Job Description
A federal client of Insight Global is looking for a Quality Control Specialist to join their team in Atlanta Georgia. This person will be supporting a stockpile that houses emergency response equipment that can be deployed in emergency situations such as covid 19 or natural disasters. Product in this stockpile can include but not limited to vaccine equipment, medicine, masks, ventilators, etc. This person will be working in the stockpile conducting quality control audits on everything that comes into and or is already existing in the warehouse. This person is expected to understand standard operating procedures and be able to draft them up. They will also be expected to know FDA regulations and guidelines and communicate with third party vendors.
Compensation:
$20/hr to $23/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

- A minimum five (5) years of quality control/quality assurance experience in the pharmaceutical
industry providing oversight to QC/QA tasks/projects and other cGMP oversite responsibilities.
- Direct quality control experience (we have been running into people that have CTMP and work with quality control they need to be apart of the team- actually doing tasks themselves)
- Experience conducting quality control audits
- Expertise in maintaining regulatory compliance-including during PHE responses-with cGMP, inventory systems validation, FDA regulatory guidance, and 21 CFR (Parts 11, 210, 211, 600 and 800)
- Being able to interpret SOPs (standard operation procedures)and Draft them
- Familiar with FDA guidelines (pharmaceutical or food industry)
- Ability to Lift 25 pounds
- Comfortable with 10% travel if needed - Excel
- Previously worked for CDC/Government

Summary:

QC Chemist personnel ensures that profitable, quality products are sold to the marketplace in compliance with the applicable ISO standards by the efficient, reproducible, and accurate analysis of raw materials, intermediate products, and final products, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the processes supporting this outcome.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Chemical and physical analysis of raw materials, intermediate products, and final products to ensure conformity to standards and specifications with the generation of accurate test records. Tests include, but are not limited to gas chromatography, automated and manual titration, Brookfield, and U-tube viscosity, FTIR spectroscopy, pH measurement, tensile and overlap shear force measurement, physical properties testing (hardness, resilience), and UV curing and photoactivity of UV-curable resins/adhesives.
• Laboratory instrumentation/equipment upkeep and maintenance, including troubleshooting.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement in laboratory practices for quality, safety, and environmental health.
• Creation and revision of standard operating procedures, test procedures and forms.

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience Required:

• A 4-year degree in chemistry or related field, and 1-2 years of experience in a Quality Control Lab or similar chemistry field. Familiarity with analytical testing concepts, practices, and instrumentation/equipment use and maintenance. Proficiency with Microsoft Office required (Excel, Word, Office).
• All employees must successfully complete and pass a respirator fit test and online medical exam in compliance with applicable OSHA standards as a condition of employment. This qualification is mandatory for performing essential job functions safely and effectively.

Language Skills:

• English required, bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

Physical Demands:

• Walking, standing for prolonged periods, may frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds, good manual dexterity for proper laboratory techniques.

• Highly experienced in surface preparation, cleanliness, environmental conditions, test instruments, coating mixtures and safety concerns.
• Capable of undertaking non-destructive and destructive inspections of thermal spray coatings to any substrate without supervision
• Possess technical knowledge of coatings, problem solving abilities for issues that arise on site and capable of supervising coating inspectors.
• Education: BS Degree or equivalent technical training/experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office & Field environment.  Ability to travel up to 75% of the time. When traveling, will be in plant/industrial environments.
