We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Technician with over three years of experience in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in assembling and testing products, as well as proficiency in blueprint reading. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills to support various hourly positions and operations within the manufacturing facility.
**Responsibilities**
+ Fill in for or support various hourly positions using mechanical and electrical skills in assembly, painting, washing, welding equipment operations, shipping/receiving, product testing, and storeroom duties.
+ Operate machines and tools such as band saws, plasma cutters, various gas cutting equipment, stick welders, mig welders, magnetic drills, grinders, drill presses, jib and overhead cranes, portable hydraulic circuit testers, amprobes, voltage and OHM meters, strobe lights, hand tools, hydraulic hose crimping machines, welding robots, and occasionally use micrometers.
+ Assemble and test manufactured products.
+ Perform repairs and calibration of products.
+ Work according to work orders, bills of material, product engineering designs, schematics (both electrical and hydraulic), and various specifications.
+ Record test results and as-built features when not standard.
+ Collaborate with Engineering on prototype development projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
+ Participate on the APQP team and complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
+ Constantly implement continuous improvement activities that drive waste and cost from the manufacturing processes.

+ Support the implementation of CE's on plan for time and cost.
+ Conduct problem solving and documentation through the application of Lean Manufacturing principles and scientific techniques like 6-Sigma.
+ Conduct time studies and keep BOM's and routers accurate and up to date. Use the data to focus activities on areas with the largest financial return.
+ Write and implement technical work instructions for complex processes/parts.
+ Support the development of timely cost estimates for new business opportunities as needed.
+ Participate on Kaizen teams as required.
+ Responsible for providing error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of the position.
+ Develop professional expertise by maintaining contacts in the industry. Continue to develop depth of knowledge by studying innovations and changes in their specific field.
Skills and Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience.
+ Four years of applicable work experience.
+ Working knowledge of lean principles and of Six Sigma methodology.
+ Proficiency in MS Word and Outlook.
+ Must be able to communicate both orally and effectively with various members of the organization.
+ Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
+ Speak, write, and comprehend conversational English.
Physical Requirements
+ Ability to lift 20 lbs. as needed.
+ Ability to bend, stand, climb, twist and stoop for extended periods of time.
+ Ability to perform sedentary work including sitting for extended periods of time.
+ Ability to operate standard office equipment.
+ Have good vision of 20/30 with corrective lenses.
