**SCOPE OF ROLE:**
The Sr. Manufacturing Manager supports the Director of Manufacturing with responsibility for all aspects of manufacturing within the assigned business lines. Assigned business lines may include any or all of the following: Lenses, Lasers, Cameras, Systems and Optical Filters. Clear, goal-aligned assignments will be made based on business priorities and need. This position will manage both the team and the capacity allocations for the assigned lines of business. The Sr. Manufacturing Manager is responsible for achieving business goals related to on-time delivery, quality, cost of goods, and for meeting sales commitments for the assigned business lines.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES:**
+ Lead, develop, and coach a manufacturing organization of 70+ employees including a combination of Direct Labor (DL) and Indirect Labor (IDL) employees. The operation runs 5 days per week, two-shifts, with occasional overtime.
+ Lead the manufacturing operations to achieve department goals for product quality, on-time delivery, and manufacturing profit and productivity.
+ Contribute to development and implementation of Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
+ Work with continuous improvement teams to drive LEAN manufacturing processes and principals throughout the separate departments.
+ Partner with the Supply Chain team to implement effective inventory management practices to reduce overall costs, improve product quality and assure stable sources of supply.
+ Drive ERP improvements and leverage functionality to support capacity planning.
+ Lead effective efforts to restructure/eliminate ergonomically adverse manufacturing procedures.
+ Facilitate preventive maintenance program for equipment and tooling in support of process and product excellence.
+ Drive safety throughout Manufacturing and identify proactive plans to prevent accidents.
+ Develop a talent development and acquisition strategy to continuously improve the manufacturing function.
+ This position is a site-based role.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:**
+ B.S. Degree required; advanced degree highly preferred.
+ 5 or more years in a related manufacturing operations management position with progressively more responsibility.
+ Green Belt level Six Sigma preferred.
+ Ability to gather, validate and analyze production data to develop evidence-based process improvement proposals.
+ Demonstrated ability to understand, plan and execute change in manufacturing structure, systems and philosophy.
+ Must be detail-oriented while able to conceive, implement and operate systems and processes.

Salary Range: $140,000-$160,000


What You’ll Do

  • Lead day-to-day film coating operations across multi-shift teams.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and production goals are consistently achieved.
  • Drive process improvements to boost yield, throughput, and efficiency.
  • Partner with R&D, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain on new products, validations, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, FDA, OSHA, and other regulations.
  • Mentor and develop supervisors, operators, and technicians.
  • Support capital projects, including equipment upgrades and automation initiatives.


What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Coating Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years of manufacturing/operations experience, with 3+ years in leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of coating processes, equipment, and formulations.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other CI methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

We're looking for a temporary (through end of year) Manufacturing Technician (Assembler) to join our growing team in West Henrietta, NY!

The Position:

As a Production Operator, you will be responsible for the assembly of small or medium sized parts, fitting and/or adjustment of interrelated parts, repair of sub-assemblies and major assemblies.

The Day to Day:

  • A Production Operator uses a wide range of hand and power tools, electrical or mechanical fixtures and gauges, standard measuring devices such as dial indicators, micrometers or voltmeters, drills, jigs, fixtures and light materials.
  • You will be responsible for inspection and testing of your own work and work of others.
  • May involve mechanical, optical and electrical/electronic operations.

What you Bring to Safran:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years electronics assembly experience or equivalent with soldering experience on printed circuit boards
  • Ability to solder/de-solder/rework assemblies/SMT experience
  • IPC-610 & JStandard 001
  • Ability to read and follow directions with heavy attention to detail
  • Able to use ERP system to complete tasks as required
  • Able to read color coded Process Details
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Programs
