Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
As a Manufacturing Engineer focusing on Machining, you will design new products, provide engineering support for existing products, develop components for application to new or existing products, and reduce costs for existing designs. This role involves working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Responsibilities
+ Support existing production products and manage technical assignments that contribute to larger projects.
+ Select appropriate techniques to solve problems and make informed process and programming recommendations using vertical and horizontal machines, as well as lathes, to ensure results meet established design standards and customer specifications.
+ Develop and apply automation technology systems, vision systems, and laser QR etching.
+ Develop and support quality inspections using various systems and tools.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's or technical school degree in engineering-related discipline.
+ Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing setting.
+ Proficiency in reading and writing G and M code with a solid understanding of GD&T.
+ Experience with Autodesk CAD/CAM software, with NX CAM being advantageous.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in CNC programming and CMM programming.
+ Quality experience, including gauge selection and planning.
+ Skills in pneumatics/hydraulics and CAD (2D & 3D).
+ Self-motivated with a mindset to find answers independently.
+ Driven and eager for new challenges and knowledge.
Work Environment
You will be part of a product support team, assisting CNC setup operators and managing process improvements such as ECN's, cost control, and cycle time reductions. The schedule is from 7:00 am to 4/4:30 pm with flexibility, and there might be occasional night calls during busy winter months. The environment is collaborative, with weekly team meetings for scorecards and problem-solving, fostering open communication and shared success.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $45.67/hr.

What you will do:

• Implements and maintains plant sanitation programs and ensures compliance with company policies as stated in the food safety manual.

• Assemble team to review recommended changes to CIP circuits

• Continually audits sanitation and CIP/COP processes to ensure compliance with MSS and SSOPs

• On at least an annual basis validates all plant CIP circuits

• Audit of the chemical supplier system checks and verify their findings on a weekly basis

• Oversees plant Master Sanitation program

• Verify the completion of the MSS sheets weekly

• Validate the program through checks of systems and equipment to ensure the correct frequency. Ensure all required machinery is included in the program

• Collaborates with the maintenance planner on the master sanitation items

• Works with Production and other management to plan and schedule work of supervised staff to meet sanitation schedules while maximizing productivity

• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems

• Collaborates with QA staff to troubleshoot and analyze sanitation-related issues

• Recommends measures to continuously improve sanitation methods, equipment performance, and quality of products produced and distributed by the plant

• Validates SOPs annually or when systems are modified

• Integral part of the internal audit is to perform validation of SOP's

• Manages relationships with outside vendors such as the plant chemical supplier

• Able to inventory and order supplies as needed

• Write necessary work orders to ensure equipment and CIP programs are repaired or modified based on recommendations

• Collaborates with managers and supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments including production to identify, solve and prevent problems affecting sanitation

• Provides feedback to production staff on assignments for employees in sanitation tasks

• Trains and instructs employees in regard to sanitation standards, SSOPs and objectives. Oversees instruction, implementation and enforcement of policies as they relate to sanitation.

**About the Role**
Caterpillar's Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Order-to-Delivery (MSOD) Intern program seeks students currently enrolled in a four-year university to work alongside manufacturing professionals to learn and apply themselves to project work within their teams.

Documenting architecture specifications, software design description, verification plans, test cases, operating procedures, and safety procedures. Utilizing appropriate tools to debug, test and maintain software and hardware systems of robotic tools; assisting in the verification and validation process. Participating in design and development of application software and algorithms for robotic platforms.

**Job Summary:**
This position is responsible for managing daily and long-term activities of the Quality Control laboratory in the Decatur BioProducts Facility. This position will provide leadership to the Quality Control team, as well as plan and deploy continuous improvement opportunities for lab instrumentation, procedures, and colleagues. This position will facilitate lab output of timely and reliable data, for the purpose of controlling and monitoring processes, as well as ensuring Quality and Food Safety compliance of finished products. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.
**Primary Job Functions:**
+ Lead QC lab Safety program and help facilitate ADM Safety initiatives
+ Ensure compliance of all laboratory colleagues with Safety, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures
+ Manage laboratory personnel staffing, performance and professional development
+ Ensure training, proficiency, and development of laboratory technicians in all aspects of in-process and finished product testing, including intra and inter-lab proficiency programs
+ Facilitate development, approval, implementation and maintenance of laboratory records, policies and procedures, adhering to applicable food/feed standards and regulations, as well as ADM Quality initiatives
+ Ensure standardization, maintenance and optimization of QC lab data inputs and outputs, including analytical testing schedules for both internal and external testing, as well as key performance indicators and metrics for success
+ Oversee selection, installation, validation and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation
+ Collaborate with QA and Operations leadership to ensure lab colleague education on, and compliance with, applicable food/feed safety protocols and expectations
+ Assist in root cause analysis for Quality and Food Safety non-compliance
+ Drive contamination troubleshooting efforts in fermentation processes
+ Provide technical consultation to Operations team for product analysis
+ Collaborate with other ADM locations on laboratory troubleshooting, improvement and standardization objectives
+ Arrange and help provide troubleshooting support to the QC lab on weekends, holidays and outside of regular business hours
**Job Qualifications:**
+ Minimum Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or similar science field is preferred
+ 5+ years of laboratory experience in a food/feed setting preferred
+ Excellent communication skills to provide guidance and feedback
+ Good leadership skills and experience facilitating cross-functional team activities
+ Desire to see continuous improvement in processes and programs
+ Ability to troubleshoot standard lab equipment (HPLC, GCs, Titrators etc.) required
+ Ability to work as a team member and independently
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
+ Working knowledge of Statistics desired
+ Working knowledge of cGMP, cGLP, ISO, USP-NF, FCC, HACCP PCQI desired

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:
