Plan and direct the Unit's operations area, addressing the area's needs, ensuring the production levels necessary to cover stock levels, meeting efficiency and quality indicators, and guaranteeing compliance with integrated management systems to achieve the company's objectives and goals.
Responsibilities and assignments
- Manage the efficient production process, meeting the demands of the planning/scheduling area through productive tools, inventory maintenance, and action plans aimed at productivity and flexibility gains;
- Motivate and develop the team by monitoring and supporting their activities, providing ongoing training, and providing constant feedback, thus generating a favorable organizational climate and an environment of transparency and respect that generates greater productivity.
- Manage resources, operational goals, and the flow of the production chain by monitoring indicators and making decisions and implementing continuous improvement actions aligned with the company's strategy.
- Develop, control, and optimize the Cost Center's investment and expense budgets through monthly accounting management.
Requirements and Qualifications
- University Degree: Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (degree required);
- Master's Degree: MBA in Business Management is desirable;
- Six years of experience in supervisory or operations management roles is required.

Responsibilities:
+ Directs and assists managers and supervisors engaged in the daily operation of the production and maintenance departments
+ Develops the budget and controls for department spending at budgeted levels
+ Maintains actual cost of goods at or below standard. Investigates ways to reduce scrap waste out-of-specification and contaminated ingredients. Explores ways to reduce the manpower and effort needed to produce products without sacrificing quality. Researches and proposes equipment and employee utilization for cost effectiveness. Presents proposals to the Director of Manufacturing
+ Monitors performance of the manufacturing facility by using reports from Plant Management, Human Resources and Food Safety Quality
+ Prepares and/or compiles operating reports for the Director of Manufacturing. Follows up on opportunities for improvement with appropriate management in all operating areas, and adjusts daily work schedule as needed to meet production requirements
+ Manages, trains, and develops subordinates to include skills development, safety, policy administration, employee relations, cost control, and problem solving.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent
+ 8+ years of related experience, including 5+ years leading large production teams, ideally in a food setting
+ Must possess management/direct leadership experience
+ Prior experience in food manufacturing with exposure to USDA/FDA regulations strongly preferred
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
+ Ability to calculate and present financial figures and equipment performance to employees and upper management
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $104,625 to $174,375 annually with eligibility for a 20% annual incentive bonus, that is based on organizational performance. The pay range represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to educations, skills, work experience, certifications, geography etc. As such, starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range. Job Summary:
The Quality Control Supervisor will directly support the General Manager, and will indirectly support the Corporate Quality Analyst at Med for America in Desert Hot Springs, CA. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Quality Control Technicians, ensuring compliance with company processes and legal standards, managing staff performance, and reporting data insights to leadership. This position requires collaborating cross-functionally with other departments as needed to identify or support corrective actions, continuous improvement initiatives, and other operational needs.
SCHEDULE: MONDAY - FRIDAY, 2:30 PM - 11:30 PM
Duties/Responsibilities :
- Train, supervise, and lead QC Technicians inspecting products at all stages of the manufacturing process (before, during, and after production) to ensure incoming or outgoing products achieve company and legal standards, including raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
- Monitor to ensure QC staff adheres to established company processes and standards.
- Communicate performance-related feedback to the team, identifying and executing opportunities for retraining or labor reallocation as needed.
- Oversee QC staff schedules and labor allocation, ensuring accurate timekeeping/payroll. Ensure labor resources are effectively and efficiently hired and distributed.
- Conduct QC staff performance reviews.
- Develop QC personnel by holding team meetings and providing guidance, mentorship, and a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Monitor and report KPIs to ensure compliance with applicable cannabis regulations as well as DreamFields' internal specifications, policies, and procedures. Communicate and address any quality- or compliance-related issues or insights with urgency and clarity.
- Collect, verify, and accurately report QC data from Technicians every 2 hours.
- Review, analyze, and report data reported by QC Technicians to leadership daily.
- Monitor and report on environmental conditions daily.
- Conduct and document daily spot-checks of QC Technicians' work.
- Collaborate cross-departmentally to support nonconformance investigations (root cause analyses) and identify corrective actions.
- Contribute to error reduction and process enhancements.
- Cross-functionally communicate risks and actions needed to mitigate or eliminate them.
- Foster and drive a "right first time" manufacturing culture requiring a cross-departmental sense of shared responsibility for quality outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and propose SOP revisions as needed.
- Support internal audits to identify, track, and correct process deviations or product-related deficiencies, ensuring accurate and thorough recordkeeping.
- Lead implementation of updated standards or procedures at the Technician level.
- Support General Manager or corporate leadership with continuous improvement or growth initiatives, including but not limited to quality trials/experiments or new product launches.
- Oversee tests or experiments and report data and actionable insights necessary to drive decisions in line with company goals. Propose data-driven recommendations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have reliable transportation.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to accurately inspect products to identify defects, count and transcribe numerical data, and verify product labeling.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including the ability to read, edit, and interpret spreadsheets, SOPs, and technical documents.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide effective coaching and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Must be able to effectively follow and provide instructions and ask questions as necessary to fulfill roles and expectations.
- Ability to maintain and enforce a high level of cleanliness, organization, and sanitary work environment standards.
- Analytical mindset with strong observational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to use data to drive decisions and resolve defects in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be adaptable and open to change.
- Knowledge of and ability to enforce workplace health and safety standards.
- Knowledge of and ability to enforce Good Manufacturing Practices - the human, environmental, and other manufacturing conditions necessary to achieve high-quality cannabis products.
Education and Experience:
- HS Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred.
- Experience in overseeing and coaching a team is required.
- Experience in a quality control or quality assurance role in cannabis or a similarly regulated industry is required.
- Familiarity with the Plan-Do-Act-Check (PDAC) cycle of change management is preferred.
