Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Operations Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our production and related processes. As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient coordination and control of production activities, meeting production objectives, and managing costs in alignment with the budget. Your expertise in operations management and leadership skills will be essential in achieving operational excellence and driving the company's growth.
Primary Duties:
- Production Planning and Coordination: Develop production output plans for all manufactured items based on historical sales data and guidance from the President. Ensure that production lines operate at maximum efficiency to meet production targets.
- Team Guidance and Training: Provide guidance, performance objectives, and training to production and support personnel to enhance efficiency and meet performance targets.
- Quality Control: Implement necessary controls and training throughout the production process to maintain finished goods' quality in line with company standards and objectives.
- Cost Management: Manage and control all production-related costs, including labor and materials, to ensure cost-effective production of finished goods.
- Third-Party Material Procurement: Collaborate with parts personnel to establish proper ordering procedures and guidelines for third-party purchased raw materials and tools, optimizing order processing and cost efficiencies while maintaining material inventory levels.
- Facility and Equipment Maintenance: Provide guidance and direction to Facility/Machine Maintenance Personnel to ensure all facility and equipment components are calibrated, maintained, and functioning properly to prevent/minimize production interruptions.
- Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to standard and regulated workplace safety standards, taking management-approved corrective actions as necessary.
- Budget Management: Assist the President in preparing and monitoring production-related operating budgets and annual plans, providing explanations for variances on a monthly basis.
- Performance Monitoring: Constantly monitor key operating metrics to ensure day-to-day production operations' efficiency and financial strength. Implement corrective measures when metrics fall outside acceptable guidelines set by the President.
- Strategic Decision Support: Assist in key management decision-making by providing documentation and analyses to identify strategic and operational opportunities for growth and financial improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in operations management or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive operations experience in manufacturing or related fields.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in managing a high-volume production environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and people management/training skills.
- Proficient in budget development and oversight.
- Knowledge of business productivity software and ability to learn new applications.

Shaw Industries is hiring a supervisor for 12 hour night shift (C Shift) To supervise a safe, efficient and productive work environment so as to satisfy our customers' (both internal and external) requirements, and improve the overall abilities of all employees through the demonstration of Shaw's Front Line Leadership Competencies. Responsibilities:
+ Must build trusting relationships with associates and site leadership

+ Respond to emergencies and assist in incident command- fires, spills, threats, disorderly conduct, equipment abuse, power failure etc. Notify proper personnel
+ Be an active participant on teams involving safety, quality, production, and customer satisfaction.
+ Ensure line breaks and confined space entries permits are completed and equipment is properly Lockout and Tagged out.
+ Audit equipment lockout and tag out procedures prior to and during routine/non-routine maintenance to ensure zero energy and safety compliance.
+ Develop overall area systems knowledge.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by department manager.

Essential Duties:

+ Attend and/or conduct FDB and periodic departmental meetings.
+ Actively participate in P.R.I.D.E. process either through involvement in a P.R.I.D.E. subcommittee or through creating employee P.R.I.D.E. awareness or both.
+ If off-quality is detected in carpet, troubleshoot root cause and correct if possible.
+ Assess defect exposure. Make sure defect has not spanned over several previous rolls.
+ When notified of Nonconforming material, ensure correct disposition into proper location .
+ Cover "Plant 7G Standard Work & Crew Assignment Sheet" with oncoming Supervisor prior to end of shift.
Education and Experience Requirements:
+ High School Diploma / GED
+ Prior leadership experience within the last 3 years
+ Previous manufacturing experience/Tufting
+ Strong communication , interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
+ Proficient with basic computer software such as Google, Microsoft, Smartsheets , GLink , YSF, etc.

Position Objectives:
To obtain a skilled tufting machine operator that will learn to operate other machinery and other responsibilities within the process and must be able to successfully perform all requirements of the machine operator 3 function in a specific time frame.
Responsibilities
+ Utility - ability to operate backwinder and a stationary lift. Ability to pull and relocate yarn.
+ Y Feed Operator - ability to break down yarn and load yarn onto a creel with different thread ups and blow yarn into a mobile x-creel.
+ Yarn Processing - the ability to print orders and operate an air entangled and twister machine using single denier yarn to make yarn of different denier sizes.
+ Machine Operator 3 - the ability to set up and operate all gauge group tufting machines with the ability to burn in creels and perform necessary crossed end checks.

Shaw Industries is looking for a 2nd shift Supervisor to supervise associates operating the Turf continuous line by continually monitoring the appropriate shift operations and ensuring compliance with all company, plant, and departmental guidelines and procedures.

+ Supervise a group of associates on a continuous line operation that will tuft and coat a field.
+ Monitor associates and equipment all Gantries to ensure the turf is being tufted and coated correctly and in the right pattern.
+ Act as liaison between Department Manager and employees by providing an effective line of communication within the department.
+ Responsible for the execution of SMS Procedures
+ Monitor all departmental production, production quality, processes and procedures and ensure that departmental SMS procedures and instructions are continually followed by all employees
+ Ensure that department machinery and equipment is well maintained and repaired, when needed
+ Support and follow Environmental procedures and programs
+ Assist Scheduling and Department Manager in the production planning process for the department to include ordering yarn and setting up departmental and plant test procedures prior to running mixed lots.
+ Complete the appropriate paperwork needed to effectively monitor and record departmental productivity, quality and performance
+ Attend and/or conduct periodic departmental meetings
+ When the need arises, perform or delegate the performance of any of the various jobs or procedures within the department while referring to the appropriate SMS. Instructional and Procedural documentation
+ Assist employees in resolving any job-related problems or concerns
+ If quality issues are detected, troubleshoot root cause and correct if possible. Notify Department Manager or Process Engineer, if unable to fix.
+ Communicate to the oncoming shift supervisor any quality or mechanical concerns.
Non-Essential Duties: (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility):
+ Perform other non-quality-related duties, as directed by Department Manager
+ Work any schedule needed to accomplish job tasks, in a timely manner
+ Assist R & D with samples and TPR's.
+ Follow procedures for employees returning from LOA or Layoff
+ Work to develop systems and attitudes to ensure improved housekeeping
+ Serve on task forces and committees, as necessary
+ Yarn and backing inventories on shutdown
+ Make sure all machines, lights and power are off at shutdown
Education and Experience Requirements:
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ Leadership experience within the last 3 years
+ Tufting experience preferred
+ Experience in carpet manufacturing and ability to identify carpet defects
