As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will provide essential engineering and technical support across various teams, including Quality, Tooling Engineers, Maintenance, Process Engineers, and Project Engineers. You will collaborate with Production teams to ensure daily production meets safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost objectives. Your role will involve implementing new products and partnering with commercial teams to bring new opportunities into the plant. You will oversee projects through their theory, trial, phase, commercial, and manufacturing stages efficiently. Additionally, you will focus on throughput improvements to enhance asset output and capacity, and you will work on cost reduction strategies by identifying and eliminating gaps and losses on the floor.
Responsibilities
+ Solve problems on the factory floor and serve as the primary technical resource for resolving production issues escalated through the factory.
+ Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis activities, and implement long-term solutions to prevent re-occurrence.
+ Develop and implement process improvements.
+ Generate and maintain updated manufacturing documentation, including BOM's, specification changes, ECO's, reports, print revisions, fixturing, and protocols.
+ Lead formal root cause investigations and implement corrective actions promptly, confirming their effectiveness through statistical analysis.
+ Interface with suppliers for incoming components, outsourced services, and new process equipment.
+ Write and revise protocols and reports for validation purposes, both internally and externally.
+ Complete process FMEA's as required and implement and review process controls.
+ Contribute as a member of the Material Review Board.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.67 - $52.88/hr.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing with a disciplined approach to problem solving (including fishbone diagrams, 6s, value stream mapping, job safety analysis, etc.) in program launches, rework and continuous improvement.
- Provide effective leadership by constructively challenging deployed processes, inspiring a shared vision enabling others to act, transparently modeling/leading the way.
- Utilize an understanding of current and potential process capabilities and process control limits to improve quality and to assess incoming work.
- Support and document continuous improvement opportunities to reduce cycle times and reduce scrap and waste.
- Develop financial justifications for capital equipment and process changes.
- Design and carry out time studies, method analysis, and other work measurement activities.
- Demonstrate the use of computer simulations of processes and provide input and recommendations for improvements to the plant regarding production processes.
- Serve as a resource, provide expert technical assistance, and deliver on-the-job training to employee-owners, to ensure all work is performed per specifications in an expeditious, complete, cost effective, and safe manner.
- Meet key performance measures for the assigned process families in the areas of safety, quality, cost, productivity, and timely completion of customer orders.
- Create/update/maintain routings, work instructions and blueprints to meet customer specifications and quality standards in the most cost-efficient manner.

Qualifications:
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering/technology or related degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of related experience in machining and in manufacturing and/or metals industry
- Experience in project management, applying industrial engineering methods, and technical applications of manufacturing practices.
- Experience with writing CNC programs and CNC set ups
- Proficient knowledge of SolidWorks or other CAD/CAM software and Geometrical Tolerance specification/application.
- Highly proficient ability to communicate technical issues to various internal production and business departments and to external vendors and customers.
- Demonstrate expert mathematical and mechanical skills
- Extensive experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint.
Preferred Skills
- 5+ years of applied experience in an Engineering/Technology position in manufacturing and/or metals industry.
- History of success in improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience in quality tools and relevant safety regulations.

* Partner with sustaining engineering to identify improvements in manufacturing equipment/process to improve productivity and quality of current and future products while expecting cost reductions.
Business Monitoring
* Ensure area and personnel MBOs, budgets, KPIs, manning levels, and other business monitoring tools are developed and achieved on an annual basis.
New Product/Process Support
* Attend and participate on product development teams for new products and processes that will require manufacturing time and manufacturing resources.
* Plan, budget, and implement initiatives for manufacturing of new products or with new processes.
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent. Required
* Industrial Engineering background or training.
* Trained in and has applied Lean and Six Sigma (Green or Black belt) principles.
* Advanced training in personnel management.
* Extensive hands-on experience and supervision of manufacturing department, engineering, or quality (10+ years). Required

About this role:
iRhythm is currently seeking an experienced Manager, Intake Operations for our Deerfield, IL location. This position will manage the team who processes device returns for data extraction. This role includes the oversight of domestic Intake Operations for two shifts as well as supporting our International Intake Operations team. The Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for Intake Operations to meet business needs. The Manager will act as advisor to Intake Leads aiding in operations and resolving technical and non-technical problems.
Specific job responsibilities include:
* Planning and directing the Intake Operations to meet company goals for quality, productivity, and safety in compliance with medical device regulations.
* Building and maintaining interdepartmental relationships with Human Resources, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Customer Care.
* Supporting New Product Introduction to Intake as it relates to Intake applications tools/equipment.
* Developing and implementing cost-effective alternatives and improvements overall Intake processes.
* Managing Intake Operations budgets by Cost Center (Direct Labor, Materials & Overheads).
* Ensuring proper staffing levels, efficiency, and quantity, to meet customer requirements.
* Maintaining employee safety and morale by creating a safe, efficient, and fun working environment.
* Fostering a collaborative, open and boundaryless culture of ownership and accountability
* Ensuring that all employees receive adequate training, devices are processed within Intake specifications, and that all SOP's, Work Instructions and Guidelines are appropriately enforced.
* Encouraging development opportunities for team members through participation in education programs, training meetings and workshops.
* Additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

About you:
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in industrial/manufacturing engineering or alternate technical discipline.
* Minimum 5+ years' progressive operations/manufacturing experience with at least 2 years of that in management within a manufacturing environment preferred.
* Medical Device, Pharma, or Biotech experience; thorough understanding of ISO 13485 and FDA regulations.
* Proven track record of leading a team to consistently deliver high-quality products/services.
* Demonstrated leadership skills; clear examples of motivating, influencing, and developing team members at all levels.
* Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, balance and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively communicate complex information to all employee levels, and to set clear expectations.
* Experience with lean manufacturing (or similar) principles.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
* Other Preferred Skills / Experience: Knowledgeable in Salesforce, Amazon Webservices, and Splunk.
