JOB SUMMARY:
Manufacturing Production manages or assists with managing various production activities (e.g., assembly, material forming/shaping, processing, treating, or packaging, etc.) including: Planning, directing, and monitoring production to meet established specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards. Liaising with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, etc. as input to developing production schedules and allocating labor/capital resources. Planning, prioritizing, and managing production line maintenance/downtime to minimize disruptions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Individuals in these roles primarily focus on directing, leveraging, and guiding the work of others, and mobilizing resources.
* Leaders typically manage two or more direct reports.

This position is responsible for collaborating closely with department managers to identify inefficiencies, implement process improvements, and ensure ongoing optimization.**

**CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:** **To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.**
**Must possess basic knowledge of automation, robotics, and NC programming.**
**Investigate, analyze and compile necessary data for recommendation and justification of new equipment or processes, tooling, material handling systems, and energy conservation processes; recommends and coordinates capital requirements for future years in all areas of the plant.**
**Analyze, develop, and document budgeted and unbudgeted cost improvement proposals; recommends and coordinates cost improvement recommendations for future years in all areas of the plant.**
**Take a leadership role in Problem Solving and Root Cause and Corrective Actions projects to address existing manufacturing processes opportunities.**
**Support plant strategy by actively participating in planning, preparation, execution and implementation of Kaizen Events and other Continuous Improvement initiatives.**
**Promotes and provides guidance to sustain and advance the 5S culture to all levels in the organization.**
**Provide manufacturing engineering recommendations and implement programs which are necessary to improve manufacturing operations and plant profit related to:**
**Utilization of assets**
**Productivity of direct and indirect labor, manpower requirements**
**ROI and payback calculations on capital equipment, job evaluation and cost control procedures**
**Plant layout and feasibility studies and capacity analysis**
**Manage key projects and initiatives using detailed timelines (Gantt charts) and critical path tools.**
**Recommend improved methods and processes based upon the latest technology in equipment and systems.**
**Works closely with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.**
**Conducts conventional time and motion studies for the purpose of developing standard time for standard costing purposes, compilation of standard data on verification of established rates.**
**Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), work instructions and checklists for existing and new processes.**
**Support APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process and deployment.**
**Utilizes effective communications with all levels of plant and corporate personnel.**
**Must ensure that all safety and environmental standards are maintained to the highest level.**
**Participate in training activities, both on and off site.**
**Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities**
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
**BS in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineer or related discipline.**
**Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement tools.**
**Trained in Lean methodologies and principles, Green Belt expected within 2 years in role**
**Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills in a team environment.**
**Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence change.**
**Analytical abilities are sufficient to handle all issues associated with Manufacturing Engineering and Continuous Improvement.**

**DAY IN THE LIFE** **:** **In this role, the working environment is both an indoor climate-controlled office and plant manufacturing environment. **The estimated salary range for this position is $72,300 to $100,000. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range. MISSION / SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Manager - Paper directs all aspects of the business function for the paper area.
JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

**JOB SUMMARY** :
Manufacturing Production manages or assists with managing various production activities (e.g., assembly, material forming/shaping, processing, treating, or packaging, etc.) including: Planning, directing, and monitoring production to meet established specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards. Liaising with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply & Logistics, Sales, etc. as input to developing production schedules and allocating labor/capital resources. **Role Summary**
The Manufacturing Associate Manager (Front Line Leader)manages a crew ensuring its effective operation by coordinating and directing employees, assigning tasks, coordinating the flow of work, overseeing completion of work, and monitoring performance of subordinates. The **Manufacturing Technician - Tire Uniformity Operator** is responsible for the tire uniformity optimization (TUO) calibration and machine checks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for weekly mini set check and daily three tire repeatability checks.
+ Punctuality and attendance are extremely important to the success of the operations in general as well as contributing to an overall positive team atmosphere. Dependable job attendance is expected.
**Job Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Attends Alarms, Sorter stoppages and out of Q condition
+ Responds to poor grind quality reported by grind line operator, makes appropriate grinder setup changes as needed
+ Adjusting tire flow (TUO reassignment when needed) due to unscheduled TUO downtime
+ Monitor individual TUO reject conveyors, assuring proper documentation is on sidewall of tire before forwarding to reclass
+ Request electronics, electrical and or mechanical support through the MAPS maintenance system
+ Attend to conveyor malfunctions and stock jams to maintain production flow
+ Regularly cross checks tires on other uniformity machines to ensure that good tires are not downgraded or bad tires passed
+ Runs CV check tires for radial department, record reading, and call results to appropriate people
+ Runs over sample for Quality Systems and records readings
+ Assists Electronic, Electrical and Mechanical Technicians in trouble shooting uniformity machines
+ Checks dust collector once per shift and empties dust barrels as necessary
**Shift Information** **:** 12-hr shift (potential for days or nights)
+ 2-2-3 continuous work schedule (This scheduling allows for some natural overtime and gives a three-day weekend every other week)
