**_Role Description and Responsibilities:_**
+ Follow & understand established planning or procedures including reading basic blueprints.
+ Make operator-controlled repairs, as required.
+ Operate industrial equipment such as cranes and forklifts.
+ Use precision measuring equipment to gauge correct positioning during bonding operations (micrometers, go/no-go gauges, etc.).
+ Work with various types of adhesives and adjoining systems.
+ Perform hands-on activities associated with manufacturing nozzles for rocket motors. Tasks may include but are not limited to tooling/assembly/disassembly and bonding components.
+ Maintains cleanliness of work area/facilities & other duties as assigned.
+ Participate as a team member to positively influence and enhance safety, quality, cost, and scheduling for the team.
+ Follow the direction of supervision and lead technicians.
+ Must be comfortable with using a respirator and/or a PAPR Unit.
+ Experience with sanding, buffing, and painting operations and equipment.
+ Must be able to use fine motor skills to do detailed and precise work.
+ Must pass all job-specific or specialized certification programs required for core tasks or specialized assignments.
+ Ability to work modified shifts, overtime (frequent), and weekends including flexible working hours to staff production needs.
+ Work with government and commercial customers, support delivery schedules, and be flexible when other priorities arise.
**_Basic Qualifications:_**
+ 2+ years of manufacturing (product assembly) experience.
+ Ability to work a physically demanding day & perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting or pulling up to 35 pounds, working overhead; stand for long periods; work from your knees; ascend and descend ladders; bend, twist, and push.

Northrop Grumman is seeking a **Principal Energetics Manufacturing Engineer** / **Sr.** **Principal Energetics Manufacturing Engineer.** This position will be located at our Space Systems location in **Promontory, Utah** in the Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Organization.
The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Propulsion Systems and will be responsible for the inspection of rocket motors, composite aerospace components, and other energetic and non-energetic articles. This position is responsible for developing and implementing unique nondestructive inspection techniques, methods, and procedures. Works with design, project and quality engineers through the development process to select and implement the best NDT method to ensure product quality at lowest cost.
**Roles and responsibilities:**
+ Designs NDT inspection processes, for highly energetic, static sensitive, corrosive, and chemical processes.
+ Ensures NDT processes and procedures follow best practices, regulations, and procedures.
+ Implements qualification and change management processes to ensure products or services meet customer requirements.
+ Reviews engineering designs and drawings providing correct NDT method description for the critical defect size and type of material being inspected.
+ Prepare inspection documentation to identify test parameters and requirements.
+ Develop and produce formal customer reports containing recommendations, computer generated graphics, plots, tables, summaries and comparisons. Maintain & archive electronic and hard copy inspection data and reports.
+ Communicate and interact extensively with suppliers, component designers, safety, tooling engineers, and management personnel.
+ Assist in the performance of inspector training, including training module creation.
+ Perform technical audits of NDT personnel in the field.
+ Review NDT inspection reports for accuracy, completeness, and procedural adherence.
+ Analyze, interpret and convert data into format for engineering analysis.
+ Support activities as required such as proposal support, process instruction revisions, new test development, interpretation of customer's technical specifications, and support of internal or external meetings.
+ Engineer must understand all safety risks of the process and design the processes such that safety risks are mitigated or eliminated.
+ All processes must meet the minimum standard as outlined in (HOPs) Hazards Operation Standard.
+ Understands and comply with DOD ATF.
+ Engineers work closely with the Hazards Analysis and Cross Functional Engineering group in designing and setting up the processes.
+ Supports cross function matrixed investigation teams with emphasis on root cause analysis, process failure modes, non-conformances and effective analysis
**Position may be filled at a higher level when relevant education, experience, and NDT certification are documented and provided for consideration.**
**Basic Requirements:**
**Principal Energetics Manufacturing Engineer**
+ B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related STEM field with 5 years' experience in a manufacturing, quality, or engineering environment, 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD.
+ A minimum of one Level 3 certification in accordance with NAS 410 in Eddy Current (ET), Ultrasonic (UT), or Radiography (RT). Records of certification and experience are required.
+ Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. Citizenship is a pre-requisite)
**Sr. Principal Energetics Manufacturing Engineer**
+ B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related STEM field with 8 years' experience in a manufacturing, quality, or engineering environment, 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
+ Holding for at least 2 years one Level 3 certification in accordance with NAS 410 in Eddy Current (ET), Ultrasonic (UT), or Radiography (RT). Records of certification and experience are required.
+ Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. Citizenship is a pre-requisite)
**Additional Basic Qualifications for both Principal and Sr. Principal**
+ This is a very hands-on position. Will be working on the shop floor with the technicians.
+ Will be required to obtain additional Level 3 certification to NAS 410 in Eddy Current (ET), Magnetic Particle (MT), Ultrasonic (UT), Radiography (RT), Dye Penetrant (PT).
+ Will cross train in other NDT methods.
+ Must pass the 20/25 Snellen or Jaeger No. 1 vision test for NAS 410 certification
+ This position will require some travel and after-hours and weekend support.
**Preferred Requirements:**
+ Working knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) software.
+ Skilled in working with Microsoft Office applications.
+ Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and develop collaborative relationships with all levels within the organization and outside.
+ Ability to perform at a high level with minimal supervision and direction, can multi-task and is a self-starter.
+ Hands on experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts and Six Sigma tools
+ Background in NDT of Aerospace products.
+ Experience investigating, performing root cause analysis, and recommending corrective measures.
Primary Level Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $42,900.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: 118,600.00 - 178,000.00

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. **What You'll Get To Do:**
Northrop Grumman is seeking a **Manufacturing Engineering Manager 2** to lead the Sentinel Program's Manufacturing Engineers (ME) supporting the development of the Command and Launch (C&L) Segment equipment. C&L is both structural, mechanical assemblies as well as electrical/electronic support systems and equipment interfacing with multiple IPTs for the integration and usage of that equipment. The position will be as a member of the Sentinel Manufacturing leadership team, interfacing with multiple IPTs, customers and suppliers. You will lead the team of Manufacturing Engineers for the execution of specific SOWs which are provided by the C&L IPT Manufacturing Lead. The individual will have working knowledge of ME related processes for performing producibility analysis, creating manufacturing plans, creating work instructions, assessing supplier capabilities utilizing MRA processes as defined by the DOD MRA handbook as well as having the ability to assimilate / collate the metrics for internal and customer reporting.
**The following duties and responsibilities include:**
+ Collaborate with the C&L IPT Manufacturing Lead to assess SOW requirements for the execution of Sentinel program requirements related to Manufacturing/Manufacturing Engineering for the various electronics and structures SOWs
+ Develop, coordinate and drive accurate and executable resource plans, work plans and associated Visibility Metrics aligning with the Sentinel Integrated Master Schedule
+ Provide guidance, direction and training for the team of Manufacturing Engineers who are executing the SOW requirements
+ Have an in-depth understanding of ME processes, including developing work instructions, lean manufacturing principles and execution to effectively drive resolution of production issues, conduct root cause analysis and present regular reports to management
+ Collaborate across the ME Team to ensure consistency in the use of Digital Engineering processes, tools and methods for accomplishing the development work leading to Production
+ Develop team members for growth in work scope capability and job satisfaction
+ Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, identify program opportunities for improvement and obtain solutions as applicable
