ABOUT THE ROLE
Ensure accurate sample collection and quality control testing are performed for each manufacturing facility. Provides verbal findings and written test results to management and production staff in a timely manner. Assists Sales Manager with customer service issues as directed. Certifies results of laboratory findings as needed. Supervises the Technicians across all sites. Ensures timely reporting of results, communication with Operations and entry of data into Quadrel.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Promotes Aggregate Industries US Safety guidelines and standards as well as MSHA and OSHA regulations, ensuring that safety and compliance requirements are met and followed at all times.
- Participation in Industry Associations and Technical Organizations is encouraged.
- Ensures all aspects of his/her role are executed in a safe manner.
- Ensures Company vehicle is operated and maintained according to best practice and specified standards and procedures.
- Obeys safety guidelines when on construction sites and Aggregate Industries US facilities
- Promote and adhere to Aggregate Industries compliance policies.
- Report any violation immediately to senior management or through your compliance officer.
- Manage and assist the technicians to ensure all facilities are producing product within specification.
- Raw Materials Control - Supervise the program to qualify raw materials for use in company products.
- Ensure that plant settings produce the products within specification. Report any discrepancies to the facilities management & work with Operations to resolve any QC issues.
- Product Control - Ensures that all testing is conducted efficiently and consistently to ensure accurate results. Ensure prompt communication of all results with Operations and entry into Quadrel.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree or 5-7 years of equivalent experience
Additional Education Preferred: Master's degreeField of Study Preferred: Engineering or Science
Required Technical Skills:
• Microsoft Suite (Excel, Office, Powerpoint)
• Google Suite (Gmail, Spreadsheets, Documents, Drive)
• Quadrel
• SAP experience a plus

Job Description
To collect samples from jobsites/batch plants and performs field and laboratory quality control testing to ensure product specifications are achieved. Help to maintain DOT product approvals. Use knowledge of concrete design to help innovate new products that meet internal and external aspirations. Provide verbal and/or written test results to management and production staff in a timely manner. Assists manager with customer service issues as directed. Assists in mix design development, and other construction materials testing. Assist with specification review and mix design submittal preparation. Assist with mix design maintenance.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
- Examines laboratory samples to determine their physical and chemical properties.
- Uses a variety of instruments and calculations to determine conformity. Performs various tests to make certain that samples meet required standards. May be assigned to manage a specific job in the field.
- Records, analyzes, certifies and prepares summaries of findings. Maintains records of test results using various databases.
- May design mixes to be used at various plants based on materials used at each site. Optimizes mix designs to reduce costs of materials used by adding recycled materials, additives or other materials.
- Assists with customer service issues as required. Troubleshoots to determine reason for problem or complaint.
- Collects samples from various plants/job sites as required. Work performed in a laboratory setting or at a field location.
- Interacts with the work of other QC Technicians to ensure work is completed timely and efficiently pursuant to Quality Control Standards and Legal Requirements.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Associate's degree or years of equivalent experience
Field of Study Preferred: Construction Management
Required Work Experience: 5 years
Required Training/Certifications: ACI and/or NRMCA Certifications
Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel), Command, Quadrel, Google, SAP
Understanding of CDOT specifications and test procedures for aggregates and concrete.
Complete understanding of ASTM specifications and test procedure for concrete.
Availability and willingness to work flexible hours including some nights and weekends to meet customer needs.
Ability to lift and carry 50-75 lbs. over uneven ground for a distance of 300 ft.

**Position Overview**
As an Assistant Quality Control Manager, you will be responsible for leading the projects Quality Control program including developing a project quality control plan, aligning procedures and practices with company policy, regulatory controls and contractual requirements while monitoring for effectiveness and making recommendations for improvement.
**District Overview**
Weeks Marine's vast reach and deep expertise, combined with the sheer size and diversity of its equipment fleet, enables the company to serve as a one-stop shop for clients in both the private and governmental sectors, providing exceptional customer service, environmental sensitivity, operational efficiency, and a long-standing commitment to safety. Weeks Marine is headquartered in Cranford, New Jersey, and manages a network of regional offices in Louisiana, Texas, Hawaii, Guam, Ontario, and Nova Scotia.
**Location**
This position will be worked on a 19 & 9 rotational schedule, meaning 19 days at work and 9 days off. The position will be worked on WMI's dredging projects spanning the eastern seaboard and Gulf Coast of America.
**Responsibilities**
- Act as Quality Control Manager at the work site to implement and manage the project specific Contractor Quality Control Plan
- Developing project specific quality control plans
- Implement the three-phase control system
- Verify compliance with the Jobsite Safety Plan and EM-385-1-1, Safety and Health Requirements Manual
- Document daily construction activities, deficiencies, and events by completing a Daily Construction Report for each contract work performed
- Monitor the Testing/Inspection Schedule to ensure that all testing required by the specifications is performed and the results are acceptable
- Conduct completion inspection of work and develop a "punch list" of items not in conformance with the Contract requirements
- Verify that Weeks Marine is in compliance with the Contract Documents by requiring the Contractor's Independent Material Testing Laboratory to perform additional tests as required by the Specifications
- Witness and review tests, test reports and certifications for conformance with the Contract Documents
- Inspect work prior to covering or concealing work
- Review working and as-built drawings being maintained for completeness and accuracy
- Provide copies of all test results with the Daily Quality Control Report
- Maintain the submittal process and update the Submittal Register
- Verify subcontracted Inspectors and Tester Certifications
- Hold regular meetings with clients and act as communication hub between project team and client.
- Other duties as required
**Qualifications**
+ The Quality Control Manager must possess a degree in Construction Management or a STEM field and have a minimum of three (3) years of construction experience related to government contracts.
+ Alternatively, a minimum of five (5) years of experience in related construction project work, with a preference for marine projects, is acceptable.
+ Need to be able to acquire the certification for the "Construction Quality Management for Contractors" course taught by the Corps of Engineers or Naval Facilities Engineering Command
+ Night Shift work may be required
+ Must be on-site at all times during construction
+ Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
+ Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
+ Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with owner's representatives, Superintendent, Engineer staff and subcontrators
+ Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives
+ Solid negotiation skills to resolve any potential conflicts that may arise during the duration of the contract
+ Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
+ Strong work ethic, demonstrate commitment to ethics and integrity
+ Must be able to pass Federal background check for base access
