Quality Control Technician
Job Description
As a Quality Control Technician, you will perform essential testing within a production lab, focusing on wet chemistry testing, gas chromatography (GC) testing, viscosity, and color testing. Your work will primarily involve final product testing release, and you will have the opportunity to cross-train across different product lines and labs to support diverse company needs.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct wet chemistry testing, titration, and GC testing to ensure quality control.
+ Perform specific tests such as viscosity, loss on heating (LOH), specific gravity, and melting point.
+ Handle testing of a variety of products, including rubber tire additives, oil additives, and chlorine-based products.
+ Operate auto titrators and perform visual color testing.
+ Input samples and test results into Sample Manager and ensure final results are recorded in SAP.
+ Train on and execute highly specific tests, ensuring accuracy in all processes.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in a lab environment with a focus on analytical chemistry.
+ Proficiency in gas chromatography and basic wet chemistry procedures.
+ Ability to perform titrations and manage quality control processes.
+ Experience in troubleshooting within a laboratory setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; at least 1-3 years of lab experience is preferred.
+ Experience in any industry related to pharma or chemical sectors is advantageous.
+ Experience in chemical industry wet chemistry testing is beneficial.
+ Willingness to learn and adapt to new standards and procedures.
Work Environment
The work environment is a production lab setting with a variety of substances, including oily materials. The lab is divided into different sections, offering a dynamic atmosphere for learning and skill growth. While the facility is well-maintained, it is not a pharmaceutical-grade cleanroom. Strong smells are present, and uniforms are provided. The lab is equipped with both new and older technology, offering a broad scope of experience.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.

**Qualifications**

  • Develop and manage quality control documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and inspection records.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001), and relevant regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing quality management systems (QMS).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control methodologies (e.g., SPC, Six Sigma, Lean).

**Position Summary:**
Supervises, plans, coordinates and directs quality control program designed to ensure food safety consistent with established company and regulatory standards. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company
