**Position Summary:**
Responsible for checking quality of designated product and taking daily inventory on produce. Removes spoiled product that is short-dated from inventory and repacking full cases into smaller quantities. Responsible for quality checks of all produce pick locations. Pulls for dump or salvage any produce with decay or otherwise not meeting shipping requirements. Reports any dumps or salvage to Inventory Control. Communicates and interacts with vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
**Position Responsibilities:**
+ Perform assigned duties efficiently to reduce spoilage and contribute positively to profit margin; working closely with the cooler Receiving Department on perishable items.
+ Determine quality of products returned by customers; work with Returns Clerk (DCI) on returned produce quality.
+ Check quality of produce and ensure poor quality product is removed before a customer can purchase, sure rotation and quality of product on a daily basis.
+ Break / repack full cases to small cases.in the most timely and efficient manner as to reduce spoilage and lost inventory.
+ Check for dating issue on designated products on a daily basis. Remove any short dated and bad product from inventory.
+ Communicate and interact with company associates and vendors in a friendly, timely and quality manner; ensure questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
+ Uses iPad for data entry, needs computer skills - Microsoft office word and excel.
+ Keep inventory counts current.
+ Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.
+ Available Sun to Friday with a 5-day work week, rotating Sundays.

The FSQ Technician improves product quality and consistency by conducting checks at receiving, processing and shipping. Facilitate the implementation of the GFSI standard by supporting the FSQA role and operation activities in the plant. Monitor implementation all Food safety, Regulatory and Quality programs within the assigned area of responsibility

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Perform incoming raw material check, including trailer inspection (cleanliness, temperature, overall conditions), box inspection (intact, undamaged), product appearance & temperature, adherence to product purchasing specifications and weight Perform outgoing finished product inspection, including reviewing filled orders for accuracy, inspecting box condition prior to shipping, verify product temperature is within acceptable level, inspecting trailers for cleanliness, temperature, satisfactory condition and completion of box label, product content and weight checks. Perform work in progress QC tasks, including equipment calibration (thermometers, scales, antimicrobial application) and monitoring of metal detector operation, monitoring of aged inventory, order filler checks, CCP verification, daily monitoring of antimicrobial application. Assist with inventory control. Perform daily steak cutting quality checks, monitor cutting yield. Perform QC checks on product samples prior to shipment to ensure proper specifications, appearance, packaging and accurate order fulfillment. Conduct employees training when necessary. Complete and submit regular reports for statistical or operational analysis. Evaluate conditions of returned product for proper disposition
Performing all duties in compliance with USDA, DDA, OSHA, state and/or local regulations. Company policies and procedures include: safety guidelines and the use of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and must be adhered to.
**RELATIONSHIPS**
· Internal: FSQA department, Warehouse & Processing employees. The incumbent is required to interact with employees, customers, and vendors at all levels of responsibility throughout the company in a professional manner
· External: USDA/FDA officials
**WORK ENVIRONMENT**
· Must be able to work continually in a refrigerated environment 35°F- 45°F. Must be able to work for periods of time in a freezer environment -10°F to +10°F with company provided apparel. May require overtime with or without notice. Finish time is when work is completed.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
· Must possess a minimum of 1year of experience in food production environment.
**EDUCATION**
· High School Diploma/GED required
**CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING**
· HACCP Certified preferred.

· USDA or FDA experience Preferred
