Quality Control Inspector

At Shredfast, Inc., the Quality Control Inspector is a position within the Quality Control Department. QC is a final stage 'key' department as part of the Shredfast manufacturing production line. This stage involves testing units and determining if they are within the specifications for the final product and identifying if corrective action is needed upstream in the manufacturing process. The flow of documents from QC to the Accounts Receivable department truck files ensures completed truck files are recorded and accessible to accounting, sales & service. Attention to quality and detail are key attributes for this position. Duties and responsibilities include inspecting in detail mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic functions of our manufactured products and documenting on QC paperwork, reporting products for defects and any deviations from specifications. Reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications. Cross-reference department lead's quality control paperwork and ensure that it's documented properly, discuss results and findings of the products with department lead, and recommend any required corrective actions. Work constructively and effectively with the various department leads, accounts receivables, sales, service, and reception. Use good communication & organizational skills, be an adaptable learner, maintain a tidy work environment. Perform paper shredding tests on our manufactured shredding vehicles to ensure they meet company guidelines. Install chassis placards, final clean & wipe down in preparing equipment for transport. Stage final product on company premises for driver pickup. Occasionally drive test vehicles on a test route to replicate real-world environments (for those candidates 25 years or older). Must be thorough in following procedure.

Physical Requirements include being in good physical condition and able to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, sit, stoop, get in and out of vehicles and work on ladders throughout the day. Self-motivated and able to stay on task with good attention to detail. Dependable transportation required. Must maintain a clean and organized work environment.

All applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. This is a Safety Sensitive position that requires a pre-employment drug screen that includes marijuana (tetrahydrocannabinol -- THC & nonpsychoactive cannabis metabolites- CBD), amphetamines, cocaine metabolites, opioids (including heroin, morphine, and codeine), and phencyclidine (PCP).

Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday / 7:00am -- 3:30pm (non-exempt) for Full-Time position (Part-Time positions also available) - Overtime opportunities available. Requirements include mechanical background and have worked with 12V electronics and hydraulics. Familiar with general mechanical equipment and have a basic understanding of operating functions. Experience in the safe use of hand or power tools such as drills, caulk gun or air gun.

Job Description:

The Manufacturing Process Technician - Formulation, Weekday Days works in highly controlled areas and follows specific procedures for insuring product is properly compounded and preserving the sterility of aseptically manufactured products. The primary function of position is to perform all compounding duties to support SVP1 and SVP2 aseptic fill lines. Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Operate all pieces of equipment within the compounding area. (Tanks, mixers, pumps)
  2. Perform equipment staging and post run activities for scheduled production run.
  3. Compound the various solutions manufactured in the SVP area.
  4. Utilize measurement devices such as scales, pH meters, and dissolved Oxygen meters.
  5. Perform accurately basic arithmetic functions including calculation of percentages.
  6. Maintain a clean work area.
  7. Follow Standard Operating Procedures while performing all job functions.
  8. Document accurately production processes on issued paperwork and equipment logs.
  9. Acts safely protecting self, others, property and product.
  10. Works with pressurized systems, i.e., air, stream, and hot water.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate of Science desired.
  • Ability to perform basic math required (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and ratios)
  • Experience in chemical compounding and pharmaceutical production helpful.
  • Manufacturing production and equipment operation experience is desired.
  • Pharmaceutical and FDA Regulated Industry Experience desired.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40-70 pounds. Prolonged standing. Exposure to Latex and other allergens. Confined spaces. Pushing and pulling.

Shift: Weekday Day Shift

  • Rotating 3-day / 4-day schedule; Monday - Wednesday & every other Thursday 6am - 6pm
  • Training & Onboarding for position will be first 5 weeks:
    • Week 1: New Hire Orientation Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm
    • Weeks 2-5: Monday - Thursday 6am - 4:30pm


Compensation & Benefits:

This is an on-site, full-time position located in Spokane, WA.

  • Hiring Wage: $25.00/hr . with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises. See full list of benefits below for our complete compensation package.
    • Shift Differential pay is available for this position, and is determined by hours worked on selected shift.
