As a Remote Quality Control Manager, you will oversee the development, implementation, and execution of quality control systems that ensure products or services meet defined standards of excellence. You will lead a team of quality professionals, analyze quality trends, manage inspections or audits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement across the organization.
This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in quality management systems (QMS), regulatory compliance, and process optimization who are comfortable leading remote teams and managing QC functions in distributed environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain quality control policies and procedures that align with industry standards and internal objectives
Lead quality audits, inspections, and testing processes for products, deliverables, or services
Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and customer quality requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, GMP, FDA, HACCP, Six Sigma, or CMMI depending on industry)
Manage remote or distributed QC teams, assigning tasks, reviewing performance, and coaching for continuous improvement
Analyze quality performance metrics and non-conformances, and lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
Coordinate with manufacturing, operations, engineering, or customer service teams to resolve quality issues efficiently
Oversee the documentation of quality control reports, inspection protocols, test results, and audit findings
Identify process inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality and reduce waste or rework
Train and guide employees on quality procedures, standards, and documentation best practices
Support vendor qualification and monitor supplier quality performance when applicable
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, or a related field
2+ years of experience in quality control, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance
Prior experience managing quality programs or QC teams, ideally in a remote or hybrid setting
Strong knowledge of quality standards, methodologies, and tools (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean, GMP, etc.)
Experience with digital quality tools (e.g., QMS platforms, digital audit checklists, quality dashboards)
Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and quality or production management software.

- Proficient: Minimum six (6) months of optical manufacturing experience in same or similar position prior to skills assessment to determine ability to perform all applicable essential functions identified by their respective lab/department

- Computer literate

- Participate in team, department, and company-wide meetings as scheduled; Actively participate in team discussions and provide feedback to maintain and improve the work environment
- Ensure that work area is clean and organized and prepared for the next shift with all items in their designated locations
- Utilize proper handling techniques and equipment to minimize damages and reduce injuries
- Follow and uphold all OSHA and company safety guidelines, policies, and regulations

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent experience is required for full-time employment.
- Entry-level: No specific prior work experience required; training provided to enable employees to perform the minimum essential functions identified by their respective lab/department
- Proficient: Minimum six (6) months of optical manufacturing experience in same or similar position prior to skills assessment to determine ability to perform all applicable essential functions identified by their respective lab/department
- Ability to follow procedure and contribute as an individual and a team member
- Prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Computer literate
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $18.50
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan.
