Pay: $19-$20/hourly
Job Purpose: The Quality Inspector is responsible for conducting audits/inspections on inbound Customer deliveries as well as all other internal operational roles within the warehouse. The intent of the role is to identify gaps in compliance to our standards in an effort to promote maximum warehouse efficiencies and an elimination of inbound defects from our Customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs inspection on all inbound deliveries to ensure they are in compliance with RJW standards
- Displays an ability to count and identify labels/markings that would validate accuracy
- Maintains a standard of personal accuracy as Customers will be fined based on data inputs reported
- Maintains confidentiality of Customer and Employee quality performance
- Accurately inputs data to ensure inventory integrity
- Completes necessary documentation (both written and electronic) thoroughly, accurately, and on-time
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ensures compliance to inventory processes and procedures, and contractual obligations.
- Ability to physically count and validate inventory
- Utilize computer terminal/scan gun accurately to document defects identified
Qualifications:
- Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
- Minimum 1-3 months related experience and/or training in warehouse environment (ideally inbound)
- Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred).
- PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.
Education and/or Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Further ability to apply and put that knowledge into action as inspections are performed.
- Ability to read and write emails.
- Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
- Forklift certification a plus.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to determine “root cause” of problem and determine corrective action.
Computer Skills:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails and interpreting and/or creating reports.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand; walk; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl.

**Summary:** Packs quality finished goods into boxes for shipment and assists Technician with basic line issues in a safe and efficient manner.

+ Safely and effectively verifies conformance of finished goods to quality assurance standards by performing the following duties:
+ Serves as Quality Champion for the shift.
+ Attend daily shift handoff meetings.
+ Organize rework for packer and facilitates coaching/training on expectations.
+ Review production packaging and compare to product catalog and packaging requirements.
+ Inspect product, including weight, ID/OD, thickness and functionality
+ Visual inspect of product for defects
+ Understand cosmetic and functional defects
+ Set up, calibrate, and supply gages to production
+ Enters data into computer and prints required inspection documents
+ Familiarity with data acquisition
+ Usage of QC table set up in Thermoforming a plus
+ Collects product samples and perform test including but not limited to;
+ Pipe, Haze, Tuck Angle, Dyne, first check inspection, weights, dimensions (Thermo)
+ Visual inspections of print quality, tape adhesion test and fill line verification (Print)
+ Contains and inspects product when an issue is found
+ Place product on QC hold in house and electronically. (i.e. affix hold tickets, identify hold product and move to hold area)
+ Maintains records of all inspections and results
+ Verify Job Docket, Job Specification sheet, changeover and sign off on line
+ Completes paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
+ Perform case audits which include verification of the following
+ Packaging Materials, box, sleeves.
+ Port Tickets on the line matches the schedule
+ Production Code is legible
+ Assure sleeve count, # of sleeves and configuration of the box and pallets are correct

- Performs visual inspection during labeling process (including bottles, jars, bags) for proper placement of label, correct name of product and/or ingredient per Q.A. sheets
Portioning
- Issues correct QC samples to production team leads/production associates prior to production, utilizing QA sheets to ensure correct portion amount for the specific ingredient being portioned
- Issues the proper measuring equipment (i.e. scales, measuring spoons, measuring cups, spatulas, pumps)
- Reinforces training for production team leads and associates on proper measurement using the equipment
- Confirms the portioned amount with production team leads for each portioned ingredient prior to starting production (based on QA sheets)
- Performs final verification of portioning and sign-off on portioning line prior to starting production
- Conducts hourly visual inspections of portioned ingredients for accuracy
Meal Bagging
- Utilizes production sheets to verify proper meal bag line setup
- Verifies that all ingredients required for the meal are present and within shelf life
- Confirms ingredient amounts with production team leads and associates (particularly for ingredients that require multiples)
- Sign-offs on production sheets
- Conducts hourly visual or physical inspections to ensure meal bag accuracy (by unpacking completed meal bag)
- Maintains continuous watch over meal bagging line and helps to close bags at the end of the line
- Performs random meal bag inspections to ensure produce quality and double check ingredient quantities on days when shipping lines are operational
Shipping Line
- All Lines
- Verifies set up of line (meat, meal bags, recipe cards, box call outs) using boxing call out sheet prior to start of shipping
- Communicates back to production team when errors are identified on the line
- Visually inspects meat for quality (e.g. freezer burn, discoloration, broken seals) when serving in the role of protein QA
- Understands and can conduct sanitation process for proteins that have fallen on the floor or have been otherwise exposed to potential sources of cross-contamination
- Similar Line:
- Verifies the setup of the line prior to each run, ensuring correct product is present, and initials similar sign off sheet with start time
- Ensure correct pick quantity (e.g. 4 serving run) has been communicated to the production associates working on the line
- Unique & Hybrid Lines:
- Confirms correct proteins, meal bags, box call outs, recipe cards, and ice quantity have been placed in each box utilizing the pick ticket
Receiving/Outbound Transfers
- Completes and properly documents QC inspections of all inbound/outbound ingredients
- Escalates issues to FSQA Supervisor/FSQA leadership of any issues regarding quality or food safety
Other Responsibilities
Final Box Verification
- Removes boxes systematically from each line and completes the final box verification form
- Documenting issues identified in the box as well which shipping line it was packed on
- Provides feedback to production supervisor and or team lead running the shipping line when issues are identified
- Corrects issues identified in boxes checked and ensures box is placed on pallet for shipping
Post-op Clean up
- Collects all utensils (scales, dishers, measuring cups, measuring spoons, etc.) from sanitation after they have been cleaned and sanitized and places them in designated spots within the QA lab for the next shift
- Places QA sheet / clipboard / tablet in designated storage area
Equipment Setup and Maintenance
- Sets up portion fillers with ingredients requested
- Verifies Scales used in portioning
Issue Escalation
- Promptly notifies FSQA Supervisor and/or FSQA Leadership when quality issues arise such as produce quality, portioning quantity, or missing ingredients
General Responsibilities
- Follow the facility GMP's and help enforce them throughout the facility
- Support the efforts of the company to maintain our food safety system (SQF) and quality programs
