**Your Challenge:**
+ Design and implement quality control software inspection programs including, but not limited to: Inspection plans, measurement methods and data recording forms/records; Quality Control systems, methods, and procedures; Gage Lab calibration and Gage Control oversight; Supplier inspection verification and evaluation of delivered product; New product inspection support and data analysis.
+ Provide technical support, inspection equipment and training to inspectors, as needed.
+ Participate in internal and external audits, surveillances, and provide technical support for such activities.
+ Review and approve drawings, routings, specifications, procedures, and similar documents related to assigned projects. Perform vendor inspection data reviews for accuracy and completeness.
+ Perform inspections and provide data analysis information to support new product design initiatives, or to aid in the determination of root cause, and corrective actions, as requested; help identify potential project or supplier quality issues.
+ Review, evaluate, and respond to external customer and/or supplier correspondence; provide assistance to Suppliers, as required, with drawing interpretation and inspection techniques that meet EMD's expectations.
+ Participate in the preparation and maintenance of quality control procedures and related department and divisional procedures.
**What You Bring:**
+ Bachelor's Degree required in Engineering.
+ 2-6 years of experience in a QC Engineering position in General Industry.
+ Experience with programming inspection systems, like CMMs, and CAD software like AutoCAD or Solid Edge.
+ Application development using VB, MS Access, Python, C++ or other programming language.
+ General knowledge of dimensional inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, functional gaging, etc.
+ Trained/Certified in PCDMIS and/or PolyWorks software programming is desired.
+ Oral and written communication skills.
+ Detail oriented with the ability to learn on the fly.
+ Comprehensive understanding of Windows 10 and MS Office.
+ Knowledge of ERP systems.
+ Ability to work in a team environment is essential.
+ Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens

Job Description
The Quality Control Specialist serves as a key member of the Quality Control department for the remedial action team for its Shallow Land Disposal Area site in Parks Township, PA, east-northeast of Pittsburgh. This position supports the Contractor Quality Control System Manager (CQCSM) in implementing the Quality Control program and ensures subcontractor performance is tracked to meet project needs. This position reports directly to the CQCSM.
Position Description
Responsible for assisting the CQCSM in implementing the Contractor Quality Control (CQC) System.
Has authority to recommend stop work when conditions adverse to quality are identified.
Review and approve subcontractor submittals, ensuring compliance with requirements identified in the Performance Work Statement, task order Scope of Services, and the CQC Program.
Responsible for assisting the CQCSM in implementing the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) three-phase control process.
Inspect (or oversee inspection of) materials and equipment received on site to assure compliance with contractual requirements.
Perform routine Quality surveillances, assessments and audits of work performance as directed by the CQCSM.
Oversee subcontractor work performance for compliance with work plans, drawings and specifications.
Complete daily QC Reports.
Other duties as assigned by the CQCSM.
**Requirements**
- Minimum of Associates degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience, including 2 years of experience in USACE projects is desired.
- Current USACE "Construction Quality Management for Contractors" certification, or ability to obtain, is desired.
- Understanding of USACE Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) Remediation is desired.
- General understanding of procurement and construction concepts and principles, and their attendant quality requirements.
- Good written, verbal and Microsoft Office skills are required.
- USA Citizenship is required.
- A person already residing withing commuting distance of Vandergrift, PA is highly desired
- Knowledge and application of the USACE Construction Quality Management requirements.
- Technical knowledge of the application of procurement and construction practices sufficient to comprehend Quality requirements, including interpreting drawings and specifications.
- Experience participating in and supporting quality assessments, surveillances, and audits.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel across multiple organizations within a construction and remedial action environment.

Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same.
