As a Manufacturing engineer at Plantd, you will work directly with the leadership team to build systems that will disrupt the traditional construction industry. You will work closely with our production team to develop processes and continual improvement plans to bring Plantd’s vision of sustainable building materials into reality.
Day-to-day you will work at our vertically integrated space on mechanized processes and automated production lines. You will work closely with production and other engineering teams on standard operating procedures, continual improvement plans .
Construction or industry experience is not required, we look for smart, motivated, collaborative engineers who love solving problems and want to make an impact on the world.
Responsibilities● Continually improve processes and procedures for throughout the production workflow

● Formally review processes with production and engineering teams to create requirements for new machines or implement changes to existing machines

Main Accountabilities:

- Execute production activities per approved Manufacturing Directions while maintaining compliance with all job related SOPs

Manage the internal operations of the Fabrication departments ensuring adherence to best practices and principles of metal fabrication industries.
Qualification Requirements
This position works in various production disciplines ensuring achievement of production metrics across each work center and continued development of the teams. Review overall departmental metrics developing corrective and preventative actions from the data. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to achieve each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of related work experience.
+ 4+ years of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Six-Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing Certified, or actively pursuing.
+ Ability to lead various disciplines within a manufacturing environment.
+ Demonstrated competency with an ERP system utilized in a manufacturing environment (IFS or SAP preferred).

+ Monitors and approves attendance clocking's and manufacturing clocking's in IFS before required deadline. Resolves any discrepancies in clocking hours and/or allocations to shop orders.
+ Creates and/or distributes corrective actions (disciplinary, training, processes/procedures) within their team.
+ Inspects products manufactured with in his/her teams ensuring compliance with engineering documents.
+ Helps drive and implement 5S and other lean initiatives in manufacturing.
Physical Demands
This position will require standing, stooping, bending, and limited lifting of up to 50lbs.
Work Environment
Typical work environment will be conditioned space. Limited local travel may be required that will change the work environment. This is an active manufacturing setting; at times it will be noisy, and equipment will be moving.
