC
- Other
- Testing raw materials, intermediaries and final products for release
- Leading investigations
- Ensuring compliance to all data integrity and cGMP practices, procedures, and policies
- Ensuring compliance with all good documentation practices.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in Chemistry
- Ability to communicate effectively in English including reading, writing and speaking
- Experience analyze complex data sets.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and other scientific based software.
- Experience in Inhalation products is a plus
Working conditions
This role works in a cGMP laboratory or manufacturing environment, where personal protective equipment is required, which may include uniforms, lab coats, safety glasses, respiratory protective equipment, hearing protection, etc. Work with or around solvents, powders, or other materials commonly found in a pharmaceutical laboratory or manufacturing facility is required.
The role may be assigned on a work-shift basis, where required (Day, Evening, Night). Weekend or Holiday work may be requested or required.
Physical requirements
- Work standing or walking unassisted for 75% or greater of an 8-hour period. Unassisted lifting up-to10 kg, may be required.
- Able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times, when required.
- Sitting at a desk and/or working at a computer or other "screen" 75% or greater of an 8-hour period.
- Professional and Behavioral Competencies
- Must be willing to work in a pharmaceutical packaging setting.
- Must be willing and able to work any assigned shift ranging from first or second shift. Work schedule may be Monday to Friday.

Summary:
The Quality Document Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timely and effective implementation of all company policies, procedures, and activities involved in assuring the safety and quality of manufactured products.
She/he maintains close working relationships with other department managers and supervisory personnel in order to meet and maintain product quality, identify, solve, and prevent problems affecting product quality, maximize productivity, and comply with regulatory requirements.
He/she reports to the Quality Documentation Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Responsible for the timely, accurate, and efficient preparation of and management of policies and procedures.
- Manage the number of nomenclature, filing, storage, and retrieval of both electronic and hard copy documents produced by Quality, Operations, Technical teams, and other departments as needed.
- Develop/leverage tools to create a robust document management system that will ultimately support Quality programs, including Training, CAPA, Internal Audits, Supplier Approval, etc.
- Review policies, procedures, SOPs, Work Instructions, etc. for accuracy, revising as required and deploying documented updates.
- Supervise the Change Control process to ensure changes are captured accurately, documented according to, reviewed, and approved by appropriate parties to meet internal and customer requirements.
- Document/Data Control of various customer products or additional projects as requested to support quality initiatives.
- Scanning and filing of quality-related documents in a proper file management system/database.
- Assist in investigating and correcting quality-related issues (including customer complaints) specific to documentation through collaboration with other departments.
- Share knowledge, skills, and information with other personnel in the Quality Department and across functional areas.
- Assist in the implementation of policies, operating procedures, quality systems, and programs that ensure proper testing, evaluation, inspection, and technical support in order to meet product quality standards.
Education, Training, & Experience:
A two-year degree is , but we would consider the experience in lieu of a degree. At a minimum, on-the-job training should last approximately 3 weeks and should cover all shifts. It shall also cover any HR training if the employee is a new hire.
Pay Range: $17.00-21.00 (based on experience); For the PM shift, there is a $1.00 Shift Differential for this position.
